Kimmie is simple THE most skilled and intuitive hair stylist My hair has ever had the pleasure to work with. In our first encounter she rescued my brass yellow hair and magically turned it into an in-​public-​wearable natural blonde. From that point on, I have not, and never will, trust anyone else with my locks. An absolute bonus to her natural talent is that she actually has a vision for your hairstyle –longterm. This review will not do Kimberly’s skill justice, but I am excited for you lovely girls to find out for yourselves! Enjoy the pampering and Kimberly’s talent for hair and herbs!

I found Kim from Unilocal while searching for hair and makeup artist for my wedding. On the wedding day, what she did to both me and my bridesmaids blew my mind. That was the first time I ever saw myself and my bridesmaids that beautiful! We still looked like how we look without makeup, but with her makeup skills, we looked so much better and prettier!
To be honest, I was a little worried at the beginning because we all are Asians and Kim is not. But Kim clearly knows how to handle Asian’s skin and hair very well and, bring the best features out. The makeup was perfect for both photos and in person.
She is also very friendly, humble and funny. I’m definitely going with her again for my hair and makeup whenever I have formal occasion. I do recommend Kim for hair and makeup for any occasions.

Kim has been doing my hair for over 5 years now, and I would not trust my hair do-​age with anyone else! When I first met her my locks were «sad» and fried! She used her expert knowledge to turn my hair into something fabulous! The highlights mixed with lowlights always look so natural– she does blondes right!
**Bonus**, she is one of the nicest people I know, and each visit is like visiting an old friend, we just chat and chat the time away! She truly cares about her work, and it shows with the care and attention she gives you at each visit. Her new salon truly is a sanctuary, I love the massage chair!
Kim also just did my hair AND make-​up for my wedding! She made me and my whole bridal party look flawless. I cannot recommend Kim enough for all of your beautification needs!!!

I feel like I just came out of a magical fairyland.
My appointment started with a delicious cup of tea while lounging in one of the best massage chairs I’ve ever experienced, with my face being treated to time under a steamer infused with essential oils. After I was good and prepped for relaxation I was moved to the facial room where Kimberly cleansed, massaged, and treated my face with an incredible amount of care and attention. My skin feels awake!
I’m so excited to have Thrive just down the street from me, I’m going to be a frequent client. And soon there’s going to be yoga on Sundays!

I had my first appointment at Thrive a few days ago. I highly recommend it. The shop itself is beautiful and practically a museum of local artists and artisans. There is an outdoor garden with seating and a hammock. The facial was very relaxing and didn’t cause any next day breakouts or dry skin like others have. There was even a foot massage while the mask did it’s work.
Kimberly does a combination dry and wet cut for hair that worked really well for my wavy hair. It also passed the air dry test a couple of days later. I think the dry cut allows her to see how your hair will naturally fall so it ends up being really low maintenance.
Overall I had a great experience at Thrive And plan to go back for my next haircut and hopefully a facial.

Kimberly is the most delightful magician. She is so creative in so many ways. My hair never looked better and her facials not only help me look better, but I feel so much better! Kimberly is a true artist and her prices are very reasonable. I’m looking forward to having her do my makeup for a special event coming up. The entire environment is lovely and be sure to check out her beautiful garden. She also has delightful tea and smoothie drinks waiting for you.

If there were more stars to give than 5, I’d give them all! Thrive is hands down, the best salon I have ever been to. Every little detail in the place is designed to make you feel welcome and relaxed. I have been going to Kim for my hair for a couple of years now and she is the kind of stylist I can trust to do anything. I have always been so pleased with how my hair has turned out. Kim really consults with her clients and makes recommendations based on their lifestyles and features. Plus, she really cares about her clients and remembers all of the little details. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a little pampering or a style update!

Kim is one of the sweetness you will ever meet. I booked her for my wedding hair and makeup in June. She did my cousin hair makeup for her wedding. She is very talented, reasonably price and easy to work with. I love her new salon it’s so warm and inviting w living wall plants n stuff to look at to buy. I think she does yoga classes there too. I told her she should do pop tea parties cuz of the cozy atmosphere. She makes her own tea blends n mix oils for skin care products too. Kind is a jack of all trades. I think she has a garden in the back but it was pouring rain when I came to get my cut n hair trial so I didn’t check it out.

This place is fabulous. I will do my best to keep this short because I myself don’t like reading novels on Unilocal.
I have spent many years trying to find my perfect hair place in the bay area and found a couple that I liked, but none were a true holistic fit.
The space:
This place is does not only have a talented stylist but it is just an overall pleasant experience.
–organic products, rustic artsy décor and a calm comforting atmosphere.
It has been designed to make you want to take off your shoes and settle in for an afternoon of tea.

Kimberly is funny, bubbly and sweet. I found that time flew by as it does when I am with old friends.
I walked in with roots any respectable girl should be ashamed of and walked out with hair I had only imagined but could not verbalize.
Her products are all organic and she seems to really understand color in a way only true artists do.
I look forward to trying out her facials — the product line sounds great.

My savior! So happy to have Thrive open in the Point!!!
My poor hair was damaged and looking a mess from blond highlights gone wrong with uneven roots and too bright before Kimberly worked her magic. I gave her full trust, letting her choose whatever color she thought would look best and hoped for the best, she was VERY excited to accept the challenge and went to work mixing custom colors for me from her organic line. She actually used 3 colors which were all amazing together and really complimented my skin tone, giving me a much more natural healthy look with an amazing shine that I have never been able to achieve. She finished with a great haircut sprucing up my layers flattering my face more than they had before. This was about a week ago now, my hair feels amazing and I have gotten compliment after compliment for the color.
Before Kimberly started on my hair I was treated to an AMAZING facial by Selina… one I have not stopped talking about for a week. I have never been more relaxed during any pampering treatment, and I have had a lot. I think if it lasted any longer I may have fallen asleep.
All in all this was a wonderful afternoon, in addition to the great outcome I really enjoyed my time spent at Thrive. Kimberly and Selina are really sweet and made me feel right at home, I was served tasty tea and got cozy in the soothing atmosphere Kimberly has set up.
As you can probably guess based on my lengthy review, I am kinda in love with Thrive and will most certainly become a regular as well as refer any friend in need to come here!
