If you’re in a hurry, you may wish to avoid this location. If you’ve got time to kill, this is the place for you. Horrible service. But they smile a lot.

I have worked with this location three times. Once dropping off a truck when I moved here. That process was easy. Everyone I dealt with was friendly. The second time I rented a large truck for an in town move. Same story. The third time was not good. I called to arrange having a hitch put on my vehicle. I was told they had the part, and could install it the same day if I arrived after 1. When I arrived I was told the guy who does installations had the day off. Their explanation was that I had talked to their call center. Not my problem. Not impressed.

After calling the U-Haul 1 – 800 # to find out where I needed to drop off the U-Haul after a 12+ hr drive from Chicago, IL to Richmond, VA they recommended this U-Haul location. The customer service representative was super nice and accommodating. I didn’t have any problems finding the location or getting into the lot. As soon as I stepped out of the truck, the customer representative was there to meet me. He quickly checked out the truck, stated that«it looked good,» welcomed me to Richmond, and sent me on my way. He was extremely friendly and accommodating. 24 hrs later, I realized that while I had cleaned the truck out I forgot my EZ-Pass toll thing on the dashboard of the U-Haul truck. I stopped by the U-Haul and it was the same customer representative. He was extremely friendly, and knew exactly what I was talking about when I hurried through my stress-filled explanation. I was able to retrieve the EZ-Pass. What’s funny is that a few hrs later, I received a call from U-Haul telling me that I had forgotten my EZ-Pass and the location to pick it up. Thanks U-Haul for being so friendly and employing such honest people! Great customer service experience!
