Love this place!!! Great menu(honestly tho just came from Mekong so was full already) but the BEER! Sooooo fing good. Like stouts? Get through the Andall menu — the King Kaluea might be one of my all time faves. Beyond that you have over 50 items of deliciousness to choose from including some interesting sours and a pile of neat IPAs. There’s more on both the food and beer menu that’ll get me back here. Too bad I’m in Colorado and this isn’t very convenient. But still…

First off. The entrance is in the back. Not the front of the strip. And second, this is such a great place to go to with a group of friends and right after work for happy hour. They’re neighbors of Mekong(and I believe owned by the same owners). The beer selection is amazing. I fell in love with their petty larceny beer. It was perfect and had som sort of tang to it. Def delish and needed after work. While catching up with my girl friend, we def got hungry. As a starter we ordered the pork dumplings(fried crispy). They came out perfect and just tasted amazing. Seriously a great starter. As we talked some more, dinner time rolled around and looked at the menu again. The wake n’ bacon, under the rice rice baby. Omg… amazing! The display of the dish was pretty cute. My friend and I split that and decided that next time we hung out over the weekend, we’d get the hangover platter. The place is really clean and has a great atmosphere and the staff is great and friendly! Def coming back to try the banh mi!!!

Food = Mekong owns this place and it’s a great food spot in the same building. Price = 3(not cheap, but Richmond overall is a very expensive beer town) Experience = 3(it’s shabby… back entrance)

This place was pretty awesome. I was lucky enough to stop by on the day after their Anniversary party and they had some good stuff flowing. I felt like I was in an episode of Pokemon and I kept finding all the super rare ones over and over… Except the pokemons weren’t some ridiculous made up monsters. They were rare delicious beers from all over the place. Finally got to try my life long personal unicorn beer, Dogfish 120 minute. Go and see what they have.

cool place with a huge beer selection and good house beers. very good growler glass price since they don’t offer a less fancy growler. very large with a large seating area to primarily eat and the bar on the back wall and a stage to the right. game room is to the left. fun, friendly staff.

Whether you are a foodie or a beer snob, this is the place for you. If you are both, this place is the Answer. They have a fun food menu, as well as a selection of great beers. They had 8 of their original brews as well as about 40 guest brews. I was hoping to thy a beer float, but they discontinued that menu option.

Hands down best brewery I’ve been to. I’m a beer snob, & they have the best IPA’s in Richmond(honorable mention triple crossing & veil). Nobody does coffee beer like them, it is seriously on another level. Their Andalls(random infusions) & incredibly nice staff, especially Bobby, Jose, & Lindsay, keep me coming back more than any place in RVA. P. S. their fries are dank

Fun atmosphere, good beer! Didn’t try the food, just post-dinner beers. Large, open space, friendly bartenders. Video games, board games, Jenga, skee ball. #56 Bourbpn Barrel Stout… tasty. Several IPAs available, as well as several coffee stouts. Only in Richmond a few days… this place was a cool find!

My fiancée and I came down to Richmond for his spot in the 2016 Ragnar Race, and after a grueling 24 hours running in turns on hardly any sleep, I decided to treat him to some beer! The reason I even knew about this place is because we had one of the brewers come up and visit the brewery that I work at. He told me to check it out if I was ever down there and I am so glad I did! They specialize in IPA’s() and they are all really good. Their beer selection(as well as the 5 or so that they have on tap from their own brewing) is very impressive, they truly have something for everyone. Bobby took me back to check out the system, and all of the barrels are named after Star Wars characters which gets extra points in my book. He also sent me home with a free canteen of larceny IPA! We had a wonderful time and offering goldfish as a snack is genius. The only reason I am not giving five stars is because there was not any sort of greeting when we came in the door, and bartenders watched us look around obviously not sure where to start(it was not busy at all), and didn’t interact until we went up to the bar.

The beers were pretty good. We tasted their award winner Larceny and liked it. Atmosphere was nice. Very big space and it was cool that a stage was there so live music is happening on occasions. I also like the 90s rap playing, put me in a good mood. Do not get the pork belly baos sliders. They had no flavor. Usually the pork belly served with baos is braised and tender. The«pork belly» that was served had no fat, only a layer of char Sui and the pork was freezer burned. And you know when you have freezer burned meat, the flavor of the meat is gone. The bao had no flavor again, usually it’s sweet, but this one just tasted like flour. It was disgusting. There appetizer sampler platter was pretty good.

The food was better than the beer. So I went here with some friends from work to try the beer. The food was amazing and the beer was really good. Beer– the Porter was solid. It had a nice chocolate taste to it, the other three I tried were IPAs. They were drinkable, but I’m not an IPA lover. The selection want amazing, but the food makes up for it. Staff engagement– Our waitress was very friendly. We were greeted as we walked in and the advice she gave for the food as spot on. There were some weird names but everyone at the table enjoyed every bite we had. Cleanliness– This was a place I would hang out with the fellas. From the games to how clean and neat it was, it was an awesome experience. Swag– I got stickers!!! This is a great place to grab a bite to eat and drink some local beer. They had more than hose beer on tap, so I’m sure anyone could find something to their liking.

Nothing that hasn’t been said already, but the beer selection is top-notch, while the food is mostly bar snacks and crappy attempts at Asian cuisine. Beer prices are a little steep, but go during happy hour cause the prices become very reasonable.

Amazing food and beer here. The Andalls were all wonderful as well as the two house made beers. Had the bao chicken sliders and they were so good. I can’t wait to go back. I love Mekong a lot but I like this even more.

Games, drinks, and food… what more can one ask for? Oh yeah… good company. Well you can bring your own or you can join in on another’s company if they’ll have you. Everyone comes to have a good time and that’s what the Answer Brewpub team plans to give you. I must confess. I did not have the opportunity to eat during my visit, but the food smelled and looked good. I did enjoy playing Jenga… just don’t make it fall or it can hurt… seriously. All in all this is a nice bar spot to hang out if you’re looking to maybe do just a tad bit more than eat and drink. The stage was empty while I was there, but i pictured an awesome karaōke scene. Not sure if they have that or not, but it is a prime karaōke stage. Just sayin…

This brewpub is awesome! Definitely a great location for large groups or group outings. Plenty of seating inside and TONS of beers! I went with a small group this past weekend and we split the flights that they offer and they were delicious! I didn’t taste a beer that I didn’t like. However I asked our waitress for her recommendation and she brought me: Lilikoi Kepilo a Passion Fruit Wit and it is dangerously good! We also ordered some appetizers while we were there and we ordered the steamed dumplings and the chicken wings… order the chicken wings they were delicious and the sauce on them was literally finger licking good! We had a blast playing all the games, especially large Jenga! I highly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back!

You remember your childhood best friend’s cool older sibling? Well this is the cooler younger sibling that decided to take craft to the next level, wears skinny jeans and has a manbun. If you love Mekong, craft beer, and fusion food you might love this more than Mekong (Gasp, I know. Sorry not sorry). While you sit contemplating your beer selection and feeling slightly overwhelmed, you will receive their focused, curated menu with open arms. Stomach arms. I’ve returned for their banh mi twice now and love their tofu prep. If you’re veg, make sure you ask for no paté, they otherwise don’t mention it if you order the tofu. I do wish their pickled vegetables were a little more potent, they almost taste un-pickled. Maybe they aren’t? That’s my one wish. My SO is a huge fan of the Ra Ra Ramen. Their bowls seem like a fusion of phở and ramen and it’s rad. Get all of them. Beers are interesting and it’s nice to get a half pour to try them out. You can even get a flight WITHGOLDFISH. So maybe do that and work your way through all of the numbers. Open floor plan, Games, and industrial aesthetic. Two stomach-arm thumbs way up.

If I could, I would come here everyday for the rest of my life to have lunch. Hands down, this was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time! It really hit the spot! My husband and I both ordered a banh mi(I think the one with all kinds of different sausages) and my husband got the shrimp chips and I ordered fries. Giant proportions, enough for 2 lunches! I really can’t put into words how great the food was, absolute yummy. The beers. Wow, the beers! I had a coconut chocoloate Aztec candy bar or something, it was A-mazing. All of their brews we tried were top notch. Like the best. If their beers aren’t your thing they also had a million other micros to try as well. The place also has a game room and a stage for live music, although we didn’t partake. Bottom line, you must go here, make this a stop next time you are in Richmond!

Went last night for first time. I would prob give it a 3 star but it was late on a Wednesday and I wasn’t truly having the full experience. So I don’t want to drag down ratings not having full picture of the place. First voted top Brew pub in the country 2 years running. Ba little bit of a stretch I think. They obviously have a devoted following. They do have a great beer selection that is easily revised since the taps are numbered and the menu at the bar is a digital board showing what is one each tap. 2 bars each with different beers. Games in center area between bars. It kind of a run down strip mall kind of place but also it was kept very clean despite the ‘70s feel to the inside of the building. Restrooms appeared newly renovated. Specials each night. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. I will return and may eventually figure out what the big draw is.

I finally got to the Answer brewpub. It’s got beer down cold. Haha. An has won the best beer bar in America and this bar shows his commitment to being the leader in providing you with the world of beers right here in Richmond. If you have time, drop in at happy hour and see for yourself. There are several beers made right there, and you can order a flight of them for tasting, or order off the vast beer menu. The food is good, I had a Bahn MI and some fries, and they have phở. They are a beer bar so you won’t find liquor or wine. It’s a great place to relax with friends and tip a few quality beers.
