Good crispy duck but always to pay in cash. It’s 2016 and they don’t want to pay for bank fees for using the credit cards.

this is being posted becasue of their sister store in GARLANDTEXAS. this is the worst first chinese bbq on earth. they switched managers and she is extremely greedy, probably stealing money and pocketing money. the food is good the service is bad. the manager needs to be fired. i ordered 20 $ worth of food and asked for a chili sauce and a duck sauce with my food and they told me they are going to charge $ 1 extra each for the sauce. i had to stay with them on the phone for 10 minutes arguing why the hell im getting charged extra when im purchasing 20 $ worth of food. cheapskates. this isnt the first time its happened. they always try to be extremely greedy and charge you for every single thing. dont give in to their greediness

The service was pretty good. Only negative is that this place ONLY accepts cash. We ordered combination with ear, tongue, and intestines(none of us liked the intestines though lol). We also ordered roast duck and marinated chicken noodle soup and it was pretty delicious. The noodles themselves were subpar but the meat was good(not many spices at all).

Good, authentic, comfort Chinese food. We just asked our waiter to help us pick some of the restaurant’s most popular dishes and we loved it. There is limited parking so it might be better to not go at a prime time for dinner. But remember that this place is cash only! Ambience and the outside appearance of the restaurant isn’t super great but just come for the food and you’ll be satisfied. Huge portions too!

My wife and I had an hour to kill before an appointment in Dallas so we decided to stop by this place for lunch. Upon entering, the place looked so much like the one in North Richland Hills(furniture, etc) so we figured it’s the same owner since the names are the same. I ordered the Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup and my wife ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup. She also saw a delicious looking plate at the next table so she ordered the same. It was called the Hot Pot. While we found the arrangement of the tables quite crammed up, we still enjoyed our lunch. The soup was not as price economical as the restaurant we regularly visit at Arlington(King Chinese BBQ) as it was about $ 2 more but it was delicious as well. We were utterly surprised when paying because as we handed the waitress the check along with my wife’s credit card, she was rebuffed with three words, «Cash only please.» I had to ask her a couple of times to confirm if indeed she meant that we couldn’t pay with the card and she replied with the same four words, «Cash only please.» My wife had brought about $ 30 in singles so we had to embarrassingly count enough to pay the bill which was about $ 26+. Parking during lunch can be very difficult as the lot is very small.

Wonderful Cantonese restaurant! Friendly and prompt with both take-out and dine-in service! The dishes I am most fond of: whole steam fish, when avail; walnut shrimp; brisket clay pot; seafood crispy noodles; roast duck; black bean clams; water spinach; and, sweet and savory saucy Cantonese spareribs! Every freshly cooked dish comes out piping hot! Always plenty leftover, finishing the seafood dishes there and bring the rest home! This is my to go place once a month! Cheers!

First Chinese BBQ is a great place to go with large groups. Everything they sent out was hot and fresh and sold in large portions. I absolutely loved their BBQ Pork and Duck, but the Chinese Broccoli was FANTASTIC!!! The would definitely recommend that you head on over!

Ever since moving from Houston to Dallas, my sisters and I have been looking for something to replace Sinh Sinh. This is it. Everything is family size, which I love. I highly recommend the beef flat(which we call fat) noodles with black bean sauce and whatever variation of crispy noodles you prefer. Chinese BBQ isn’t my favorite thing ever, but there is plenty of that up at the front. As with most authentic Asian places, this is cash only. Don’t worry. This place is worth a trip to the ATM.

I enjoy the beef flat noodles, crispy pork or crispy shrimp and Chinese broccoli with garlic. Not a big fan of the BBQ duck and pork-just not my thing. The crispy pork or shrimp has a wok fried assortment of scallions and sliced fresh jalapeños that I find delicious and is my primary reason for ordering. It is very salty but gooood if you don’t give a damn about your waistline or artery health. The beef flat noodles can be very tasty but I end up dousing with large quantities of the red chili paste served on the table and perhaps a few dashes of soy sauce. It just spices it up a bit and makes it much better. I have had the noodle soup with wontons and it is perfectly fine. A bit above average but the store bought noodles in it are nothing special. For me the soup is basically just filler if I need to make sure I’m gonna get enough to eat.

I haven’t had anything I didn’t like here. They have an extensive menu, so get ready to study the menu. Some of the things I order here are the rice plates, such as, BBQ pork, chicken, roast duck, etc. over rice. Another favorite of mine is the BBQ pork and egg over rice, it’s basically a giant omelette with BBQ pork on top of rice. They’re located right next to a bubble tea shop so you can conveniently grab a drink then head on over to eat. Of course everyone knows that this place is cash only, and unfortunately nearby shops won’t allow cash back. Although there is a shell gas station across the street that has an atm, also a nearby chase bank.

After reading the reviews, I was skeptical about the service. However, I came here around 4:00, it wasn’t too crowded so I was comfortable. The service was quite great at this location — I did not experience great service at the Plano location. I ordered the crispy noodles combination and the crab asparagus soup! These meals are way bigger than I thought! Enough for 3 people! I suggest order one meal when you’re alone! Lol! My meal came out quickly! And it was amazingly fresh! My noodles were so crispy! And it was screamingly hot! I really enjoyed it! And the soup was good but it was better as leftovers. Next time I’ll probably order their xa xiu barbecued pork with steam rice! I’ll be back! I was so happy after I left! My meal came out to $ 21 including tip! Cash only! I believe. –the one in Plano told me cash only. So I assume it’s for here too!

Clean and modern interior that has a feel of a modern restaurant(all waitresses even wear a standardized uniform) despite having a hole-in-the-wall look from the outside. Upon walking in, you’ll see the Chinese BBQ hanging to your right, with an elderly Chinese man ready to chop up anything to order. Plenty of seating — small and large tables and booths available. There’s also three Chinese menu scribbled on a glass frame on the walls which I cannot understand. Ordered roasted duck and wonton soup and they were also able to add BBQ pork to it($ 8.95). Everything was surprisingly perfect. Everything. Rich broth, moist BBQ pork, tender roasted duck, and one of the best shrimp wontons I have had in a long time — juicy, plump, not rubbery, and in one of the thinnest wonton wrappers I have seen. The only thing I question is the ramen noodles itself — I am not convinced that these are the best ramen noodles. But they do pair themselves well with the proteins. I’ll need to come back to try the other things — I have my eyes on the lemon grass ribs, prawns and whatever is scribbled on the wall in Chinese. Lol. But the soup is something that shouldn’t be overlooked, and on that alone, this place gets 5 stars in my book. Friendly and accommodating service. Steady stream of customers. It’s cash only, though.

Top 3 reasons for learning Chinese: Watch kung fu movies without subtitles. Know what coworkers are saying behind my back… Order food at 1st Chinese BBQ like a boss. I’m always lost when I go get«real Chinese food», but if someone who knows what’s going on better than me asks, I will gladly buckle up and enjoy the ride. 1CBBQ was quite the ride. Now if you’re saying to yourself, «None of my friends speak Chinese; I guess I can’t go there» you are wrong. We, as a big group, ordered a sizeable portion of the menu, and none of it disappointed. So heck you don’t even have to speak English. You really just need a pointer finger, and they’ll bring you something delicious.

I’ve been coming here for years, with family and with friends for all sorts of occasion(whether it’s Thanksgiving or Christmas because they are actually open for the holidays or just because we’re hungry). It’s good, standard Cantonese food that has yet to really fail me. I like their BBQ pork(infamous red cha shao), beef flat noodles, crispy noodles, salty fish rice plate?, and a bunch of other stuff. All that yummy goodness that won’t break the bank for ya(hence the one(1) dollar sign!). They are CASHONLY so don’t be like me and have to run across the street in the rain to use the ATM!

This is my go-to place for Chinese food. I have gone to quite a few Chinese restaurants and this is still my favorite one. This place is kind of tiny and kind of has a «dirty» feel to it, but that’s how some of the restaurants in Asia are like to(if that makes up for anything). Their rice, soup, sides, and noodles are very good. I usually order their beef flat noodles. My friends like their roasted duck/pork over rice. Their food is flavorful. It’s not like a home-cooked Chinese meal, but it’s better than most Chinese restaurants(in my opinion). The only thing I would change about this place is that I wish they would take credit cards. All of their locations all take cash. The second thing I would change is the customer service. The waitresses seem to be distracted and aren’t very prompt or attentive to their customers needs. The cashier in the front, whenever I pick up a to-go order doesn’t really even look at me. She just gives me my food, tells me how much it is, and doesn’t even smile at me – unless you tip her. –____-« So, until their customer service gets better, I’d give this place a four out of five stars.

This place is a family favorite. There are a few locations but this is definitely the best one. We know everyone that’s on staff here but I really hate saying this. Their customer service could use some improvement. Sometimes they’re not very attentive and sometimes… You can sort of read their attitude from their face and that’s no bueno. The food is amazing. Anything you order, it’s going to be good so enjoying your dish will definitely be the least of your worries. It also helps that there’s a boba latte right next door so once you’ve finished with lunch or dinner you could stop by next door and enjoy yourself a nice smoothie, slush, tea, etc. Here are some entrée suggestions if you are a newbie to FCBBQ: orange chicken, chicken crispy noodle, bbq pork, sautéed water spinach(YUM), beef flat noodles, and Hong Kong shrimp. Hope you guys found my review helpful! Enjoy :)

My favorite chinese restaurant in the DFW area! Everytime I crave for chinese food, I go to this place. Every dish has been delicious and takes me back to Asia. Must go here for the duck and hot pots! The salted fish and eggplant is great. Also get the salt and pepper shrimp and the crispy pork. Be aware that it’s cash only here!

We found this place after finding out the Raman restaurant up the street was closed for remodeling. It is located in a shopping center just south of Belt Line/Main next to a reflexology place. When we entered you could see roasted ducks hanging as well as the bbq pork. They told us to seat ourselves so we found a booth. The restaurant was generally clean, and had a lot of tables. There were even some larger tables that fit 8 – 10 people. The menu was vast, and the prices were reasonable. A server came to take out order as soon as we sat down. Then another within a minute. They seemed annoyed. I tried the roast pork and the duck. The dishes were okay enough to come back. They only take CASH! I get it, but it is inconvenient. I would say if you have cash in your pocket and have a taste for Chinese food that is authentic and fast, go here.

First Chinese BBQ(FCB) is a chain of Chinese restaurants in DFW that are known for having a daily selection of Chinese BBQ items, cheap Chinese food, and being CASHONLY. No Credit Cards accepted. This review is for the Richardson location. My Overall Rating — 4 Stars(Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere — All FCBs are very similar. Entering the restaurant will lead you to the BBQ stand where you can buy items a la carte or order/pick up to go. If you choose to dine in, you will be seated in the main dining area. This location is pretty small and there’s not much room between tables. On our last visit, it wasn’t too crowded but was still a little dirty. ½ Star. Service — If the restaurant is empty, you get good service. If you order to go or pick up, you get good service. If you are not Asian, you get good service. However, if it’s busy, all bets are off. 90% of their patrons are Asian, and it seems FCB takes us for granted(they know we’ll be back). In fact, my expectations are usually low, so when I get great service it’s a surprise. Since it wasn’t crowded, things were good although it took them some time to find my bill(you pay at the front). ½ Star. Food — I come here for good Chinese food at a GREAT price. If you dine here, come in a big group! Order at least 6 entrees and eat FAMILYSTYLE. It’s best when you share your meal and you get the most out of the experience. My recommendations: Cheese Lobster/Shrimp, Combination BBQ Pork and Duck, Shrimp in Fried Tofu, Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce, Salted Chicken, Young Chow Fried Rice, Wonton Soup. The only down side is that the food is a bit greasy, but it’s the best bang for your buck and it’s as authentic as you can get. 2 Stars. Will I Return? — Yes. This is MYGOTO place for true Chinese food. It’s fast, good, and cheap. It’s not gourmet by any means, but it doesn’t try to be either. If the service was always good and they were always clean, FCB would be 5 Stars easily. But it doesn’t matter, they get my $. 1 Star. My Unilocal Rating Scale(Sum of all parts): 1 Star — Atmosphere — Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I’ll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star — Service — You can have a great meal with bad service. But that’s also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It’s important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars — Food — I’ll award up to two stars for the food, since this is the main reason we dine out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it’s really all about the food. 1 Star — Will I come back? — If I know for a fact I’ll return, I’ll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food(2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Unilocal score.
