A WEDNESDAY MORNING DURING BREAKFAST RUSH

It should be simple — fast food is fast food and all things are pretty much possible within the spectrum of messy to efficient. Today, it was slow and sloppy, a fast food nightmare.

I have been here before and the seervice and food have both been A-​OK at times, but more ofthen than not, it’s along the lines of a Campus-​area Taco Bell at midnight.

Although it’s not nearly as messy in the seating area — it’s actually almost always clean — the food is almost always thrown together — which is much worse.

We ordered a coffee, the new steak breakfast sandwich on biscuit, and a breakfast bagel. Both sandwiches were poorly prepared. The biscuit was grilled — but the grill marks (on both sides) were dark black and the sandwich tasted carbon-​coated. The bagel was average — no hits or misses, and the coffee was fine, but lukewarm.

Now, I could chalk everything but the burnt biscuit halves off to fast food. Unfortunately, this happens on a smi-​regular basis. This was an actual «tasting and review» and I was hoping for at least an A-​OK, because I just figured that’s far for most fast food places.

With Tim Horton’s on Main, they must be having staffing problems on the line-​level, because this happens way too much.

i love the occasional bfast sandwich and large BLACK coffe, no sugar, no cream, just coffee. Somehow when i get coffee home there is sugar hidden in my coffee when i specify BLACK coffee. customer service isnt what it could be, i cant make it any easier than ordering plain coffee…

What can I say… it’s Timmy’s.

Oh, it was so good to get some Timbits here on a road trip, after about 10 years of not living near a Timmy’s. My wife didn’t understand the appeal, and after all, it’s hard to quantify the difference between Timbits and Munchkins.
For those who have never been to a Tim Horton’s, I can honestly say that it’s a matter of being a fan. If you’re not a fan, you can happily go to any other coffee-​and-​doughnuts shop. If you are, however, it’s a pleasure to find a Tim Horton’s when you least expect it.
