Terrible service, good food. I was at the restaurant with a few friends. They were served and I sat waiting for my meal long enough for my friends to start wondering and commenting about it. The head waiter then asked what I ordered and got an attitude when I asked him if he forgot my order. My order finally arrived but without any apology for the wait. It turns out that my friend also had a bad service experience with the place. There seems to be NO concern about good service. Next time, I will spend my money some place else and I hope you will too.

If you want to show guests Old New York, here’s a bit of it in Ridgewood. The wait staff are basically this big Italian family, and while it can get really busy, they’re always trying to be attentive. The portions are big, the food is down home good and the carafes of wine are perfect. It’s a great place for friends and family.

Last time I was here was 12÷14÷15 don’t live in the area but because of the owners and the staff at personally make it my business to come out of my way to this restaurant. This time at the Alfredo with chicken and the calamari I will recommend the manicotti $ 8.00

We have been regulars at joes for years. The wait staff is great, they are amazing, they remember what we like and how we like it! Very personable. The food is amazing. It takes a little time because everything is made to order. We never feel rushed. It’s our place for Italian food and life’s small and big celebrations!

Very disappointed by the food and the service. This was my second time there. The first, I dined in. Today I ordered to go. Today my «caesar salad» that I ordered was romaine lettuce and croutons DRENCHED in ITALIAN dressing. My linguine with garlic and oil had only huge pieces of burnt garlic. I am incredibly disappointed especially because last time I was there I was disappointed by the service as well. I will not be going here ever again. i

The good: The food– especially the ziti with ricotta and the cheesecake. The bad: The service– waited for 10 min in the front before anyone acknowledged us, had 4 different servers, felt rushed to order and finish the meals, calamari was tough, and the walls are nasty(please use a magic eraser on them) Overall I would come back if they improved the service. The food was good for the most part, and the wine was a decent price.

I walked into Joe’s at 3 pm on a Sunday and it was pretty full — by 4 it was packed. Based on that information, you might not be surprised that the patrons were the older early bird type crowd and men in their 50s taking their mom out for dinner. This place is not hipstery at all and has a warm, welcoming feel. It’s the type of place that had me considering a move to Ridgewood so that I could befriend an old couple who would adopt me. This place is so «Queens» it is unbelievable. The food is great and the prices are on point. Pasta dishes range from about 12 to 16 bucks. I had the calamari fra diavlo, which was amazing.

Joe’s is my pick for Italian in Queens and the reason being is consistency. The service is good, the food is good, the prices are good, the ambiance is good, the wine is good, the menu options are good… everything is good. I’ve been here several times including for family celebrations and for Christmas Eve and every single time I have come out satisfied. Joe’s is a traditional Italian restaurant without the stuffy décor that some competitors tend to have. They take reservations and they make sure they are taken seriously. If you have a 6:00pm reservation you will be seated at 6:00pm. The staff is superb. It may help that my parents frequent there so often that they are on a first name basis but the only reason we frequent there is because of the positive, consistent experience we have. The food is out of this World. They always have specials and they are definitely a must. The appetizer options alone will leave you happy(but of course wanting more!). Some of my recommendations include the eggplant salad(see picture — it is a special) however, it is usually available more often than not. Also the mussels, the baked clams and calamari are all above average from any other standard Italian restaurant. They make the best chicken marsala I have every had at a restaurant. It is a sweeter marsala and they do not hold back on the mushrooms, which for me is a good thing. The fra divaolo is spicy and perfectly cooked and the veal dishes are tender and delicious. They have a variety of dessert and a full bar. The wine is cheap, the white wine is always chilled, and it is all fairly priced. My one con with Joe’s is that parking is hard to come by. While it is not impossible, you do need to a lot extra time to find parking. Parallel to Fresh Pond and with the growing popularity of Ridgewood, it is located in a more busy area with a few parking restrictions. However, do not let this shy you away from going and enjoying every minute at Joe’s/

Joe’s Italian and I go way back and this is hands downs my favorite Northern Italian Cuisine this side of Queens! Lunch & Dinner here is sure to please you, your family and or your guests and Joe’s is great for a date too! Portions are huge, all the dishes are authentic in taste & flavor and the pasta is always cooked perfectly al dente. Everything from their appetizers to their Main course meals is spot on and you just can’t go wrong dining here with the exception of the vegetables which are always over cooked and I hate mushy veggies. My Top favorite dishes are noted below and you should give it a try if you ever stop by… * Branzino in Lemon /Butter & their perfectly cooked Linguine and Garlic(Badda Bing) * Mussels In Red Sauce the appetizer is perfect & the dinner portion does 3 ppl nicely * Veal Chops * Filet Of Sole * Calamari — appetizer serves 2 fine /dinner plate will cover 3 comfortably * All their Desserts are delizioso — The Bomba & Ricotta Cheese Cake are my very top favorites with the Ricotta Cheese cake being a slice of heavenly goodness! Need To Know * Make Reservations for evening Dining * They Cater and do Take out just not delivery and all credit cards are excepted

Yum! Can’t believe that we waited so long to try Joe’s Restaurant. We went there for dinner tonight and it was actually pretty crowded. A few people who came in after us had to wait 5 – 10 minutes for a table, but we were seated pretty quickly. After a few minutes of sitting down, we were served with fresh, hot bread and a side of peppers in garlic oil. Delicious! The oil was so flavorful. I couldn’t help sopping it up with the warm bread. The menu is pretty straightforward. They’ve got a few appetizers, pasta dishes, veal, chicken, fish, and steak. We ordered the ziti with ricotta and the spaghetti with meatballs. We also got a side of the garlic bread parmigano(I know, more bread, but so worth it). After placing our order, we sat for a few minutes enjoying the ambiance. The restaurant is pretty quiet except for the banter of the patrons and waitstaff. The décor is minimal, but welcoming. A large party was there celebrating a birthday. By the time we noticed the picture of Bill O’Reilly on the wall, our food arrived. The portions were huge! The server sprinkled some grated cheese over our dishes at the table and then we dug in. The marinara sauce that came with the spaghetti and meatballs was great. Chunky and not too sweet. The meatballs were huge, too! I could barely finish one. I really liked Rus’ dish too. Tons of ricotta and other cheese binded together his ziti and tomato sauce(I can’t wait to sneak a bite of his leftovers). The garlic bread parmigano was loaded with garlic, cheese, and herbs. Just how we like it. For desert, we shared an espresso and some tiramisu. Perfect way to end the meal. Service was so friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back to Joe’s.

Joe’s is my favorite Italian restaurant in NYC. I’ve been coming here for years with my family. Sauce is very important when it comes to Italian food and Joe’s does not disappoint. Best is the fra diavlo sauce. Get it!

Their pasta was amazing! The price and quality was great as well as the huge portion. They give bread in olive oil and pepper which tastes so amazing, usually I think olive oil in restaurants smell but theirs is delicious. One thing I didn’t like was the weird picture of the bigot Bill o’Riley, a picture of a terrible man like him who’s had so many lawsuits against him shouldn’t be in a restaurant. Keep food and politics separate. After asking the waiter who that was, he rudely was like Bill Bill! Umm ok, don’t get angry, man. I just wanted to add that the staff is so kind starting from the Moroccan guy, to the chef and his son, the younger boy and the Joseph gorden Levit looking guy.

Real authentic Italian food! It’s worth more than what it’s priced for. Food is delectable that even my picky eater son finish his plate of food. We ordered the Pesce, Meatballs, and raviolis. Worth the wait since service is a bit slower since there’s only 2 waiters on the premises. I wish that they add more staff so we don’t have to wait to be seated for a long time.

Five stars but for the the lighting and the mushy, yucky broccoli and carrot side dish. We waited for a table but not uncomfortably. Had a glass of wine and chatted with other patrons. Peppers with olive oil and warm bread to start are delicious. Baked clams and antipasto are perfect. Double cut veal chop wih peppers and onions was very well prepared and presented. Shrimp parm was the best I’ve had and the mashed potatoes are fantastic. Water keeps coming. Service is on point. Espresso with vanilla gelato(my invention) sambuca on the side and we will be back, often.

I’ve been here twice so far and I think I’ll be coming back pretty often. It’s a great, quality spot in a mostly residential area. Arrival: The first time I came in was on a busy Friday night. All tables were taken, busboys and waiters were super occupied. I instantly thought, «Wow crowded on a Friday in this neighborhood? Must be a good spot!» But after about 5 solid minutes of not being acknowledged, my mood started to change. Staff walked by us back and forth about 3 times. I wrote it off as them being overwhelmed. Finally, the owner(I think) comes to us and apologizes for the wait. He informs us there’s a table opening up soon. Another 5 minutes and our table is ready. Apps/Drinks: They start you with a basket of delicious, flaky but soft, fresh bread and olive oil with sauteed peppers. Perfection! We had the shrimp cocktail(4 per order) and a mixed salad. Both pretty good. I had a glass of their house Cabernet which was smooth. Entrees/Desserts: Over the two visits, we’ve tried the chicken francese, shrimp francese, shrimp fra diavolo and the chicken cacciatore. The chicken francese & shrimp fra diavolo were my favorites. The shrimp francese was my least favorite. The breading tasted too eggy. The cannoli is housemade and was pretty good. The food style is very old school Italian and you can tell they care about the quality of their dishes. Service: So, at first I wasn’t feeling the service. But once we were seated it improved a lot. The waiters were attentive, recommended great dishes and created small talk with us. The food came out pretty quickly and our refills were seamless. I’d recommend checking this place out when in the area. They have an extensive and very inexpensive menu with good portions.

Went here with the family for my brothers birthday. The food is DELICIOUS! Everything was perfect. They bring out these amazing roasted peppers soaked in garlic and oil that is just heaven when paired with the warm bread. We started with a few side orders of meatballs and sausage, the meatballs are so tendy and juicy and full of flavor, the sausage was italian style thin links not the thick premio style, they were so good. My wife had the ravioli, they were big and filling and the sauce was great. I had the chicken parm with spaghetti, so good. All the food is great, my bro also had chicken parm, his wife had chicken francese. I HIGHLY recommend this place!
