Mr Submarine

Steak ‘n Cheese sub is the only thing I’ve had here the few times I have been. Always hot and delicious and the buns are very yummy and crunchy. Wish they offered a half sub size but twist my arm and I get the full size one every time!

I’ve been looking for a place that can compare to the subs from upstate NY. Again I am left unimpressed with my steak and cheese sub. The ingredients and taste are simple. I will say that the customer service is excellent. I was greeted as I entered the door and did not feel rushed as I skimmed through the menu. I ordered the steak and cheese for myself and one for my son. I think they could have maybe had a variety of different cheeses to choose from rather than provolone. Maybe they could have added a bit more cheese because it was lacking. All in all it sit fill my appetite. I am not sure if I would try it again.

first off, the only reason this glorious hole in the wall isn’t getting five stars is because you have to ask for a key to get into the bathroom, which can be annoying during busier hours, and because i get the same thing every time. so i can only speak to that one item:

it is the mecca of a hot sub/​grinder/​philly/​hoagie whatever you want to call it. six bucks, an entire foot of crunchy yet soft bread, juicy and flavorful chopped and shredded chicken, perfectly caramelized onion and peppers… my god i am getting turned on just thinking about it. i get mine with no tomato, and it also comes with shredded iceberg, a schmear of mayo, and a generous portion of melty provolone cheese. not too greasy so it doesn’t soak through the paper, but just greasy enough for it to be satisfying and not dry. big enough to share, but good enough you won’t want to. and if that wasn’t good enough, their fries. i’m still not convinced that they don’t hop over to mcdonalds every time they ring a fry order through. theyre like mcdonalds fries, but they have that slight starchy coating on the outside that keeps them crispy and warm. perfect little shoestring crispy dudes. i think their subs have got to be so good because they make everything on the same flat top (vegetarians and vegans beware) which has got to be wonderfully seasoned after all these years. i remember going here as a kid and getting a chicken and cheese after my stepdad got all of his household necessities from the lowes up the street. this tried and true tradition has held up after all these years like a true diamond in the rough — a hidden gem — an instant classic!

I been coming to Mr. Submarine since I was in high school. I usually get the steak and cheese, pizza, or the Italian sub. All of the subs I’ve eaten at Mr Submarine has been tasty. The pizza sub is my favorite. The steak and cheese sub is solid. The french fries here are delicious. The fries alone is a good reason to come to Mr. Submarine. The strawberry soda is very flavorful! Mr. Submarine has other Italian dishes but I only get the subs and fries. The atmosphere is always laid back at this location. The service is always good and fast​.Mr. Submarine offer customers seating inside of the restaurant. The seating area is small. This location has a drive thru unlike other Mr. Submarine. If you want fast service and a good sub, Mr. Submarine is a good choice. Note:Mr Submarine is closed on Sunday’s.

This was my first time going here after running to the bank across the street. I needed a place to get a quick bite to pick up and figured I would try this place.
I ordered the Gyro (no onion). Meat seemed a little dry, but adding the sauce helped. Would be nice if the lettuce was not so shredded as the warm meat causes it to go soggy fairly fast. I picked some of the tomato off because it was too much for me, but happy to say it looked fresh.
Won’t count this one off the list yet. There is a sad lack of places to get food near my office building and this place is good enough for me to go back. Will have to try some of the cold subs as well.

My go to spot for a gyro. I would have given 4 stars except for the cheese steak is good but I feel that the meat is almost too chopped cut that in half and you have a damn near perfect cheese steak.

Think of a greasy spoon version of Subway.
Came here to grab a quick bite to eat during lunch. The portions rock. I ate half a sub for lunch, the other half for a driving home snack. The food is decent, just don’t get too fancy with it. Stick to the subs and gyro’s and you will be pleasantly surprised. All seem pretty good but are even better if you add in some tast feta cheese for a buck extra. Venture into the land of the salad of your own volition and with caution.

I’ve lived and worked nearby for years but never paid attention to this place before today when I was in need of a seriously fast lunch, but didn’t really want tradtional fast food. Glad I tried Mr. Submarine, it was clean and fast and delicious. Counter service. Got a drive thru as well.
They’ve got the usual Greek and Italian subs, and they also make gyros. I had the gyro today and I was really impressed. It was huge. About $ 5. My husband had a club sub that was also huge.
I recommend this place and I’ll go back.
