I have had horrible experience with them. The furniture we had delivered was put together wrong TWICE and DESTROYED pieces while doing it. My husband had to help put it together to make sure it was correct(even though we paid for it to be built.)They contacted us two to three times afterwards about delivering the same furniture because they didn’t put it in their system we had already gotten the furniture. I tried to return something I used store credit/rewards with and they would only give me $ 16 back for an item that was $ 40. Then went back last night to get something that was out of stock. It took the employee 30 minutes to order it then tell me I couldn’t use store credit and price match the item. Two managers couldn’t figure out how to do it. I’ve wasted so much time in the store talking to the staff and the costumer service is terrible(in Bloomington). Everything is overpriced too! Never going back!

One of the worst retail experiences ever. Store wasn’t even busy, yet there were no associates anywhere to offer any help. Had to print a registry, and the machine was beyond clunky and slow. Then, the checkout process took over 30 minutes due to a customer ahead of me with a large purchase and transaction issues. No associates came to open another register. 20 minutes later when someone finally did, the associate was not knowledgable with the system and didn’t even print me a gift receipt, yet I was purchasing from a registry I provided to her. Will never be coming back to this store again.

I really wanted to avoid this store, but we have a ton of BRU gift cards so we’re thinking of buying a chair for the baby’s room here. Their selection is OK and you can try out the floor models. I found their service just OK. They had a binder with various styles/colors and when I asked about availability of a particular style/color combo the person helping me simply went to and told me that combo didn’t exist(even though it does in the nice hard-copy binder they keep, and along iwth the color swatches they have next to the chair we liked!) If all you’re going to do is check the regular website, I might as well do that myself and stay home. Also, I think this store is just too overwhelming and there is just too much«Stuff» that confuses the crap out of a new mom like me. The clothes are almost all character-driven(Disney overload) and have tons of «cute» sayings like«My Grandma Spoils me» and«I’m a ladies’ man.» If you’re in to that sort of thing, great. If you just want some basic onsies you can get those at Target, or, heck, hit up the Goodwill store. We also have a lot of friends/family without kids and I hate the idea of registering here and making them visit this store. You can get the same stuff on Amazon and a lot of the basics at Target.

I have a 4 month old baby, so in the past 12 months I’ve been here a LOT! I have had mostly only POSITIVE experiences here, too! I registered at BRU but I did it ONLINE and never actually came into the store. I really recommend at least starting online because then you can compare all of the items. As mentioned previously they have a LOT of choices! Once you have an idea of what you like, its a good idea to go in. Their staff is all very knowledgable about the products. When buying my stroller/carseat(I went for the Britax and we LOVE it!) the guy was super helpful and let me take down all the models and try them out. He told me pros and cons about each item and also gave me space/time to think and returned to see if I had any further questions. Buying diapers/wipes/other things at BRU can be a bit overpriced, BUT they do have good coupons and great sales! Today they had wipes on sale for $ 1 a pack! Only negative is that the line to check out is often long! They have to be paging people up to the front all the time. I guess one minute there is no one and the next there are 10 people waiting to check out. Hit or miss I guess!

Step one — confirm pregnancy. Step two — let the shopping begin! Okay, okay, so not really like that… but for someone who is a complete shop-a-holic, not shopping for tiny-human things has been OH. SO. TOUGH! We finally decided to start our registry, but only for the larger manly things that my signficant other could feel manly shopping for. Pretty sure we had bullseyes on our foreheads and arrows pointing to us with signs screaming, «FIRSTTIMEPARENTS» because the second we walked in, the registry lady screamed out, «HELLO! Can I help you?!» We filled out some quick paperwork, got a rundown of what was what, he got a fancy scanning gun(which he absolutely loved), and we were on our way. The registry lady(God bless her heart) recommended starting with the big items(car seat, strollers, bedding), then moving on to any of the smaller things(bottles, pacifiers, toys, etc). This is where freak out moment number one happened. We walked in to the car seat aisle and I started crying. There are A LOT of carseats. A LOT. I couldn’t breathe. I had my files of research running through my head of consumer researches and feedback, but this… this was A LOT! «Uh, why are you crying? You can’t cry. You’re SHOOOOPPING. You’re in your element.» I know… but still. Babies R Us has SO. MANY. THINGS. Hence the tears. But they have so much that can be found online and shipped for free(if over $ 100). You can also select something online and have it ready to pick up in store(3-hour advance notice). They definitely have A LOT of great deals/programs/everything baby you could possibly need. We found that this place is great for that(no, not crying) — the BIG ticket items. A lot of the little/every day things can definitely be done at Target… and perhaps for a little bit cheaper… and perhaps a little easier to find. Just bring some tissues.

I had a good experience learning about strollers and car seats from one of their associates, Elizabeth. She was extremely patient with me, knowing I wasn’t buying that day… she showed my mom all the features and benefits of several products, and really knew her stuff. I think BRU is a good place to register for basic items and for some baby furniture(esp. if you are on a budget). There isn’t anything fancy here, and subscribing to their e-mail is worth it just for the coupons. I will say that I loathe the Bloomington parking lot, that is the only drawback.

Ignorance plays a large role in the rating of this business. I don’t know what makes a great baby superstore except for a large quantity of stuff. And this place has a ton of stuff. Maybe to much stuff? I had no idea there were so many nipple choices for bottles. I had no idea how much crap a baby required. Do they really need all this stuff? The customer service people must see alot of deer in headlights looks, because they were patient and helpful in maneuvering us to where we needed to go. I recommend going with a ton of energy because, aside from the size, the overall environment is exhausting – very pregnant women, lots of crying/noisy(almost one in the same to me) babies, and lots of lost dads.
