Been going here for the past 8 years. Can’t recommend them enough, they don’t push you to get unnecessary fixes for your teeth.

Zacko is a good dentist but his staff is totally obnoxious, unhelpful, and sometimes downright rude. For that reason I have started patronizing a different dentist whose office staff has a better attitude.

We had a recent encounter which has lowered my rating for this dentist. My wife went there for some dental work. It was her understanding that was a first minor step towards more expensive work later. She was expecting a bill in the $ 200 price range. However, there was a misunderstanding. She received $ 2500 in work (post insurance) with the need to go back and and get another $ 2500 work done in three to six months.
The staff, including the George Zacco, seem to be good honest people. I don’t believe they were trying to pull off any shenanigans. However, when somebody is getting dental work with a price tag of 4 digits, I think it would be best to give a printed estimate before doing any work. I get more information on a $ 200 car repair estimate than my wife got from the dentist. Perhaps this is more an indictment of the medical and dentist industry in general than on Dr Zacco.

Where to start…
This dentist was a decent choice at first… the work on cavities was reasonable and everyone was more or less competent. I’ve since moved and this is where the trouble starts. The crown this office ‘placed’ had to be replaced (by the same dentist) because of original poor work. I’ve gone to other dentists since and have essentially been told that work on the crown will need to be done again as it wasn’t done right the first time.
General cleanings are done by friendly staff, but my biggest gripe? They failed to update my personal records for over three years. When I moved, they ‘called’ and ‘sent records’ to personal contact information that was three years old. However, when I still lived in VA, appointment reminders and mail correspondence always managed to find me at a current address or phone number.
My words of advice: go somewhere else. If a dental office can’t manage to contact you when it’s time to be billed for a missed appointment (I was charged $ 50 and referred to collections)…getting something as simple as personal contact information right… then you may want to trust your dental hygiene to another practice.

I recently switched dentists due to my previous dentist continuously finding issues and advising me to get various procedures done, not excluding teeth whitening.
With that said, a previous roommate recommended Dr. Zacko’s office. It is tucked inside a mixed use «neighborhood» just off the Reston parkway, and next to a golf course/​country club. The office is a unit in a small, older medical building and has your average waiting room, however the desk staff are very jovial and make you feel right at home.
Dr. Zacko himself is a friendly character, cracking a few jokes here and there, and easy to talk to. He did a quick checkup, and put me in the hands of the dental hygienist who was also easy going.
The office is smaller and very clean, and while Dr. Zacko is not fresh out of dental school, his equipment appears very up to date, which was a plus in my book.
I merely got a yearly checkup and no extensive dental work, but I can’t imagine the experience would be that much different for those who need it.
