This is one of those places that I want to keep a secret because it’s so good. I’ve been 3 or 4 times now(yes I know it’s taken me too long to review it). — the food is incredible. So much flavor. Probably the most authentic Dominican food in the outer boroughs. According to my bf only his mom and maybe places in DR could compete with it. Everything is clearly carefully made and while there are some creative takes on things, they stick to traditional flavors and dishes and it works. Atmosphere at this spot is nice and they often have live music late at night. It’s easy to get to, right off the J train.

I can honestly say I was looking forward to coming to this restaurant. Only to be disappointed at the experience. The staff are unhappy individuals that make you want to walk out and leave. Not one person had a smile the entire time I was there. The waitress had an attitude problem out the gate. Everything I asked for they«didn’t» have. The food took forever and a day to come. And it was cold. The waitress never came to refill out drinks nor ask if everything was OK. They have a kids menu but NO kids drinks nor kiddie cup options. Please tell me how that works??? On Mother’s Day they had a prefixed menu but it wasn’t available, huh?!! I will not be returning to the restaurant. I may still order as delivery as the food does taste good(when its hot). It took the waitress forever to bring us the check. We were being ignored the entire time. We even cleaned our own table and still waited. When the check finally arrived, we were over charged for the kids menu. I would’ve been an excellent returning customer. But after this experience never again.

Amazing food but the music is always so loud. I understand that it does turn into a bar/lounge after 11 but it would be nice to be able to have a conversation or even hear the staff. The section and flavor of the food is AMAZING. I’ve lived in the neighborhood for almost 25 years and finally stumbled across the whole in the wall…

My husband baby and I went this afternoon. We had a great time. There’s a lot of space and a bar where you can catch up with the games. The waiter was very attentive and nice. The food and drinks were amazing ! Definitely take advantage of the groupon deal. It makes a difference. The pechuga de Valle, it was amazing ! I inhaled my food ! It was so so good. And the bulldog drink gets you feeling nice. Great time

I’ve eaten here several times out. My friend and I usually order the seafood paella which is served in adorable mini pots. The taste of the food is so great and very authentic. I would also recommend a cocktail to go with the amazing food they serve here, they are fruity and not too strong.

Been wanting to check this spot out for a while now. I am glad I did on a Saturday night. It was busy but our waitress was nice and always attentive. I had ordered a strawberry mojito and my friend had one of their specialty drinks. We ordered two appetizers which were great portion to share and very flavorful. The music gets louder around 10:30 pm and turns into a lounge. It was busy so the service was a little slow but will definitely come back to check out the rest of their menu options!

It was Valentine’s Day & we stopped in for lunch. Yes, there was a pre fix menu $ 45 you can’t go wrong! The red décor was nice, they had balloons, candles lit & music playing. The waitress/host katia was attentive & friendly. It was pretty empty, so the service was fast. We ordered appetizers(Plaintains/shrimp & beef wrapped in bacon) for entrees the sirloin steak & lobster tail over steak & dessert the flan & tres leche. The food was scrumptious!!! The drinks(strawberry yun yun & crazy eddy) were addictive! We had 3! I will def come back!

I’m in love with the food here !! I’m upset I didn’t take a picture of our appetizer it was totones(fried green plantains) with guacamole top off with cocktail shrimp. Let’s talk about my strawberry yun yun drink ha I felt like a grown kid because it’s like a snow cone in a glass. I am in LOVE with my main dish the pechuga de pollo omg it’s mash yuca(casava) with a creamy breaded chicken stuff with yellow plantain. It’s big enough to share & so good that I brought some home for the next day. I can’t wait to go back and try other items on their menu. Pretty cool spot & the ambiance gives you a feel of the Dominicana Republic. Go check this place out if you are in the area & want great food, service & ambiance !

The food was really good! I had the fried fish with a garlic sauce it was one of the best fish I have had!!! My bf had the skirt steak with shrimp he said it was delicious! Will def recommend this little spot, I felt like I was back in DR! The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of the service it wasn’t the worst but not the best!!! Oh and don’t forget to check on you get a free dessert!!!

I’ve been meaning to come here since I first saw it on Unilocal.Today we decided to come have lunch and I found The place is a cute spot with nice décor. For starters we asked for potato croquettes and turnovers with crabs but there wasn’t any crab today so we had beef and chicken. We couldn’t tell the difference between the two but they were good either way. As an entrée I ordered the Yuccafongo. I love yucca and I’ve never had this dish. I did enjoy the meal with a Mango smoothie. We also ordered the Dominican hamburger which was good as well. I had used the Unilocal deal as well as checked in for the free dessert. After I placed the order. They said they didn’t have the flan so I had to settle for the Tres Leche which wasn’t my fave. Service was a bit slow considering that it was practically empty but the food made up for it. My concern came when we gave the waitress a $ 20 for the remaining $ 9 of the bill after the deal and she never returned with the change. Granted we were giving her a tip, but she didn’t even ask. Just took the $ 20 and didn’t return.

Awesome place to eat on Jamaica Ave. Pechuga DE Valle. Just get it. Had it split between three people and we had our fill. It was empty when we went 5:30 on a Thursday. The happy hour is till 8 so get your cheap shots for 3 $ bucks then. Food was insane. Nowhere better to eat on the Avenue portions were decent. And drinks were well priced. Will be going there again. A+++ Also a free dessert when you mention Unilocal?Uhhh… HELLYEAH?!

I came to Crazy Willy’s while on a date with my husband. We were looking for a bar/restaurant in which we could enjoy a nice dinner while watching a baseball game. Upon entering the restaurant, my husband and I were very surprised at how authentically Dominican the place felt. Everything from the furniture, artwork, and music transported us back to our home country. Although quite modest in its appearance, Crazy Willy’s provides a nice ambience. We were also pleasantly surprised by how good our food tasted and how nicely the food was presented. I ordered a savory vegetarian eggplant dish that was creamy and came with a side of tostones. My husband ordered the Ave Marina; grilled chicken breast wrapped around smaller pieces of shrimp. This dish was accompanied with a red pepper stuffed with yellow rice and a side salad. He really enjoyed his dish and devoured every morsel. Both dishes averaged out to $ 26 total, including tax(which we felt was a great price for the large portions). The only reason I can’t give this place a full 4 is because the service was extremely slow. Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating, but our food took a very long time to arrive and she didn’t come to check up on us unless we flagged her down. There were only 2 waitresses for about 6 tables, so they did seem pretty busy. We also weren’t too impressed with our dessert. It was a tres leches cake that tasted great, but it took about 30 minutes to get to our table. We weren’t even in the mood to eat it anymore by the time it arrived. We also noticed that the cakes come pre-packaged and are not made on premises. We had an overall good experience at Crazy Willy’s. The positives with this restaurant far outweigh any negatives. We will be back for more. Next time, for drinks!

I decided to come here with a friend on my 3 hour break from school at Queens College. We came on a Tuesday at 1 in afternoon. It was empty, but the staff was ready to serve. We were greeted with a hello and smile(you guys know I love that) from a handsome gentleman who told us we could sit anywhere we would like. We decided to sit at the bar in front of those two large screen televisions. The décor is great! It’s very spacious. It has a Caribbean theme to it. The chairs are kind of heavy so beware. They aren’t the most comfortable. They have pictures and little antiques sitting around. They even have a log themed wall that holds a fish tank. Super cool. Our waitress/bartender was very informative about the drinks. I ordered the«Crazy & Loco» which was their signature mojito. It was BOMB! The bartender really sold me on that drink, I ordered another. My friend got the«Crazy Eddy» which he liked. Then we ordered the clams as our appetizer which wasn’t all that, but it was tasty. On to the the FOOD! I ordered the the most popular dish on the menu which was the Pechuga de Valle. It is fried chicken stuffed with sweet plantains, with a side of delicious mashed Yuca and a salad with Italian dressing. Man that dish is so good. The flavors blended so well together. The idea of stuffing sweet plantains in chicken blew my mind. It gives the chicken the right amount of sweet, tasty goodness. My friend got the Ave Mariana, which was shrimp mixed with chicken, with a side of Spanish rice and a salad. That was also delicious. The flavors that these dishes deliver are just amazing. If you check-in this restaurant on Unilocal, you get a free dessert with any Entrée you order. So I decided to get the Tres Leche. I expected it to be small, but they gave me a nice big slice of it, with a beautiful plating presentation. I would recommend this place hands down. The food is great, the drinks are even better. I can’t wait to come back on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday just to experience the late night service this restaurant has to offer.

I’ve always wanted to come here and I finally had the chance to. Of course I had my eye on the Pechuga De Valle. Which is the stuffed chicken breast with plantains. Before I venture into the food let me start off by giving you a run down of the quaint spot. A previous reviewer mentioned that CW can accommodate between 65 – 75 people, but I don’t see that happening. I think seating would be scaled down if you visited here. The ambience reminded me of a luau. From the décor to the drinks. The chairs are unbelievably heavy and awkward. They were uncomfortable and provided no support whatsoever, but don’t let that deter you from stopping by. We sat at the bar where we were greeted by a young girl, I didn’t catch her name but she was sweet. Both bartenders actually functioned as waitresses as well. The place was pretty empty, but the music was blaring at an obnoxious level. It was hard to have a conversation and watch the underweight boxing match that played on the tvs that aligned the bars ceiling. I ordered the Pechuga De Valle because of the rave reviews and also it was the only thing on the menu I had my heart set on. It usually comes with mashed Yuca and a House Salad but I opted for Rice and Beans instead of the Yuca. My meal was delicious, with true authentic flavor, and a delightful mix of Caribbean fun on my palate.

Amazing! The waitress we had, I believe her name was Thalia, was extremely attentive and so sweet. There was no wait, we went last night(Friday) 8pm. We had the Calamari for appetizer which was ok… The entrees were superb! My friend had the Pechuga Rellena… Which consisted of chicken breast stuffed with plantain and mashed yuca on the side, we all picked from each-other’s dishes and this one was our absolute favorite! Highly recommend. The rest of us ordered the Mofongo. One with chicken and 2 of shrimp. They were all tasty but the best one was the Caramofongo with white sauce! So delicious. As for drinks, we all enjoyed them. We had the bulldog style strawberry drink, a flavored Mojito, piña colada and(I forgot the name lol) a strawberry flavored cone drink. All of them were good really; the piña coloda tasted so coconutttyyy… Mmmmm lol one of the best I’ve ever had. The bulldog one was good and big enough that I only had one, everyone else had a second round of whatever they ordered. The Mojito I wasn’t a fan of(I never liked mint too much) but my sister loved it… & our favorite drink of all and HIGHLYRECOMMEND is… :drumroll: that strawberry cone drink! My god was it good! & strong also Overall, we had a great experience and will definetly be back soon! The ambience was cool as well, tropical looking & the hookah smell wasn’t overwhelming. We may try it next time! Only tip I would give them is to put heat in the restroom, please. Lol. It was like a fridge in there, but a clean one
