I was puzzled as to why this place has such a low star-rating. I’ve been here 3 times and the bagels+cream cheese and coffee were fresh and consistent each visit – although the coffee is a little too bitter but I will try a different brew next time. The service isn’t enthusiastic but it is sufficient: I was greeted, my order made quickly and correctly, etc. so not sure what people are expecting? Anyhow, give it a try.

It’s a good place, but not great. The place looks dull. The bagels are fine but could be better. For one, it’ll be great to showcase the cheeses instead of keeping them hidden behind. I think the lack of activity among the adjacent stores also hurts them — location isn’t great.

Been here several times. I never get to take pictures because I come late and they run down their selection. I almost always get an everything with Veggie smear. For a bagel place their coffee is pretty good. I would consider them over Einstein down the road every time. I have really only ever had their bagels buy they arr always spot on.

Brick bake bagel. Fresh veg. Nice and variety of cream cheese. Love their coffee. Friendly and always give recommendation by friendly couples/owners. Very clean place and good environment and will definitely visit again next weekend.

This location has the worst service ever, I will continue getting my bagels from the McKinney location. Decided to stop and get a bagel because it was convenient at the time, Never again will I purchase anything from this location.

This place is good and I recommend it. I am giving it 4 stars because all dough the bagel was good and everything else was fresh the meat was still cold from being in the fridge. With that said will be going back to it tomorrow for some breakfast.

Well I just got ripped off. Hankering for a bagel I made the mistake going to this shop. The bagels were just OK. The place was empty and I know why. The only employee, seemed to be the Asian owner. Now I am willing to be flexible… but $ 4 for 2 bagels is ludicrous! OK one had some and I do mean some(not much) cream cheese on it. I’d have to mortgage the farm to buy a dozen! To add insult to injury when I got back I check a competitors website where they were offering a baker’s dozen(13) for $ 6.

Other reviewers on Unilocal had bad service. I tend to disregard Unilocal reviews that are extremely negative because people tend to vent on this site more than others. I found the service without a lot of conversation but very friendly and the bagels excellent.

We ordered two lunch sandwiches. The food was good but no better than a cold cut you could put together from grocery store items. There was only one woman working who spoke broken English. She asked our order twice and still got it wrong. It took about five minutes to put together two sandwiches. The woman also badgered me about only ordering one drink for the two of us. She asked me three times if I wanted a drink, making it clear that sharing one beverage was not okay. We will not be returning to Benny’s due to the below average, unfriendly service.

So, yes, the service really is pretty terrible. But the Pacific smoked salmon bagel is so good I find myself coming back over and over.

I can’t stop thinking about my horrible experience here. I will never be back due to the rude employee(I am almost positive he was the owner) sad that you can’t be nicer to the people who keep your business going. On top of the rudeness, the blue berry bagel was awful. No flavor and hard to chew. Don’t bother going here these people don’t care about your business! If only I could do 0 stars!

I love Benny Bagels, but usually go to the one in Lakewood closest to my house. This time I went to the one closest to work. Disappointed! Rude owner/manager! Ordered a healthy riser wrap(which they have in Lakewood) only to be corrected by the owner that it was a burrito. What difference does it make? Just make it & stop arguing with me. It wouldn’t be a big deal, but he was rude in the delivery as well

Delicious and inexpensive egg and bacon on a toasted bagel, plus ordered a dozen bagels to share with colleagues. Great cream cheese. Bagels are cooked just right. Nice atmosphere to sit and have some food and a coffee or drink. My only recommendation to them would be to get quieter fridges for the bottled drinks, and to put on some music.

Stale bagels. They microwave eggs instead of putting them on a pan or grill, which tastes worse than McDonald’s. Poor customer service.

Stale bagels, no iced coffee, and a surly waitstaff. Hopefully we visited on an off day, but that first impression was enough to make sure we won’t be back.

HORRIBLESERVICE! I went this morning for a bagel with cream cheese and an egg and cheese bagel. I tried to use a coupon that I received in the Clippers Magazine YESTERDAY. I was advised by the cashier that since they are under new management they don’t accept coupons. Since yesterday? Food was actually decent. I called to speak to the manager and a man answered the phone. I requested to speak to the manger… pause…this is he. I asked for his name. He retorted, what did you need? I said your name and again his response was, what did you need? Never mind. I will definitely not be visiting this establishment again.

The service here is horrible! The cashier’s(possibly manager) attitude was not inviting whatsoever. Instead of handing my credit card back to me, he threw it across the counter towards me along with a pen. When I handed my receipt back to him, he began walking away until I stopped him and asked for a copy of my receipt. The expression on his face was that of extreme dissatisfaction. I will never return to Benny’s Bagels. The small, tasteless bagels are not worth the hassle.

If you want a bagel, this is the place to go. They have many different types of bagel sandwiches as well for lunch. They have a few tables or you can get it to go.

I work right off Campbell, and we don’t have as great a selection for breakfast and I noticed Benny’s Bagels when I took an alternate route to work one day. They have a very decent selection of bagel choices and I think they’re a step above going to a chain place like Einstein’s. Service wise they’re on the ball and you don’t have to repeat orders 20 times, but if you’re expecting to have service with a smile… you won’t get it.

I’ve come here a few times for breakfast after staying with some friends in Dallas. They have amazing bagels and it’s owned by a very sweet couple who make fantastic breakfast. I’m a huge fan of Salt bagels, so I was so glad to get one with smoked salmon, capers and onion. The bagels are just the right size and are perfect for the first meal of the day. The assembly line format is super fast and there’s almost zero wait for your bagel(I’ve never seen such fast an perfect cream cheese application, literally two swipes and it’s 100% perfect). I’m a firm believer in having a quiet morning and this is the perfect place for it. The windows let in just enough light, the shop is small and quaint, and the place was empty enough at 8:30 to have a relaxing and enjoyable meal to start the day. It’s rare to find small businesses in the Dallas ‘burbs, so I highly recommend this place as it’s only a few blocks from Central!
