DO NOT BUY A COSTUME FROM RUBIE’S! What is not included on their product descriptions is that some of their material is toxic which made my newborn break out in a rash from head to toe, the toxic hair of the infant lion costume WILL go in your baby’s mouth, and even though it is sized for 0 – 6 months, it WILL NOT fit. And after you’ve made alterations to it to try and make it work despite it’s major shortcomings, Customer Service DOES NOT REFUND or take responsibility for potential allergic reactions and ILL FITTING SIZE. Again, DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER! Their product is dangerous and not worth your baby’s health.

Just purchased a costume about two days ago we tried it on at the store and it seemed ok. It was an inflatable costume so we get home and inflate if and realize it’s too big for my son. I call and now I’m told nothing can be done. I don’t want money back just wanted something different that would fit him. And now I’m stuck with a costume that doesn’t fit and nothing can be done. I’m extremely upset and will not be returning to them. I understand no money back but not being able to change a size or change for something different is crazy.

Remodeled with animatronics to entertain kiddies. Loads of selections for adults and kids. My go to place for costumes.

I went to Rubie’s for the first this past Tuesday (10÷14÷14). The customer service was great. They were very helpful. There was a good selection of costumes. I found a great costume that I feel no one else will be wearing which I love. I’ve received compliments for my costume from people I’ve given a sneak peek to. And it was affordable. Highly recommended.

About two-​three years ago I bought my costume in Rubie’s and hated the layout. Last Friday I was pleasantly surprised to see a more organized store with a variety on costumes. I was looking for a fairy costume. I found a cute purple/​lilac one. Unfortunately I wanted a size small and not extra small, but only the small had the purple wings I wanted. I asked a sales associate and she kindly changed the color for me. I trusted that when she exchanged the wings all would be okay. I didn’t try the costume at the store because a lady was taking quite awhile with her children. I trusted the costume would be fine. At home I noticed my arm sleevelets were missing. Highly upset because they looked so cute. & the store does not do returns which is acceptable, but not even exchanges. I wish the sales associate would of checked the costume when she gave it to me and I wish I had checked too.

Ive been coming here for over 15 years. The costumes are of good quality. Very affordable prices. You can find anything from décor, accessories, animetronics, to anything you can imagine for Halloween. There are fitting rooms for an unlimited amount if try ons.

Awesome place! It gets crowded in October as expected. But they usually have plenty of staff during peak hours. Prices are appropriate I would say. They have expensive high end stuff and cheap low end stuff too.

I go to Rubie’s every year for a Halloween costume. The service is fantastic and the prices are decent.

Buyer beware! The costumes are old and smelly, gross! They sell incomplete costumes, very overpriced. You are better off going anywhere else.

Stepping inside you see that Rubie’s has a large selection, I had a limited amount of time and three kids to buy costumes for the staff was helpful. I feel the costumes are a little overpriced.

Apparently this place is a main stay on Jamaica avenue and is a costume provider for many other costume shops around the world.
I was really impressed they have all the packaged costumes you can get any where but didn’t see a lot of special things for personal customizations. There are masks and a few wigs but nothing to mix and match to create something personal.
Big shop friendly staff but I didn’t see anything to special, just a few things for my gf to try on.
