Ok I know I am partial because I am myself a derby girl. But these ladies are definitely worth the time. I have been to many bouts and have had the opportunity to meet a lot of these girls. The put in a lot of work and it is worth it to go see a bout, even if you are new to the sport. I went to their latest bout(a game in derby lingo) at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Such a great venue. And these ladies put up a good fight against a higher ranked opponent. The RCR girls are working their way up the rankings of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association and in a few years will be one of the better teams out there. So go see a bout and if you like it talk to one of the girls about joining. They are very accepting and you will have a blast.

It’s good derby. The girls skate hard, have a lot of talent, and are genuinely good people to boot. One of the top three teams I’ve seen.

I love me some Paris Kills, 40-ounce Bounce, Shake-N-Baker and all of the Rollergirls! This is definitely one of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday night in the RVA. The energy of the skaters and the crowd is fantastic. Talk Derby to me, Ladies.

The bout we caught was at the convention ctr and was a «double header.» Lots of fun, great crowd. Was pleasantly surprised to see they serve alcohol and the concessions were open. Fun, appropriate«half-time» show between bouts which showcased a local artistic roller-skating group.

Richmond’s first –and finest– ladies of roller derby. They skate out of Skateland, which just happens to be VA’s oldest operating rink(which is evident if you’ve been in the bathrooms). The ladies skate clean and mean. Check them out at their next bout– you won’t be disappointed!
