What a disappointment! I would have given this restaurant two stars, but the man who took my order didn’t give me my receipt. I used a debit card and the transaction hit my bank before I got my order. Why do I know that? I was trying to figure out how long I’d been waiting before the order was filled, so I logged into my account using my phone. What happened: I went to the carry-out counter and ordered two items to take to my parents’, who had no power after a storm. Both items should have been ready to serve; sausage gravy & biscuits and potato soup. I waited and waited, watching while other people came & went, and finally I caught the manager’s eye and indicated I would like my order. The counter staff had dropped the ball. And the thing that was most telling… the place was not busy at all. With very few customers I expected to have my order filled pretty quickly. When Starbucks makes a mistake, they give you a coupon for a free drink on your next visit. Bob Evans offered me a drink to consume while waiting, as a courtesy for causing me to wait. I declined because I didn’t want them to make anything a priority before completing my order. They didn’t offered a coupon good for my next visit or to throw in a piece of pie. I shall not return to that Bob Evans again.

They did a great job feeding a hungry crew of baseball players after a tournament in Richmond. Well done Bob.

We had to come back to Richmond for a funeral arrived at the restaurant was seated immediately and that’s the last time we saw anybody 17 minutes later we got up and walked out and there was only four customers in the place it’s a shame this restaurant used to be pretty good but I guess the management is not doing its job

Last time we were in there, they cooked our food wrong and there were roaches in the jelly container on the table. If there was an option for no star stars I would select it. The company is not what it used to be.

Everything was cooked to near perfection. The sausage gravy was really«sausagey» and the French toast was perfect. Service was a tad slow for not being that busy.

You can order basted eggs, a plus! Biscuits, made daily. Great coffee! The rest, Meh! Major turn over the best I can tell. The restaurant looked better than I’ve seen it in a long time. The place simply looks, in my opinion, grungy! The carpet I have spoken to management over a yr. ago needs replaced. The tile never looks clean, again that’s my opinion. If it were my location it would be cleaned end from top to bottom. I’m not saying its dirty, it just looks that way. With the IHOP just down the street and a new Denny’s close buy, the old restaurant is looking long in the tooth, and that’s my opinion!

I know I really should base my review against other restaurants of this kind, you know… low expectations. Buuuuttttttttttt I can’t. I just don’t understand this kind of food, it’s gross. It’s not even inexpensive and gross… it’s actually sort of pricey for what you get. Today I had 2 overcooked, dry biscuits, some generic hash browns, and an unidentifiable piece of chicken fried steak. What’s weird is the description says it’s Sirloin, but it was clearly processed, pounded, reformed, varietal meats. Gross. Top that with a gelatinous«gravy» that tastes solely of black pepper and you’ve got a recipe for disaster. To make matters worse… my sunny side up eggs were served over easy. Yes people, there is a difference, and I know it’s «just an egg» but that makes it all the easier to not screw the two up. Our server was friendly, but the manager walking around with meth-addict like teeth really, really, really doesn’t add to the appeal of this place.( Unilocal recently removed a review of mine for saying a bartender had meth-addict teeth, so I suspect this one will be as well. That said, this isn’t a personal attack… service is a huge part of the restaurant business and that includes the appearance of the servers.) People, please, don’t waste money at places like this. Go to something family owned. Brick House Diner, Joe’s Inn, Virginia Diner, River City Diner, ANYTHING that’s not boasting menu’s designed by suits sitting in a corporate office that are smart enough to know NOT to eat this garbage.

Chose fhis location because I stayed at the comfort inn next door and their cintinental breakfast looked horrible, so we walked over to Bobs. The staff was great, very nice and our waitress was very attentive. No complaints. We did notice that the place was crawling with elderly people who all seemed to know everyone. No coincidence. One old guy sat across from us, the waitress greeted him, then immediatly got him his coffee and breakfast without him uttering one word of what he wanted. Clearly they take care if their regulars. We ordered fruit smoothies instead of the regular OJ with breakfast, they were strawberry and blueberry, nice combnation and very thick and delicious. Waitress was thoughtful enough to bring water without us asking, i like that. I think that should be a gimme… Shouldnt have to ask. When breakfast came, we had the«farmers choice» which is basically 2 eggs, crepes or pancakes, fried potatoes or hashbrowns and bacn or sausage. I chose Strawberry crepes, bacon, fried potatoes and scrambled eggs with cheese. Everything tasted good, only complaint I could make is the fried potatoes were cooked a little hard… But tasted good, so they get a pass I suppose. The restaurant reminded me of a watered down version of cracker barrel, they sell little nick nacks and food items in jars by the door. But arent as cluttered with junk, and no stuff on the walls. Overall, the place and experience was great, I would go back. Prices are slightly higher than cracker barrel, but food was good.

The place was busy, but the food was sub-par. We came here because Denny’s was too busy to wait, and I much rather would have waited at Denny’s. Ordered the hotcakes with breakfast potatoes. The hotcakes were a bit overcooked and the potatoes were undercooked and barely had any seasoning. My husband’s chicken fried steak left something to be desired as well. The menu is quite limited. Bathroom was clean and restaurant wasn’t too dirty. Staff was friendly. Maybe it’s okay if you’re staying at the hotel next door, but there are lots of other restaurants in the area. We won’t go back.

the service here is USUALLY great.(we have had a less than perfect visit or two). we love to come here for Sunday brunch, ‘specially when we have company visiting. The food is always perfect for a late breakfast and they have a greeter here that will totally make you smile.
