i go there from time to time. i stop by today to eat a paella. but it was disgusting. this is the third paella i eat there and these one was just awful. no meet in the lobster. the rise was so smushi, just 2 shrimps in the paella 3 oister and the smell of fish was to strong. and when the fish is fresh in not supposed to smell. i’m food permit certified and a chief. the service like always was owsome but for a $ 41.99 plate is was just awful

They have the best Colombian food in Ridgewood. Not only are they about quality but they are also about quantity, they food portions are pretty big. The owners and the employees are always so polite and welcoming.

Delicious, authentic, and fresh-tasting Colombian food in Ridgewood. Baked goods are constantly replenished, so fear not of the dreaded dry pan de bono. Try it out – you will be so glad you did!

I love this place!!! Food is amazing, I love it but I can see why there are a few bad reviews about the service. I used to come here all the time when I was a teenager because the food was cheap and the portions were huge. Today The server did not stop by us not even once after we got our food until we put the plates together and we put clean the table ourselves, which I don’t mind but we did it to get the waiter’s attention. But why 4 stars then!!! Because the food is amazing, after all these years they haven’t changed, big portions and small prices. Regardless of today’s experience I’ll be coming back soon.

When the waitresses are actually Colombian and the food is always hot, then you know it’ll be good. Had some tea and buñuelos there today, top notch as usual.

I love this place. Their food is delicious and a reasonable price for the big portions of food you get. I love the plato montañero. Their arepa con queso are so yummy and the cholados. The service is great and they are very attentive. Would return.

Their food is colombian-spanish traditional, but their plates feed a huge person, yes like this place, is just a casual restaurant, but their good side is the«more portion for your buck» or something like that, staff is professional enough, I always believe, that people who cry about restaurants is because they are unhappy in general, but I think trying their good priced food would make them happy, lol Seriously, only reason to complain about would be when is full, but you get the idea, if is full, their food is good… or you have other suggestion…

I love this place. Not only do they provide a nice portion for your $ it’s complete deserving of every penny. Yumm Also I really would like to point out the dynamic duo that is Juan(our usual server) and(I believe I remembered correctly) Mauricio. These two provide exceptional service for all it’s clients regardless of how weeded they are. They manage to keep a very polite tone and say all the right things. Honestly, this place is a gem.

Ordered delivery yesterday in celebration of the Colombia FIFA match. Food arrived terrible. My friend ordered a wrap, it was soggy and was in a pool of water/sauce in the plate, he ate half and through out the rest. We ordered empenadas which looked great, huge! Took a bite out of them and pretty much all of them barely had any filling, it was like eating a hollow shell. The cesar salad was also soggy. Will not be ordering from them again.

Montañero Bakery & Restaurant is consistently great. In May I came here for the first time in five years(for some reason I thought it was only a bakery) to try an entrée. My husband and I both ordered«tipico» or «traditional» dishes. I ordered the Montañero platter. I was surprised and excited while reading all that comes in the entrée for only $ 14.00. My platter came with a strip of skirt steak, chorizo(sausage), pork strips, rice, beans, arepa, fried egg and avocado. The platter is huge! Wait, it gets better… The food is yummy! All of the food I have had here has been great!(After my first visit I have come back many times). Additionally, they have freshly made fruit juices, Malt drinks, Alcoholic drinks(which I have yet to try) and other cool traditional columbian specialities. Their portions are very generous, their food is off the hook and the service is fast. My only Complaint unfortunately is that their desserts aren’t very good. Actually they are bad. I know it’s «Montañero Bakery and Restaurant» but the desserts and cakes I have ordered leave a lot to be desired. Apart from that embarrassing and unfortunate failure, the restaurant has got it going on in Myrtle. They have some of the best food, atmosphere, service and prices around. I definitely recommend Montañero.

The food was good and the bread is our go-to. We haven’t been back here to sit down and eat because the service is pretty uncomfortable if you don’t speak spanish… the waiters definitely shy away from you and avoid speaking to you, which means you wait forever for your check and asking for anything is a drag. The el montanero breakfast however is great! If we didn’t feel so awkward, we would definitely spend time here.

I work around the neighborhood and the choices for lunch is little. is either mcdonalds, kfc, or dominican food made in the back of a storefront that has a notice from the food administration for selling ilegal food on their doors. oh let me not forget the Chinese take out restaurants that have either a b or a c yes a c on their windows. however with a good walk I was able to find montanero. the price is ok for the food portion you get served. I always go for the bandeja paisa at 14 dollars is not bad for all the food you get. oh and it is delicios. the service was good. I was happy when the waitress gave me the wi fi password to use my laptop while i ate lunch. definitely will be coming back.

It’s probably the only restaurant with an A rating on myrtle in bushwick so I decided to try it. I was craving a croissant with coffee, which they had and hit the spot but my fault, I went a little over board. I ordered a standard Bfast of 2 eggs and bacon and it took 20 minutes! They forgot about my order :(I should have just stuck with what I originally went in there for. The breakfast was okay, nothing special but at the same token I didn’t order anything special either. Its worth a second chance.
