Usually on my lunch I go on a walk. This place is along the path. Padows offers a wide selection of sandwiches, soups and salads. It has that mom and pop feel to it. I normally get an egg salad sandwich. It’s pretty god and never soggy. There is a lunch special where you can get a small side and drink for around $ 6. That is not a bad price compared to some other spots around this area. Every time I have come here it has never been too long of a wait to get food. And the service is always great.

The sandwich’s here are amazing. I had the pastrami on rye and was surprised by how good it was. Their meats seem to be fresh, they don’t go lite on anything and overall worth it. The only complaint I have is the staff can have a bit of an attitude. If you are downtown, I would say that this place is a perfect spot and the prices are just right.

I’ve been frequenting this Padow’s location for about 3 years now and have come to the conclusion on many things. Yes, their meat is top notch. Really good. However, I order the same sandwhich every single time and it is never ever made the same way. Sometimes it is a mile high with meat and awesome. Today there was one piece. I think there should be some more conformity as to how the sandwiches are made. I know there are about 4 – 5 people making them — but there should be some common knowledge as to how many pieces of meat go on each sandwich. All in all, a quick and friendly place to get a sandwich.

This is the lunch SPOT in Richmond. I thought it was pretty good, but don’t get the hype. To be fair, when anything is like, overhyped, it’s generally a let-down for me. Like the one time, my friend hyped up NASCAR racing events and I was severely disappointed at how boring it was to me… they’re driving in circles. That’s just me though – an Asian(driver). Oh yeah, their sweet tea is friggin’ killer though. Load up on ice though, the tea is freshly brewed… or seems that way to me! dmo out.

They have a large assortment of baked goodies(cakes, cookies, brownies, pies). They also have really reasonably priced lunches(sandwich, 2 sides or side and drink for $ 7). Brunswick stew is not good if you like seasoned soup. Hot sauce didn’t even help it :(

Whenever I crave a freshly made deli sandwich, I head over to Padow’s. They have a large menu to choose from with all kinds of sandwiches. Prices are reasonable, and you can get free refills on fountain drinks.

Stopped by this place on way back from CVS. I stayed at the Omni Richmond and they were probably the only breakfast place within…8 blocks, what seemed like. I’m glad I stopped there. I got the Padow club, which is like a club sandwich, but with ham and turkey. Though a lil pricey $ 8, you get $ 8 worth of ham and turkey. They also throw in a pickle, which is a nice incentive because most sandwich places make you pay extra for that. If I’m in Richmond again, I’m definitely stopping again for breakfast.

I usually bring my lunch to work(eating at my desk), but I take a walk in the early afternoon and always stop by here to get me an extra large iced tea(fresh brewed, not bottled) to go. And when I am craving a sandwich, I always order the #20, which is real country ham(one of my very favorite things and hard to find, even in Richmond). This place, while not fancy, is convenient, clean and quick, and service is always offered up with a smile.

Always delicious and very fresh. The medium-rare roast beef keeps me coming back to this ideal lunch spot that proudly sells Boar’s Head deli meats :)
