Thank you Iron Cross!!! My 5-year old LOVES camps at Iron Cross. They are so flexible, affordable, personable and down right awesome with kids! It’s always more fun with a friend but even my normal slow to warm up kid had a blast every day this past Spring Break and Summer and kept begging for more. Each day is fresh and exciting yet he knew generally what to expect. He loved the coaches and gained tons of confidence. The front desk was also amazing, always cheerful and positive. Even though we didn’t come every day, they learned our names fast and made us feel very welcome. THANKYOU to everyone at Iron Cross!

My son has been going to ICG for their preschool gymnastics since September and he typically looks forward to it, more so than his old gym. He is five years old and although he had prior little gymnastics background experience where he was well with the bars and(as I thought) forward flips and rolls, I feel as though in comparison to ICG and the old gymnastics facility, that his prior gym did not teach him the proper techniques to execute the moves more safe, sound, and towards perfection. Here is what I love about ICG(that I have seen and noticed when I look and I am there): –The coaches I have seen(for preschool and other groups) are not just about to tell the kids instructions on what to do so your kids can perform it, they are going to show beforehand what is to be done, and they will repeatedly help you if your kids needs it or asks. –The ratio to coach and students seem good, I don’t see more than 7 gymnasts at most to one coach. Typically I see 5 – 6. Well I think that’s good. There is even one on one coaching. –Lots of equipment. –Fun themes every other week for kids incorporated into gymnastics routine(at least for preschoolers) like superhero week and they can go into the«bat cave» or fight like«The Hulk» or Frozen week with snowflakes décor and build a snowman. –The coaches are fun and seem like they care, more patient than most other teachers and coaches I have come across. –The gymnastics facility is big to me and is expanding in the future. –You can watch your kids through the windows from downstairs or upstairs. –All of the staff are friendly and seem to get along with each other as well. –The facility is currently shared with various levels of gymnasts so the preschoolers can examine the older kids. –There are many coaches. –Updates on the gym is always shared via email/phone and someone always seems available to speak with you(well me) when needed. –Unlimited make-up classes. –Parents night out is offered and my son had fun at his first one. There are also themes at Parents night out too such as toilet paper gym night. –Prices are fair. –Location is decent. –Everything is pretty clear about this gym. –Readily teaches more proper skills to execute moves. –Multiple areas to practice various skills. Cons: –Parents night out is only until 11:30. –Coaches leave their shoes on inside the gymnastics area. –Some preschoolers don’t need several of the mats laid out for their height or safety when performing exercises since they are tall enough to reach equipment and may be lazy to do actual skills or it impedes their execution of the moves well. –This one is more personal: sometimes I just feel as though the kids could be taught a little more on certain skills, such as my son with the bars, hard to explain though. However, its the preschool part, I’m sure it will all work out as he transitions later. Note: My son is still in the preschool part, but he likes it a lot, so much more than his old gym even though he was able to do more of what he loved at his old gym which were the bars. I think the coaches have a lot to help with that. Also, I see many other kids, and though I don’t have much experience with gymnastics facilities or looking at gymnastics even, these kids look awesome at what they do and it seems like them and their parents really enjoy ICG. BOTTOMLINE: We are happy with the gym and glad we chose this one even though it is a little out of the way for me and there were a few others closer to our area. Around the Fort Bend County area, so far, I truly think this gym is as good as it gets.
