I love allowing people the benefit of the doubt, maybe our waitress was just having a bad day. It happens. But between her and smoking on the patio, they lose two stars. If smoking is your thing, I suppose you can add a star back. I’m not fond of the patio… first, they allow smoking there, and in my opinion, that’s just disgusting. Find a new restaurant if I don’t like it? No problem — in Richmond there are plenty, and I will not be returning. My largest complaint about the patio is tables made for two, around which they insist on seating four. At one point, our waitress comes to our table of three people sitting at two of the tables and insists we split them up because, «I feel like I just lost a sale because of you people.» Her words, hence the quotations. Nevermind there was a table with seating for eight under the canopy with three people. She came to our table and gave us lip about having three at a table for four.(Or using her math, the people at the table for eight were really sitting with three people at a table for 16). And she picks on us? To be frank, that’s bullshit. One of our table walked home early as the restaurant did not have(or maybe didn’t want to make any of the three drinks she requested from the menu) … my other table mate left a zero tip because he was so upset at her service and attitude. I left 30% which is low for me, but I was even debating that. The only saving grace is that the fries were OK(nothing spectacular, but not bad at all), and our burgers were cooked well done and medium-well. Sadly, it seems to be a rarity to have a restaurant cook burgers properly. The flavor was pretty good, and I enjoyed the bun.

Went for the first time this month and was very pleased. The outdoor seating area is very, very cute and service was great. The menu wasn’t particularly exciting(nor was the happy hour selection), but the salad I had was heads and shoulders above anything else I’ve had at that price point.

The Lynchburger is extraordinary! Get it without lettuce and tomato for the real Texas Tavern experience. Looking forward to my next one. …

Curbside is an awesome fan bar with great drink specials. The service is always great and welcoming, couldn’t ask for a more friendly staff. I would recommend curbside to anyone looking for a patio on a nice day or a place to watch a game and some simple, yet delicious, bar food and drink

It’s the early afternoon on a Sunday. All booths are filled(comprised mostly of people who were just drinking). As a person, our server seems awesome. She’s relaxed, personable, polite – a girl in her late twenties(who never offered her name). My buddy and I seat ourselves in the only available booth and immediately receive menus. The standard dive bar selection was to be expected, and, honestly, after drinking a bathtub full of Jameson the night before, the longing for a greasy meal was all-consuming. I should note several things before I continue: 1. I have worked in the restaurant industry as both a server and cook. 2. My grandfather taught me to be grateful for the meals that sustain me, to not be picky. 3. I’ve sent food back maybe twice in my entire life. I hate wasting food unless it’s inedible or completely wrong. I’m not a difficult customer. With that being said, I’ll make my point: Curbside, as has been agreed upon by just a few who I’ve spoken to, is one of the worst establishments I’ve been to in Richmond. Granted, it is my and my friend’s first time there, so this is a single experience, but nevertheless, it was an experience worth sharing with the public, as well as the establishment itself. After we sit down and receive waters, my amigo orders a mimosa – practically impossible to blaspheme. Alas, It is watered down, the champagne devoid of carbonation. The ice cubes were great, however. He is sad. I comfort him with the prospect of paying for lunch. Underwhelming mimosa is no big deal, though, I suppose. We order a couple burgers – mine medium rare/medium, his medium. Ten minutes passes. Ten more minutes. No sign of waitress, hostess, and the bartender is, well, tending bar. We look back to the kitchen where two greasy dudes with long hair drooping over there chest by means of ponytail are leaning over the grill cooking some delicious beef. We love beef. We are excited, and choose to overlook said health issue/icky disregard for kitchen etiqutte and standards(especially when they’re fully visible from all points of the seating area). Our burgers take 30 minutes to come out. Whatever. It happens. Backtrack: upon ordering, she asks if we wanted fries, so we assumed it would come with the $ 10 burger. The check reveals the sneaky ¢75 upsell per plate. I both resent and admire her bold deception, but I’m too famished to jokingly mention it. I need this foods inside of me ASAFP. The seasoned fries were not seasoned. Our server brings us seasoning in a little container and saves the day. As I bite into my burger, I see our server(the only visible server there) put on her coat, sling her purse over her shoulder, and walk right past us without asking how our food is. SHELEAVESTHEBARANDGOESHOME. After pointing out how strange that was, and assuming another server would be replacing her, the two of us bite into our burgers. Tear ducts have begun to produce droplets of joy, but quickly evaporate upon discovering that both of our burgers are over-cooked(straight up burned), with the patties resembling meatballs rather than burger patties. They are also unseasoned, and thusly mega bland. No one comes to our table for the remainder of our meal(about 25 more minutes). The patty is rock hard. I take three bites until I surrender. My buddy is semi-drunk(I’m not drinking), and says his burger is rather standard. I check it out… Burned to hell as well. I text him AA meeting schedules from across the table, as his most basic autonomic functions seem to be down for repair. I want to send at least MY burger back, but I literally can’t find anyone to whom I may convey this first-world problem. I finally just go up to the bar to get our checks, we pay(and both tip %18. Because we aren’t @$$h0Ie$), and survey the area for an employee to at least wave to, to acknowledge that we left cash on the table. This might be a convenient local dive for blacking out, but the food and service were pretty abysmal. We learned our lesson, so hopefully Curbside will do the same.

If you do anything with your life, get the buffalo chicken nachos. They might be the best thing I’ve consumed lately. Also, drinks are super cheap during happy hour, and it’s a longer happy hour than most other places.

Decent bar. Pretty good beer selection. Was only there for one beer because they didn’t have late night food and my group was hungry. I’d definitely go back and give it another try if I’m ever in Richmond again.

I love curbside! I am a little biased because I live within walking distance, but it is fantastic! They have great deals on drinks and Monday– Wednesday they have cheap cheap food! Burgers with a side for 5 $, yes please! When it’s nice outside, it’s a great place to sit out on the patio! Hanover and Robinson is not a terribly busy street so it’s not loud and you can easily chat with friends. Service is fast and the servers are nice. Love it!

Always a great Fan bar with great American food. Burgers are great — the Unicorn Burger is to die for. The place to be to have a beer with local Richmonders.

It’s Sunday afternoon in the fall and 3 of the 5 TVs are playing the same baseball game… oriels. while at least two NFL games are not on. All directed by tattoo guy Chris Orioles fan at the bar.

Curbside is great, I was bar hopping in the fan with a co-worker on a Thursday night, both our phones were dead and we had no idea what time it was, so after going in 2 bars asking what time it was, we decided to just go to Curbside, whose happy hour doesn’t end until 9. The place was pretty dead when we went in, but it was perfect for me. Thursday is their whiskey night, so house whiskey is only $ 2. PERFECT! The whiskey sours were great! The staff is really friendly, and everyone seems like family. Because of the knowledge of «Whiskey night», I found myself returning again on a Thursday night. This time, it was a bit more busy, but not packed. I ordered food this time the«Byrd Jr», which was delicious, which I did not expect! I also got the tots, which was again delicious. I got 4 whiskey sours that night, and 3 out of the 4 were delicious… no complaints here. Again, it was a different staff, but they were all VERY friendly. Curbside is definitely, a hole in the wall place, but I think that’s what I like about it. I’ll absolutely be returning… Probably on a Thursday night.

Second time being here for burger week and I must say it was the bomb! Last year’s burger week they made the«unicorn burger» which was the bomb. This year I tried the blue cheese burger. At first I thought it was going to be a thick and dry burger due to the cheese being inside. To my delight, it was actually pretty good! I was there for the happy hour as well so burger and beer always go hand in hand. Hopefully next years burger week will be just as good as I will be there!!!

Cool place and a good vibe on a Saturday night. The wings were great. Meaty, well cooked and flavorful. For others that turned them down, you need to try again. We really enjoyed this place and will definitely go back.

Most chill bar in the fan! I cannot think of a better, more relaxing place to be. Especially when it is nice and warm outside and you can sit on the patio. Service is always friendly and doesn’t take very long. Happy Hour specials are good and there are food specials every day of the week! Go there and catch a game, or have a nice easy breezy dinner with friends, or quick drinks after work! Great location, great food, great service, great atmosphere… just…GREAT!

Came in for brunch and waited for 45 min. I asked the waitress if the kitchen had started on our order and she said yes. She came back 5 min later and said they had not started on our food so we could leave if we wanted to. She and the staff were unapologetic and rude. We left. The place was not even full! TERRIBLE!

After walking by this place numerous times and seeing the patio packed, we decided to check it out. I wish I hadn’t. We walked it and it looked like it was trying to be a dive bar, but it sure didn’t accomplish that. We ordered two beers, the rib bites and the wings. What a bummer. All the food seemed prepackaged, the sauces came straight out of a bottle, and we had no desire to eat any of it. Our waitress was horrible. All she did was stand around and daydream. Seriously she had like one other table and it took at least a few minutes of waving her down to get some extra napkins. It will be a cold day in hell when I step back into this establishment.

One of the best waitresses ever works here(I’m not sure of her name, but blonde hair usually in a ponytail). Burger night is a good deal! An older interior, on a corner with high ceilings gives this place a classic feel. Outdoor seating is a plus, too.

Decided to check this spot out for happy hour on one beautiful warm Friday evening after work. Most of the few parties who were there when I arrived were on the patio, which is where I also decided to sit. Since I arrived after 4 and happy hour didn’t start til 5, I had a couple bottles of Woodchuck before deciding to try the buffalo chicken nachos. This appetizer came in a HUGE portion; my friend arrived just in time to split it with me. Though there are nightly dinner specials, happy hour is all about drinks. The servers were very friendly and seemed to have rapport with the regulars. The patio dining, food options, service, and happy hour specials offered at this pristine Fan location makes it very appealing to return and become a repeat customer myself!

Curbside Café used to be Barracuda’s and before that, John & Norman’s. The name has changed but the song remains the same. Yes, on the surface, they have updated their menu and have a big screen tv with Directv. But, they still offer very few vegetable choices on the menu and it is still way too dark inside. It is a same old same old scene and despite a few cosmetic changes, it still is uninspiring and lacks energy. The music is hit or miss and Saturday during the day is especially lame for music. It just isn’t that fun.
