Hours on here need to be updated. I was just turned away around 3:50pm and told in a rather unfriendly way they were closed. When I said I thought they were open until 6, the woman at the counter said to look at the hours on the door — they are now open until 4. Well, last I checked there were still 10 minutes left and she could have offered to serve me something to go, but she seemed to have no interest in being polite or engaging with a potential customer. Ok, fine, I’ll get my coffee elsewhere.

Ordered a Belgian waffle with a side of bacon and hash browns… got a «waffle» the size of a hash brown patty from McDonald’s…literally. It had chunks of what tasted like sugar… not sure but it was very off putting. The hash browns were like the frozen ones you buy in the store and toast and the bacon was cooked in the microwave. Actually, the entire meal looked and tasted like it was a frozen meal that was heated in the microwave. Left here and went to breakfast…

Mediocre at best and overpriced. Pastries are day old, I was told they need to heat it to make it not hard, huh? My latte was also way burned. Amateur hour here for sure.

I’m came here with my family while traveling and discovered this little gem; the service here was great and the food was excellent. I’d highly recommend this to everyone in the area.

For 13 dollars I had the ruben sandwich with an iced tea. The sandwich had one thin slice of meat and the side of coleslaw was barely 3 bites. Horribly overpriced for what you get, look elsewhere for lunch.

The best way to rate a café for me is to just get a simple coffee and bagel. That’s what I did. No froo-froo drink so that they have the chance to mask their terrible coffee, just plain black. I added milk and sugar and went in for a taste test. It was awful. Truly disgusting. I’ve had McDonald’s coffee and this is a close comparison, except this one has a weird aftertaste. It’s really really terrible. Honestly. And please refer to the picture of my bagel. The actual bagel is okay. I’m sure they aren’t the ones that bake them. And the cream cheese to bagel ratio isn’t terrible. It’s not ideal for me but it’s not bad so I’m sure someone out there will enjoy this ratio. But the problem is that they gave me a bagel that really looked like someone sat on it. Completely flat. All the soft and slightly gooey dough that is the inside of a bagel had been pressed into its crispy outer shell. SO disappointing. I mean really there are only a few ways to ruin a bagel, this is by far the most creative I’ve seen. It’s not burnt, there isn’t too much or too little cream cheese, it’s just completely smushed. Really, look at the pic, it’s hilarious. Overall this place is expensive and pretty bland, I vote no.

It’s close by my place so figure try it. Not good. The sandwich I ordered, shy on the meat! Barely anything. Nothing special about the flavor. Something that can be made at home. And t was $ 9! Not worth it. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back.

Ordered a breakfast burrito and expected a big yummy burrito. Instead is was an eight dollar, tiny kids meal wrap for 8 dollars. Greasy egg and cheese. 0 stars. Unbelievable.

The French vanilla latté is super yummy! Cute café and the pastries look delish. So far every visit whether it’s lunch, a snack or just coffee has been very pleasant. Thanks :)

Changed pastry vendors since they first opened, now not worth the price in my opinion. I’m a pastry fan, and was so sad to see that their pastries have gone way down hill. Food quality is not worth the price either. This place was so awesome when they first opened but I skip it now — just not worth the price.

My sister and I discovered this place on accident. It’s super cozy and the food is good. It’s not close to me, but I would go out of my way to go again.

This place sucks. The food is cheaply made. The pastries are not made in house. Had a croissant and was super dry I threw it out. My husband asked if they serve salsa with the breakfast burrito and his only response was«no.» My husband passed on the food. They own marina bay grill in the same plaza. The food there is mediocre as well. The reviews don’t lie. I hope my review isn’t taken down this time I said things much nicer! Food sucks, service sucks and that’s the truth.

I see the reason for overall 3* reviews and I agree. I expect a lot more and maybe that’s my fault for having high expectations With that being said, I can’t help but compare it against one of my favorite French cafés; Paris Baguette. Café Pascal unfortunately falls short. The price does not match the quality and especially in this area. I ordered : Vanilla Café Latte: the coffee was good but I have to wonder if it was a regular latte I was served since there was the slightest hint of vanilla… or maybe I imagined the vanilla to give the benefit of the doubt. French toast with side of bacon: overall, this was pitiful for the cost. The French toast was decent enough and prepared well. What I would expect from an IHOP not a French café. The crispy bacon, if you can call it that, was paper thin(literally) and tasted like bacon flavored wax paper. I also ordered a pastry, which was a tad on the dry side. It’s a shame because this place has a lot of potential. I probably won’t return unless I need a cup of coffee and i may just go find a Starbucks.

I have been having some great experiences eating at French Restaurants so I thought I would try this place out. Friday, I came in and ordered a French Toast and a Sandwich with a side of potato salad… it was the WORST! I can’t describe the food as decent, I feel I can make a better French Toast at home and it wasn’t on any brioche or fancy bread. They gave me a side of maple syrup that was generic and to go. They were not considerate when I asked if I could have another. It was package wrapped like when you ask for a package of ketchup to go from McDonalds. It’s a serve yourself diner. The sandwich was cold, and the potato salad was unexceptional — I’ve had better at Costco. I cannot even say I want to give this place any stars for the out-of-the-norm level of customer service. The old gentleman that rang me up was incredibly rude, when a fork dropped off the table and I ask if I can have a utensil(to eat the french toast with) he gave me one that was dirty and had bristles of napkin cloth on it, so I pointed that out to him and requested for another. The second fork was the same, so this time around I told him he didn’t need to give me another, just that I requested he run it thru hot water(at least to sanitize, whatever was on it) he looked back to me and said«no» I honestly stared at him and back to my table, he then looked to the cook and looked back and gave me a plastic fork and said«If you don’t like it, I just have this, I said sincerely, can I just get a utensil, and incredibly his answer was«no» «Talk about being rude!!! I tried to let it behind me, The café seems decent in ambiance and atmosphere. It’s not an upscale, fancy place, they served some samples and the pastries were incredibly stale, it tasted like days old. The people came in and out casually, a nice location, doors/windows open, they have a beat up old stereo, playing the most incrdible, pleasant music, so I cater it more to a sit down coffee shop. A place to go in and read the newspaper or magazine, or book. I would; However, underrate this restaurant significantly for the very poor level or customer service + quality and freshness of the food. I never want to eat there again actually! Unless, I am stuck and there is absolutely no other food around, I think Subway, next door is much more fresh, cheaper, and worth my money!

I’ve driven by this place on my way to/from work for the past 3−½ years. I finally went on Monday, 3÷23÷15, because I had some time to waste. I’ve heard so-so ratings about this place, as it’s the closest coffee shop to work. I ordered a double-shot espresso w/whip and a chocolate éclair. The espresso was good. But the éclair wasn’t fresh, as the bread for éclairs and cream puffs are of a dry variety and therefore should be covered when put away. I hardly buy them, but at this point, the ones at Raley’s or Safeway are better than the one here. They must’ve froze it and didn’t cover it with plastic when put away at the end of the day. Was like it was 2 – 3 days old. The chocolate on top was dry instead of creamy; like the way its been left out and the chocolate starts to crust over; the custard was okay.

I’ve been here twice now: once for lunch, once for breakfast. I do think the prices here are a little too high for what you get, and for the area that it is located in. The first time I came here for lunch, I got the lunch special, which was a turkey or ham sandwich with chips and a drink. I was a little disappointed at their chip selection, as it’s all of the generic selections(Fritos, Lays, Doritos). I would have like to see some Baked Lays, Kettle brand, or Sun Chips at least. The sandwhich was alright. I got avocado which caused my entire meal to go up to around $ 8. When I came for breakfast, I got the breakfast burrito(because how can you not on a Friday morning?). Although I thought it was pricey(came out to over $ 8), it was large and very good. Which is why I’m giving this place three stars as opposed to two. It wasn’t greasy, it was neat, easy to eat; however, I had to eat half of it until I got to any of the sausage. Can a girl get her sausage evenly distributed in her breakfast burrito? Is that too much to ask? The one thing that really, really makes my skin crawl about this place is that there are tons of flies flying around inside. Not only do flying insects bug me(pun intended), but it worries me that flies are landing on the food all day, since many of their items are sitting out in the open. In any case, this place is alright, but I do not intend on going back unless I crave another breakfast burrito.

This is a great gathering place for a breakfast and good fresh made sandwiches. Granted they’re not cheap but the food is great. Recently I sat here at a meeting over a sandwich and coffee for over an hour and no complaints from the owner. Oh, don’t forget to try their macaroons!

After giving it second, third, and fourth + tries, it really feels like a great place for lunch. The menu is exquisite, the owner is friendly and fun to talk with, and it just tastes good and feels right. Glad to know there is good eating in Richmond and hopefully I will be back soon.

I stumbled upon Café Pascal by using the Unilocal«Nearby» feature as I was out in Richmond on business and needed to find a close by lunch place. I’m glad I did. This little place is charming and full of character. French style character. Nicely setup, it has quintessential French café chairs and tables. I’ve been lucky to have been to Paris around 20+ times over the past 15 years and always liked sitting in those chairs. There was also live music. Very interesting for a lunch café in Richmond. Made me want to stick around longer. Nice touch. Surveying the menu, I was struck by the amount of choice yet it stayed within café character — not too much but not the typical limited menu most cafes have. I order the veggie panini. Sitting outside, there’s a very nice little patio area with the parking surrounding it but it still felt nice — not like you’re in a parking lot. Out came the food. On first glance, I liked what I saw — a French style panini. Not a squished American sandwich in a panini grill but an actual French style creation. Did I mentioned that it was about 5 minutes after we ordered? Good for a business lunch. How was it? I could have had two. It was the best panini I’ve had since I can remember. Service you might ask? Extremely personal. Exceptionally welcoming. Duly impressed. They made sure we had everything we needed, checked in without being overbearing and… this was for a café lunch, not an expensive restaurant. Café Pascal is right off the freeway in Richmond. Easy to get to. Instead of screaming by at 75, crank the wheel onto the offramp, hit the brakes and head into the parking lot for a great lunch. Now, I’ve only been there once and I don’t give many 5 stars… but in my opinion, Café Pascal is deserving. I’m pretty convinced that if I ordered anything else, I would be as impressed.

Ok, I came here for the second time. It’s time to write a review. I was thinking about giving it a 1 star but I didn’t because some times the food was good. Last time I came I ordered a sandwich, it tasted good and all but the bread was too hard! 2.5÷5 for that experience. Today I went there with two co-workers. My co-worker ordered a salad(he said it was good) and a water. When we got back to work he realized the girl didn’t give him his water. He was upset of course, he paid for it. And as for me I really wanted a slice of the chocolate cake. I asked the girl and she looked at it and said«They are stale. Did you want to order something else?» I ended up getting the chocolate chip and banana cake which was wrapped. I waited until my co-worker’s order was done and I noticed all the«stale» cake slices(about 8 of them) were still there. If I was her I would have thrown them away immediately after I say something like that to a customer, not put it back! Whatever, I was hoping the banana/chocolate cake would be better. Came to work, had a bite and felt it was stale. Made my co-worker try it and he agreed. Threw it away! So disappointed with what happened! It’s just cake but it could make someone sick… You never know. I probably wouldn’t return.
