After reading all the great reviews, I decided to give Jiang’s a try. It’s hard to find good chinese food in the Midlothian(or even the tri-cities) area, and after Jiang’s, it is still hard to find good chinese food. Unfortunately, I was highly disappointed(maybe I had too high of expectations going in). I ordered the crab ragoons, chicken Singapore noodles, and the orange chicken. The ragoons wore more like a soft pastry with some cream cheese filling. Not exactly what you expect for a crab ragoon and not very good either. The Singapore noodles were what other places would call«mei phun» noodles, but with curry added(terrible, terrible curry). They tasted awfulwhich is unfortunate since my wife and I were really looking forward to those the most. The orange chicken, while not absolutely terrible, wasn’t great. I felt like it didn’t have much flavor, which is strange considering all the good reviews I read about the orange chicken. Maybe ordering take-out was a mistake or maybe it was the smell of chlorine coming from the children’s pool next door that added to the terrible taste, but something caused the quality of food to be a lot worse than all the great reviews. Maybe the high price added to the bad taste in my mouth. The only reason I am giving Jiang’s two stars is because of the friendly staff. They were very easy to deal with. While I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, I, unfortunately, I will not be going back.

We visited Jiang’s this evening. We went at about 9 pm for a late dinner and chose Jiang’s because they were open until 11 pm on Saturdays. The atmosphere inside is pretty nice, nothing fancy but not one of those Chinese restaurants you would only order out from. The server was was great, she was very helpful with the menu and offered any changes we want with the entrees and recommended some that she enjoyed. We ordered the crab meat dumplings to start which were crab rangoon, they were AMAZING. They came with a sweet sauce and a hot mustard. We also ordered the hot and sour soup to try, also AMAZING. Both of these items were some of the best I have had. For dinner I ordered the hunan beef and my boyfriend got the orange beef– I had never seen or tried orange beef before. My hunan beef was just alright, I wouldn’t order it again. His orange beef however was great, tons of sauce on the plate and plenty of food for leftovers. When we asked for a box she took our plates and boxed them for us in addition to adding more rice for us for our leftovers later, very nice! We will definitely be visiting here again. I plan to try the lo mein next time and the chicken fried rice I keep hearing about. All together with 2 drinks, 2 soups, an appetizer and 2 entrees the bill came to $ 42 before tip. Pretty average priced for Chinese restaurants I have been to, and having lunch the next day is a good deal for me.

I love my food hot. I ordered the«Happy Family» over a sizzling hot plate. It had scallops, beef, chicken, shrimp, snow peas, mushrooms, onions and broccoli– all the things that I love. I was really surprised at the flavor of this dish and being from the west coast where we have some of the best Chinese in the country… this dish held its own. Yes, real authentic Chinese… in Richmond?

I was thrilled by this place. Exactly what I expect when I order Chinese. The lunch specials are a GREAT deal and dinner prices are reasonable too. Quick turnaround and we do pick up since it’s less than 5 mins from our house. Do try it — it’s probably going to turn into your go-to for Chinese.

I have eaten Chinese food in a variety of restaurants — from NYC to Florida to Central America to Europe — and I have found it very difficult to find a place that has all that Jiang’s offers. For this reason, I keep coming back to Jiangs for the best Chinese food in Richmond. Its the best location for Chinese food in the area for multiple reasons. Not only is the food second to none in Richmond(my favorites are the Tilapia and Hunan Chicken to the Black Bean Chicken) but the location is also equally appealing. The location is quaint, cozy and ideal for dates(my girlfriend and I would eat here multiple times per mo). Despite the warm comfortable locale, I have seen them easily accommodate large groups(I’ve known these groups to also to take full advantage of Jiang’s bar). The staff at Jiang’s is the perfect compliment to the high quality food and ambiance. The staff is very experienced, professional, attentive and courteous and they seem to truly appreciate my business — they always remember my family, friends and me with a warm greeting. In my experience, while you may be lucky to find a Chinese restaurant with one of these qualities(good food, good ambiance or excellent service) it’s difficult to find all of these virtues in one place(particularly, in Richmond). Because I have always found great food, the best surroundings, and excellent service at Jiangs I keep coming back for more.

I went to this restaurant based on the reviews that I seen the atmosphere is great the service is wonderful but the overall food is subpar at best. The best Chinese food that I’ve eaten here in Richmond Virginia is a place called joy garden on Broad Street. I really wanted this restaurant to be all in all a great experience

I was so pleasantly surprised by this amazing Chinese restaurant last night. Clean. Big Priority. Great service. Big priority. But have I mentioned the food? To die for good. I’ve eaten Chinese food in restaurants all over the US and Jiang’s completely bowled me over. Love, love, love! The Egg Drop Soup will slay you – the Moo Goo Gai Pan was the best I’ve ever had. Our compliments and great appreciation to the Chef and Staff. Yum yum good. We will return(and I will tell you, I’ve NEVER finished a Chinese meal; I’ve always had left overs. Not last night. Finished almost every bite – it was just that good).

The service was super quick and extremely friendly. I had the Orange chicken and my date had the honey chicken. They were both great. Generous portions and the white and brown rice were cooked to perfection.

Good hot food and large portions. Attentive waitstaff. Thought the prices were a little steep but worth it. 2 adults 2 kids no apps or soups $ 52.00 before tip. Paying $ 2.50 for an iced tea still pisses me off. Good eating though so 4 stars for deliciousness. Would eat there again for occasion.

Delicious! Quick delivery! I ordered crab rangoon, spring roll & beef fried rice. They’re all great & arrived w/in 20 minutes. I would give them 5 stars but I told them I’m staying in a hotel & they didn’t include any cutlery.

We came back late to our hotel and not much was open but felt like Chinese after viewing the new exhibit from Beijing the VMFA. They had some good reviews and the food looked pretty good so we went with Jiangs. I got the fish in wine and the crab Rangoon. My friend got the shrimp and todu with added broccoli. They got the food to the hotel promptly and the food was still piping hot. Good stuff at a decent price.

Very good Chinese restaurant … Even though Teppanyaki Grill Chinese Buffet is a stone’s throw away, it won’t be the end of Jiang’s. I don’t care for buffet food and like my Chinese food prepared fresh as per order. Jiang’s food has well balanced flavor, not too spicy or salty, yet not too bland, although I personally like my food spicier. Dishes like orange beef and General Tso’s chicken are best eaten dine-in as they get soggy as a takeout. That’s not Jiang’s fault; covered container keeping moisture in makes the initially crispy dish soggy once you get home. The place is clean and the service is fast and efficient. Price is in line with other Chinese restaurants in the area with upscale aspirations.

This is a a really good Chinese restaurant. I don’t eat there as often as I should. It doesn’t over do salt and allows the flavors to come out. I normally eat some form of seafood in Chinese restaurants or chicken. I’ve had both here. The Gen. Tso is excellent as are the spring rolls and hot and sour soup! Service is sometimes confusing but then I don’t speak Chinese. I think this is one of the best decorated Chinese restaurants in Richmond. It also is either first or second, depending on taste, maybe the best tasting Chinese restaurant in the Richmond area in my opinion.

My hunt for fantastic Chinese food in Midlothian continues after trying Jiang’s. Their food is mediocre at best, but it was delivered hot and arrived quickly so big points for that. Where to start… the eggrolls… Does every Chinese joint in the city order their egg rolls from the same supplier, because I still haven’t found any that aren’t boring and taste like they came out of box from Kroger. Jiang’s weren’t greasy, but they were definitely lackluster. Hunan chicken was marked as spicy on their menu. When I asked over the phone if it was, indeed, spicy, «not really» was the answer I received. I asked them to add a little spice to it, and they did, so it was okay. Vegetables were fresh and chicken was pretty tasty. The downside was that it was swimming in oil. Yuck. Moo shoo chicken was fine. Shrimp lo mein was a disaster. It lacked any kind of flavor and we had to add way too much soy sauce to make it palatable. Add stomach rumbling for much of the night after eating here and it all added up to a very mediocre experience.
