This is your typical Mexican grocery store. They have great selection of produce, meats and other typical central american, Mexican and Brazilian products. Their prices are great specially with the big store with in mile distance. I have experience that not all their produces are fresh and you have to check the expiration date on some products. For example i was tying to buy sheared carrots and noticed that all their bags were expired for about 1 week. Customer service can vary and there is most of the time two ladies in charge of the register. The service that you receive from these two ladies varies depending on their mood. I have come times where i have been treated very well and other times where it feels like they don’t want to be working. Another thing that this grocery store lack its that they only have one register open and working at a time. This is very annoying at night when there is a big line of people doing their night shopping and you have to wait until the lady in the register finishes chatting with customers. One last thing that this place lacks its close by parking lot. Their parking lot its located in the back and it can be very inconvenient to walk about ¼ of a block to make it to the front door. I like coming shopping to this corner store since its closer to the house and very affordable but sometimes i prefer to go to the big store so i can avoid the previous issues that i mentioned.

I just moved up the street from La Loma a couple months ago. I’ve been on a mostly ramen with frozen peas and egg kinda diet for a while… food is so expensive and cooking is messy and time consuming. But every time I was across the street filling up the gas tank I would notice the fresh looking produce out front and my curiosity was peaked. So I stopped over one day for whatever looked good. Selection was good. Anything you might need was there. I want again today and was blown away. Before I even stepped foot inside I picked up a peach and it was so ripe and heavy with juice it must have weighed a pound. I went through the store and purchased basic food stuffs… not ramen… and went to leave. I realized, once I was outside, that I forgot to grab a mango and tomatoes. The mangos blew my mind. Almost as big as my head with it’s ripe juices dripping from the top. First thing I did when I got home was cut up that peach. So much flavor. Maybe the best I’ve ever had, and I have some experience with amazing peaches. And as I write this my mouth is still on fire from the house made salsa verde. They are definitely becoming my daily stop now. Ramen is a thing of the past.

I’ve been a patron here for years! Love to get all my chicken, fish, meat from their carneceria. Also love the michelladas that they sell. Produce is awesome as well. The homemade guacamole is a must for us, along with La Mexicana chips, yummy! Everyone is so friendly! With La Loma and Farmers Market, I’m set!

Al pastor! I can finally just buy it. and make it at home. Yay! Also, you cannot miss their red salsa up there in the case near the cashier. I shouldn’t even be telling you that because you’re all going to go and buy it all up. Those lil powder sugar, caramel cookies at the front. also not to be missed.

Great small storeto find meat, vegetables, and canned products. The meat is one of the best around. Also, they have a lot or products from Brazil, from what I can see. Sometime I wish I knew what they exactly are so that I can give them a try. A great advantage of the loma is that they are really close to my home, which is very convenient. Another great thing about la loma is that they definitely try to gain your service. The cashier is always very friendly. They also try to provide the best prices. Since Las Montanas opened up, smaller businesses have really struggled, but I think it is customer service what will make the difference in the long run. Great job La Loma No1!

Good for produce or meats at a reasonable price. Parking is in the back lot. Nice display outside. My only complaint is that they often don’t have any rotisserie chicken when I happen to come by. But you can save money here compared to any supermarket.

I went in there after a day of prospecting and me and my associate needed a refresher. Mind you, I’ve been passing by this supermarket for years now and never went in. I was surprise at the cleanliness of this place! Real clean and organized and very well kept. Prices were reasonable!

Queso Fresco, Cotija… weakness by the pound. Fresh Mexican Cheeses are way better then you local grocer. I love La Loma, so I came here over the ones close by. I can always count on my La Loma to have a supply of fresh Latin Foods. I bought a lot of food, cheeses, tortillas, spices and chiles. Everything went into a delicious meal, so I’m fan of La Loma.

I have become very tired of chasing around to major chains in search of sale items on fresh meats and produce. All too often, the produce LOOKS beautiful but lacks flavor. So having driven by La Loma #1 many times and admired the gorgeous color of their produce on the stands outside the market, I finally went in. I fell in love. The produce is so fresh, ripe and flavorful and the prices are usually much lower than at Safeway or Lucky. I can count on La Loma to have most of what I need for every day produce.(I haven’t found things like kale or spaghetti squash, but I wouldn’t expect a small market to carry items that might not move quickly enough to justify the cost of carrying them.) I recently tried their boneless/skinless fresh chicken breasts and was very happy with the quality, freshness and every day price which was equal to the lowest«sale» prices at major stores. I like the small, community feel of La Loma and do as much of my produce shopping there as possible. I believe in supporting small, local businesses and La Loma #1 is a winner.

A pretty good tienda for picking up last minute grocery items and produce; basically lots of Latin food. Tasty meats, too– my boyfriend got carne asada and all the fixings for one of our camping trips here and damn it was good! The meat was of course lean and had fat, but i liked it, the salsa was also excellent! Prepared salsas, guacamole, fresh tortillias, Sponge Bob pinyatas, hella Pan dulce, and lots of beverages to choose from.
