Not the cheapest but quite good. The pork chops are very good as are the shrimp tacos. A newcomer to the hood but great addition.

The salsa was flavorful and spicy, the margarita was strong, and my meal, the shrimp stuffed avocado was very good. The only thing I will ding them on is that the shrimp was a bit overcooked and thus dry, but not to the point of being inedible. My bf had the chicken nachos and they were delicious. I would go back again, especially M-F 4 – 7, it’s HH and margaritas are ½ off. They don’t seem to do much advertising or keep up with social media, hopefully they will stick around. When we drive by(which is often) it usually looks pretty empty. There were only a couple other tables during our visit. They need to engage more with the community and get people in there.

So it says fine dining so I thought you had to be dressed up and you don’t the inside does this place no justice it doesn’t look good on the inside. But the owner is very nice and very sales oriented I had the route to orange fish and it was so good it was really good and we will be back the margaritas are awesome too.

My wife and I eat here almost every week. It is the best Mexican restaurant we have found in the Richardson area. For our money, the food and service is much better than Mi Cocina. We don’t drink, so have no issue with the margaritas. Have tried most of the items on the menu and found no duds. Sure hope they survive. Cannot understand why they are not always crowded.

The food quality is definitely high and everything we had tasted fresh, but if this restaurant wants to survive in this area, it probably needs to rework the whole menu somehow and take the prices down about a third. If you want people in a basic suburban North Texas neighborhood to make it a regular stop for Mexican or Tex-Mex, it’s not going to happen in the $ 15 – 20 range for entrees. The menu also features a $ 10 bowl of queso. Just sayin’.

The most delicious duck tacos ever! Came with a creamy habanero sauce on the side. My sweetie ordered the bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp which was as good as the duck. We’re already planning to bring friends and family on our next adventure. The owner was onsite and helpful as we made selections. Yummy — definitely best find in 2015

Just had lunch for the second time and it is amazing. Great lunch menu and prices and the service is over the top. Highly recommend

The owner really needs to hire a full manager and get social media going to rev up this place or else it will close just like everything else around here. I highly suggest paying attention to this little gem, they suck and bacon tacos are on point as are red enchiladas. I’d hate to see this place go due to bad ownership or no oversight. This place needs to stay in our neighborhood

Great fine dining Mexican food with WOW margaritas. The owner also owns Habanero’s Grill in the Stockyards in Fort Worth so I thought I’d try it. It is hidden behind McDonalds at Coit and Beltline in Richardson.

First was the chips and salsa. The chips stank of old grease. You could smell the stink off them from across the table. Table side guacamole had a pretty good flavor(could have used more lime), but without chips to eat it with, it seemed a waste. As others have said, the corn tortillas are very small around, and very thick. Almost, but not quite a quarter of an inch thick. Two dollars for an order of three. I ordered spicy beef enchiladas. There was some unidentifiable taste to them, perhaps the beef. Oddly they weren’t at all spicy. Someone else at my table said the rice on their entrée was undercooked. The nachos were pretty good, and the one thing I had there I didn’t regret ordering. On a side note there were several light bulbs out, three in the room I was in. Perhaps it’s a little thing but when the ceiling is painted black, missing lights really stand out. There was also neon that was out on the wall outside. It has been compared to Mi Cocina and I can see the comparison. Based on the price and dish composition that seems to be what they were going for. They failed miserably. At half the price this would be a mediocre hole in the wall that you might go to if you had some time to kill but needed to stay in the neighborhood. At this price point, it’s a bad joke that no one is laughing at.

Las Brazas occupies the space formerly held by Dos Rios, our Neighborhood Tex-Mex favorite. So We were anxiously awaiting the opening of Las Brazas, a more Mexico City-Style Menu. What a refreshing change of décor! Very sleek, cool and serene, upscale, with the glass view to the kitchen. Our Server was pleasant and attentive, even tho’ the place was full. The bar choices were excellent, with Las Brazas Happy Hour margaritas. I ordered Patron on the rocks. Very PRICEY! Our food was DELICIOUS! Especially the rice pilaf, slightly sweet with plantain? Ordered Avocados filled with Ceviche, enough for2, and sour cream Enchiladas. The new owner came by our table to check on everything. All was perfection! Their main competitor would be Mi Cocina. I sincerely hope owner addresses the issues mentioned in other reviews! Welcome to the Neighborhood, Las Brazas! We are looking forward to our next visit!

Had one of the best fresh Mexican dinners tonight! Not typical Tex Mex, so if that is what you want this is not for you bur if you are looking for perfectly prepared fresh Mexico style cuisine at a reasonable price point this restaurant is for you!!! Repeat best table side guacamole, Pozole homemade corn tortillas and flan that brought me back to memories of my childhood!!! Our party also enjoyed the Sour Cream Chicken Enchiladas, Stuffed Avocado and the Tacos Cozumel. Will surely return to try other items on the menu

Service was good but food was not cooked properly(raw). Sent back and after waiting over 30 minutes for it. After receiving my bill I notice I was charged full price for the item. I ask if it can be discounted since I did not get to enjoy my meal and after the server spoke with ownership it was discount only 20% on the ordered item. Again staff was great and I understand making a profit but a returning customer is more essential to business than a 20% discounted item. I hope this can be a good source of information for the owner. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Restaurants at this location seem to have trouble, so we decided to support this new neighborhood mexican spot. If you are looking for typical Tex Mex, you will be disappointed. Las Brazas serves more of a Yucatan style Mexican food — lots of shrimp, fish, and fresh flavors. Margarita — okay flavor, but pretty strong — nothing to write home about. Would hope that the«typical» Mexican drink would be more special than what it was. Chips & Salsa — thick chips with salsa that was just the right consistency and spice level. A little hot for me, but perfect heat for my husband’s palate. We each had a cup of bean soup to start — yum! Large chunks of bacon added a full, smoky flavor. My husband got the Chile Relleno — delicious. The beef filling was moist, and also had raisins mixed in. A nice sweet touch to counteract the poblano. It was lightly fried — not too heavy. The queso that came with it was pretty orange, but was spiced(not spicy) well and was kind of smoky too. I had the Aguacate Relleno(stuffed avocado) — also very good! Big huge avocado cut in half, filled with nicely cooked shrimp. Served with cilantro lime rice, pico de gallo, salad, grilled asparagus, and a yummy creamy sauce(not sure what it is!). Beautiful presentation, and a very satisfying dish. Eating my leftovers for lunch right now! :) Corn Tortillas — almost more like a gordita, they are so thick! We really enjoyed the tortillas, as you don’t often see house-made CORN tortillas. A nice surprise! Service — very good. We were the only table :-(- so that usually means that the waiter hovers, or is nowhere to be found. Our waiter, however, was attentive but unobtrusive. He was very friendly and timed his service perfectly. Only 2 reasons I didn’t give all five stars: 1. Orange Roughy — They have it in several dishes on the menu. While it is a nice change to see something besides Tilapia, which is typically usually used for fish tacos and other Mexican dishes, this fish is not sustainable and should be avoided. 2. Margarita — good, but nothing special. Tasted like a generic bottled mix, even though we could also taste the tequila. While it would be okay at Chili’s or a run-of-the-mill Mexican/Tex Mex spot, the drink was a bit of a disappointment for an «upscale» Mexican restaurant. I hope Las Brazas survives this troubled location! We had a nice time, and would definitely go back!

We had the fish tacos and chicken tamales. The tamales were good, but the orange roughy tacos were some of the best I have ever had. The fish was perfectly seasoned and not overcooked. So so good. The margaritas were small and ok and I’m glad that they were half price because of happy hour. There was also a little tequila tasting so I got to try a couple sips of tequila on the house. The service was attentive, too. I’m going back for those tacos.

Hey, it won’t let me rate zero stars. Never had to do that before. This place won’t get many reviews, ’cause it won’t be around long. Just don’t get taken for a ride like we did. It is so common for most of us in the area to be able to find something we like at any Mexican restaurant, it makes trying a new place like this a common adventure. Started with guacamole. Meh, overpriced and flavorless. Probably the highlight for $ 8.00. I had the lamb and caldo de calabaza. Overpriced comfort food soup that seemed more like it was turkey leg soup, rather than the lamb I ordered medium rare, at a filet of lamb price. She had shrimp tacos. Dry, over-cooked, overpriced, shrimp. No room for misinterpretation. I’m not picky. These were awful. Tortillas; you may like ‘em you may hate ‘em. They were different here. Very thick. Didn’t pair well with dry shrimp. Margaritas. House, awful. (This is where it gets embarassing) I ordered a top shelf instead of getting out of there. WORSE than the house. Couldn’t drink it. And folks that is not my style. STAYAWAY! My tab was $ 90.00 I told the server I am taking care of you tonight, but if you want an even better tip. Run away from this place.

Born and raised in Dallas — I know Mexican food. We came in open minded but that soon ended. It said upscale Mexican but it was just overpriced. Noticed they did not offer crispy tacos or cheese enchiladas(almost a mainstay for a Texas Mexican restaurant) but still trying to be open minded. Ordered queso and standard guacamole. The queso appeared to be quite plastic and over spiced. The guacamole had zero taste. We could of had the table made guacamole for a few dollars more. The table made guacamole advertised that it had jalapeños and onions — wow — what a concept — you pay extra to get something that may not taste like wallpaper paste. I have never left guacamole on a plate — I did this time. Then to top it off — the kiss of death — watered down margarita. It literally tasted like a squeezed lime in water. Absolutely no hint of tequila. We decided to leave and paid the tab. On the way out the owner or manager asked why we were leaving — I replied it was not good and stated the above. He got extremely defensive and irritated when I told him about the watered down margarita. We will never be back — limited menu — overpriced — bland — watered drinks — bad attitude.

Worst overpriced food and margaritas. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it’s normally $ 8 and in a small juice size glass. If there was any alcohol in it there was only a splash. The menu was very over priced for what it was. I just got the chicken enchiladas because they were the cheapest on the menu and yuck. The sour cream sauce had no taste and the rice was basically just white rice no flavor. Worst $ 20 on a meal I have spent in along time! Just had my left over enchilada and found a huge chicken bone in eat. Would have damaged a tooth if I hadn’t found it.
