I’ve been to a number of Krogers in RVA but I want to specifically talk about this one. My number one issue with this Kroger is customer service at the check out lines. On a number of occasions I intentionally left my Kroger card at home to see if a cashier would allow me to use the stores card or allow me to register for one. Over the last three visits to this particular Kroger, every single time I went to the check out line, neither cashier offered to allow me to use the store card or encouraged me to get a card of my own from them. To me, that means that they were either incompetent in customer service skills or that it is their policy to allow customers to pay full price for items unless the customer specifically asks to get a card of their own. Either way, I would much rather prefer to do my business at grocery stores that don’t put the responsibility on me to ask for their discounts.

Not really sure why some people find this store«ghetto» because I like it just fine. They have just about everything I need, the prices are great, and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. I would give it 5 stars if they had a bigger organic section and didn’t leave expired items on their shelves.(Twice I bought expired food and didn’t notice until I got home… and no, they weren’t marked down!) Overall, a great store. Seeing friendly faces like Shirley’s and Cheryl’s definitely make it worth the trip!

Great location, most of the employees I’ve encountered are very friendly, always pass through to stop and buy snacks when I am on the road. It is right off of 288 and really easy to get to. They also have a gas station there to use your Kroger Points. Quality wise, way better than Food Lion and Martins, which are nearby.

I prefer grocery shopping at Kroger over any other store in town. The layout of this store compared to the one on Bowe at Lombardy(near my old neighborhood) is a little different, but takes no time to navigate. I’ve had no problems finding the items I need. The staff members are friendly, responsive, and willing to help. I find that it’s best to shop here during the week or late evenings on any day.

This Kroger is ghetto. It is always crowded and their selection is poor. I’d rather drive to the nicer, larger one in Carytown or even the West End(a 30 min drive for me) to shop — this one is like a Walmart. They do have a gas station at this one though.
