Genroku’s Taiwanese food and Sushi is always good to eat. I would highly recommend this place for anybody who loves Sushi and Taiwanese food. The wait stuff is also good.

This was AMAZING! As soon as you enter, your immediately taken care for. The food is PHENOMENAL and the service is great! I recommend this to anyone who likes Japanese cuisine. Try the vegetable rice for an amazing dish!;)

My family and I come here a lot so I think it’s about time to finally write a review on it. I’ve ordered their beef teriyaki and shrimp tempura bento combo. It comes with miso soup, salad, several pieces of sushi, rice, and vegetable tempura with a dipping sauce. It’s a pretty good deal! Recently, my family and I have ordered the crispy orange chicken, beef with scallions, fried intestines, and tofu with shrimp. My favorite dish was surprisingly the fried intestines(it’s also my dad’s favorite so we always get it!). It sounds unappetizing but trust me, it’s actually really, really yummy. It’s very crispy and the intestines are filled with green onion. I recommend dipping it in the salt mixture that it comes with because it gives it flavor. I don’t many restaurants that serve fried intestines so this is a great place to start if you’re feeling adventurous!

I’ve been looking for a good sushi spot here in Dallas and BAM, found it. Went here yesterday for lunch. Got the $ 9 bento box and was great! Only complaint is that they need to season their food more. Other than that, the space was pretty and I had a good time!

Love this place. If you are looking for authentic fresh chinese food this is the place to go. Super casual, great to bring kids. My bf is not a big fan of chinese food but he said he couldn’t wait to return because the food is SOGOOD!

I came with my Chinese friends for lunch. I didn’t expect that it would be that busy; in fact, there is a line to outside. :) I love the chicken and the bowl of rice with egg. So sad they want to kick us out by giving us the check when we are still working on the food. I totally get that because they are super busy. :)

We decided to try a new place and I am really glad we did ! Went on a Saturday night and luckily we arrived right before the big crowd. Very large menu, so it was difficult to choose. I ordered the tenderloin with shrimp and it was delicious ! It also came with a piece of panko fried zucchini, and a panko fried sweet potato slice. My husband had the chicken fried rice and he said it was the best he has ever had ! My 13 year old picky eater daughter even tried sushi for the first time and loved it ! All of the food is very authentic and definitely delicious !

I have been here several times and all visits have been good. The sushi is decent for the price. I always get the salmon lover combo which comes with salmon sashimi and a salmon avocado roll. The garlic chicken is really good and is one of their more popular menu items. I have gotten the bone and boneless and both are delish! I do love their house fried rice! After getting it the third time I ate there, I have not stopped getting it since. It is a fusion restaurant which i personally like. This is definitely one of my go to stops for Asian cuisine and I haven’t been disappointed!

Genroku’s taiwanese food is always solid and flavorful. I enjoy the basil chicken in the clay pot(order with bones only — much better than the boneless). Don’t laugh at me — Kung Pao Shrimp is actually really delicious as well — quickly fired in the wok with scallions and chili peppers — it is worth getting but a little expensive. I even like the simply cooked shredded beef stir fries — beef with scallions and beef with jalapeño are ones I have had. Clams with black bean sauce is flavorful as well. Ma po tofu USED to be amazing but they lost access to the hot sauce they previously had and it doesn’t quite taste the same anymore. Still decent though we don’t order now. Also, their stir fried veggies with garlic are usually worth getting for a green item to accompany your meal. At one time, their sushi was good when Sean was the sushi chef, but that was years ago and he is long gone. These days stick to the taiwanese.

Genroku is another restaurant along the chain of Asian restaurants in Richardson«Chinatown». It offers some very well done Taiwanese dishes at a relatively reasonable price(slightly on the high side). I was here with a friend who has been dining here since he was a child. The owner of the place greeted us personally and took our orders. She recommended us her favorite dishes and also periodically came out to ask us how things were, which was very kind of her. We ordered several dishes: Walnut shrimp, this green veggie dish called Ay something…, and basil chicken with bones. My favorite out of the 3 was definitely the walnut shrimp. Call me a sucker for sauces, but I loved the flavor of the dish. Unfortunately, the dish wasnt too big so we finished it pretty quick. The basil chicken was well done. Very well cooked and had a perfect tinge of basil taste. The green was a bit disappointing. It served as a good palate cleanser but it didn’t have any memorable taste. The place also serves sushi, but we didn’t get any. Would love to try them out next time I have a chance: D

I had a wonderful experience here! I came with a friend and her family and enjoyed all the food throughly. When I walked in, I saw that everything was clean and laid out already. The staff was very welcoming and ready to take our order right away. We ordered rice, vegetables and beef; I enjoyed all of the dishes. They were tasty(I’m very picky when it comes to saltiness and sweetness and this place assed the test!) and the portions were just right for five people. It was such a treat to eat good Chinese food again. The only thing I was disappointed about was the lack of cleanliness in the bathroom area. I know people don’t think much of it and accept that«bathrooms are always dirty,» but I don’t think accepting unclean and unhygienic restrooms is really okay. It was also in a very isolated area which made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Other than the restroom bit, I did enjoy the overall experience.

I took a break from this place for the past few years due to the awful service I received before(waitress demanding a tip for bad services provided) however, they have redeemed themselves. First of all, if you come here, you gotta try the fried rice. In my opinion, it is the best fried rice in Dallas. It might be a little greasy but all great foods in life are, right? After devouring the fried rice, we got the sashimi combo. It comes with 17 assorted pieces of tuna, super white tuna, salmon, red snapper, and yellowtail(yellowtail was my favorite). All the fish was fresh and where big hearty pieces; well worth the $ 35 price tag. In terms of the service, our waitress was very friendly and timely with our order… pretty much a 180 from the previous waitress I had. I’m glad this place was able to win me back as a customer. this way I don’t have to drive a million miles for good reasonably priced sushi!

I stumbled upon this Japanese restaurant while on my way to Java Land to study. The lady that greeted me spoke to me in Chinese, and I don’t speak Chinese, so I told her in English that I don’t speak Chinese. They sent over a server named Anthony who took my order in English. I ordered the una ju because I love eel to death and I always order una ju/unagi don at Japanese restaurants because it’s really something you cannot screw up. It’s literally just eel on top of rice with some unagi sauce on the top. A different lady came by to give my una ju, and she mumbled something in Chinese and then left. Again, no idea what she said, and even if I did understand Chinese I wouldn’t have been able to hear her. I opened the box, and it was the tiniest piece of unagi ever. It tasted pretty standard, except that they drowned the whole meal in unagi sauce. Seriously, the unagi and rice to unagi sauce ratio was super off. But since I love unagi so much, I finished it off. It wasn’t till I ate all the rice when I noticed the ridiculously disgusting bottom of the bowl. The paint at the bottom of the bowl was all chipped, and I noticed that I could chip off the paint by just rubbing my chopsticks on the paint. Pieces of red paint were chipping off, and that’s when I realized that I probably ingested a ton of this nasty paint. Paint is definitely inedible, and I can only hope to god that the bowl was not made in china. I will not come here ever again in the interest of my own health.

After leaving Texas for a year and looking forward to the crispy chicken, I was highly disappointed. I don’t think this will be one of my go tos anymore. Service was good over all. Prices were a bit higher Than before but the quality and portions have shrunk. –bak choy with shrimp: was okay wasn’t even green with dried shrimp bits, wasn’t worth the 8 bucks. –honey walnut shrimp: 13 bucks for only 12 pieces. Tasted more of the mayo than the honey. Nothing special about this dish. Way over priced –crispy chicken: I believe it was a bit over cooked the chicken is usually still moist but it was definitely dry this time.

Décor: 4⁄5 –There are two large tables that can comfortably seat 8 adults. –In the back are 4 tables that offers more privacy Service: 4⁄5 –Friendly and efficient service, food came out fairly quickly Food: 3.5÷5 –Three cup chicken(bone-in) was flavorful and juicy. Except a bit sweet. –SMU roll was their recommended and most popular specialty roll. The crunchy texture was great, the flavor was there and it was a bit heavy in sauce as well. Also a sweet dish –Lastly the Taiwanese Sausage with raw garlic dish. Just doesn’t compare to the night market in Taiwan but it was decent. What attracted me to Genroku were the Taiwanese dishes. It’s tough comparing dishes from the motherland to the states. All three dishes we tried were sweet. I feel the dishes are Americanized.

I felt so uncomfortable. I just came in to the sushi bar to have a quick solo lunch. The guy who took my order seemed to be the manager. I told him exactly what I wanted and instantly he told me how much the total is. Um, so I have to PAY before even seeing my food? Can’t you wait? I was direct with him that I’ll pay when I’m finished with my lunch. And he was like, «Oh…» So the food came in. It was so nasty, I almost puked. I just ordered the veggie bento and little did I know it came with nearly-inedible veggies. The photo is posted below. I asked the manager-server guy if I can just get a serving of steamed mixed vegetables and apparently he had to go through some intense, thorough deliberation with the cooks before he can«approve» of giving me some steamed vegetables in replacement of the inedible«things» I got on my box. Seriously? It’s just some random-a$$ steamed veggies. They don’t cost a fortune.
