Worth the visit. Wine, food and service was fantastic. John, our server, knew to give us space and didn’t stop by the table too often. We had a bottle of the 2013 Connor Lee Conflict which was a perfect blend and also ordered the Chili Lime Steak Tacos and Avocado Fries. We were going to order dinner but got a little cold outside but the atmosphere was great. Will return!

Good service, delicious food! And great wine. My only suggestion would be… please take away my empty dirty plates. I’m a bit picky about this. But if you come to the table and there’s a finished plate or glass… take it away please. Yummy pizza and housemade sausage! Can’t wait to go back and try more food items. And drink more wine.

Overpriced, small servings with slow service. My first visit was not a good one. They had our server responsible for 2 outdoor areas that are on different sides of the building. This resulted in slow service, forgotten items, and being completely ignored when trying to get attention for refills. He was sprinting from table to table though, so he was trying as hard as possible over a management blunder… so I gave a good tip anyways. I had the garlic chicken, which was 1 small thigh, which wasn’t anything to rant and rave about, along with a small serving of potatoes and 4 asparagus. Hardly worth the $ 24 dollars price tag. They may be $$ rated, but expect to pay at the higher end of the $$ range. I’m glad Taco Bell is open 24 hours, because I had to do 4th meal with how small the portion size was. All in all, a horrible experience.

Seriously can’t say enough good things about this place. We come to Richland twice a year for wine country visits and J. Bookwalter is a stop we always make. This visit we had the bacon wrapped dates, the Smoke Steelhead Pizza, the Duck Ramen and the Crème Brulee. Everything from the wine, to the appetizer to the entrees, dessert and wine is fabulous and the service is always exceptional. Bookwalter’s is a must visit for us on every trip!

Omg so good. My boyfriend and I sat out on the patio after being moved from right next to the kitchen. We ordered two flights of red wine, the Caesar salad with salmon, fennel sausage pizza, and lamb chop. Everything was delicious! Our server Anthony was amazing, he checked on us constantly and even split the caesar salad for us which was so nice! The crust on the pizza couldn’t have been better and I’ve never had a salad with a fried egg before, but it was amazing. The other servers were also around if we needed anything, so we never felt like we were waiting around. I can’t say enough great things about Anthony though, he recommended places to visit in walla walla, and encouraged us to taste a few other wines before we purchased, and we fell in love with the rose and the volume 3 Cabernet. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

I really like it here! The coffee is amazing!!! But it closes very early and it is very very expensive especially for milk alternatives

Went for a nice glass of wine. The wine selection wasn’t too great, mostly Bookwalter wines, but that’s ok. It was expected. I did think that prices were a bit steep. The cheapest wine was 7.00 for a 6oz pour. That’s a bit steep. My wife had a the 2015 Chenin Blanc, and I had the 2014 Syrah. Both were great wines. I wouldn’t have minded the prices if the service wasn’t so bad. Our server came 2−3x within 10 minutes asking us if we had decided yet. She didn’t ask us if we needed any suggestions or had any questions. When we asked for our wine, it came promptly but she poured us the 9oz pour without asking us, which is as expensive as it gets without buying a bottle. So we ended up paying $ 33.00 for 2 glasses of wine. Within 10 minutes of getting our wine, without us asking, she gave us our check. She did not ask us if wanted more wine, or how our wine was. 5 minutes later… she was back again, asking us if we paid our check yet. And again…10 minutes later. It’s hard to enjoy a glass of wine when you are constantly being interrupted and you really get the feeling you aren’t welcome. I could buy Bookwalter wines for a lot cheaper than what they are charging. I will pay 40 bucks for wine, but only if the service is very good. I won’t be returning.

Have always had a pleasant experience here. Good food, nice atmosphere, especially in the summer in the semi outdoor seating

The food is generally pretty good here. My first experience was for a promotion I got at work and made a reservation. I had arrived there and someone actually took my reservation… I don’t know how that happens since I’m pretty sure I was the only one named Eden who made a reservation that night… But I didn’t need to wait anyway and the food was spectacular! I promised I’d come back. I went there last night with a few of my friends and I was so excited to eat what I had last time but sadly they changed the entire menu. What I ordered wasn’t bad but wasn’t nearly as good as what I’d gotten before which is too bad.

What a great experience! Friendly and attentive service, tasty fresh food and the wine is divine! I was greeted in person at the door! No kiosk with a hostess staring at a computer screen here. I had cauliflower soup — which was delicious. The wine flight led me to the best choice for my second glass of wine. Altogether fulfilling.

Love coming to this place. Their wine is great and the quality of the food is even better. When the weather is right, their outdoor seating provides a great way to take in some Tri-Cities scenery.

My Husband and I had visited once before, and received awful service. We asked for a bottle of wine that was listed, and the total for the wine was $ 15 more than the listed price. They still wouldn’t honor the advertised price. We visited last week for my birthday and since it was a Tuesday night, and close to closing time, we figured we were pushing our luck. To be pleasantly surprised is an understatement. The food was delicious and even though we were the last people there, we were treated with kindness and respect, with not push to leave or get us out the door. I appreciated waitress and her human personality.

Wine was pretty good, the service was nice, the setting was great. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio enjoying the sunset. However, the food is WAY overpriced for what you get. If the flavor had been there, it would be worth it for the small portions, but it just wasn’t there. Go here for wine and appetizers, go elsewhere for dinner.

This is definitely my favorite restaurant in the Tri-cities. Interestingly the summer menu is a lot better than the fall/winter one in my opinion, especially the rib-eye steaks, which are among the best I’ve had anywhere. Absolutely need to try their Waygu Zabuton steak, unbelievably tasty. This time I had the Habanero Burger, also very good. Highly recommended place!

Who doesn’t love this place!!! A staple for after work happy hour or group gatherings on the weekend. This place always has an awesome crowd and feels like a place you need to be at. They have awesome staff and a surprisingly awesome food menu that trumps most upscale restaurants in town. They bring in good bands and make you glad you didn’t decide to go to a local bar on a friday night. The wine speaks for itself and is always good. Highly recommended and lappdaddyapproved

Get: Bacon-wrapped Dates($ 8) A Glass of Antagonist Syrah(~$ 9 [discounted]) Pro-tip: Show up late on a Sunday and enjoy half-priced glasses of wine! There’s a lot this place has to offer insofar as wine, food, and ambiance — but I’ve really only scratched the surface on ONE recent visit. So it’s probably worth the effort to become a frequent visitor. Here was my experience: On a sneaky date night excursion, my wife and I sat outside on a lovely covered brick patio on some reasonably-comfy cushioned deck furniture and made our way down the apps and wine menu. The staff was friendly but a little anxious to close up shop since we were playing the role of Johnny-come-lately. We were delighted to know that glasses of wine were half off on Sundays and naturally abided accordingly. My wife had the Antagonist Syrah and I had a Cabernet mix that I want to say was called the Protagonist but I can scarcely recall. Hers was quite good, mine was fair. We snuck in two appetizer orders before the kitchen closed: Bacon-Wrapped Dates($ 8) and Avocado fries($ 7). While the fries lacked a salty seasoning that the avocado begged for(sriracha and a spicy sauce tried to help), the dates were quite good. With thick bacon, goat cheese, marcona almond, and a tasty cab jelly, these bites were a nice little wine pairing. Overall we had a good experience and will return happily. I don’t think we have an interest in paying full price for the wine so expect to see us occupying a corner some Sunday night. Positives: Great atmosphere, diverse menu with nice presentation, decent wine Negatives: Pricey, parking can be scarce

I love this place in the summer time. Great wine. Service is usually great. The patio is always entertaining. I LOVE the crab cakes! It’s a great place to take friends and family. Kids can sit in the patio and they have a horse shoe game if you walk up a bit.

We did a low-key tasting on a Saturday afternoon, after stopping by another winery. We sat at the bar, and were able to order munchies(meat & cheese plate — that was good), as well, so that was nice. A lot of the wines on the menu were sold out and unavailable, which is always disappointing, but we still had a nice selection. I wasn’t in love with any of the ones we tried, so we didn’t end up buying anything(the tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle of a certain price range — I forget what it is, exactly — sorry!), but we didn’t like anything enough. Service was brusque and not really fabulous; I’ve had much better service at other tasting rooms and restaurants. We asked about some of the items on the meat & cheese plate and the server didn’t know the answers or offer to find out. Not a huge deal, but pretty reflective of the whole experience. Maybe the restaurant is better — we’ll have to give that a try.
