This Einstein Bros. Location is seriously mis-managed. Both times I’ve been here, it has taken over 20 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese and lox. How hard is that?! This time I got a refund. Avoid this location. Hopefully that will send a message that a change is needed!

Every time I come, they mess up my order. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to get a simple bagel and cream cheese right… The service is just terrible

Not going back. My order gets messed up every time I’ve been, guaranteed. What’s on my receipt and what I order never matches what I actually get. Last time I will go here!

Long wait. Disorganized. Small portions on the cream cheese. Go to bagel café on Elden or maybe Silver Diner. There’s just no reason to go here. The funniest thing is that there’s a sign that says ORDERHERE, but that’s not where you order. Instead, you order at the other end of the store(where you would normally pay). And so every few minutes, a woman from behind the counter would yell out to new customers that they need to slide down to order. At least once she got snippy. She said something like«you need to order on the left, there’s no one at this station». I found it really strange to be snippy with potential customers for reading the signage. I really, really wanted to move the sign. Someone should do it. Just unhook it and move it left. I didn’t have the guts. What a weird store.

Tried calling in a catering order following the online instructions but since we are paying cash we were instructed to call the store directly. The person on the catering line was nice and professional. Once we called the store we were passed to two different people before the rudest individual I have ever encountered came on the line! We tried to explain calmly that we had been instructed by the catering office to call the store. She interrupted mid sentence trying to rattle off the phone number. We tried to explain again that we’d already called them and they asked to call the store. She snapped back that she and her manager had no idea what to do with our order. She then proceeded to not only yell at employees while trying to talk to us(becoming increasingly aggressive), she CONDESCENDINGLY asked if we had internet access and repeated 5 times that she couldn’t do anything and she had customers and shouldn’t have to keep repeating herself. She then Asked if we wanted to have her explain the process one more time. I couldn’t take it anymore and raised my voice to interrupt her to remind her«there is no reason to be rude!» She then attempted to hang up. The reason I say«attempted» is because she tried answering the next call while I was on the line! «Thank you for calling Einstein Bagels…» Thank you Einstein at Reston for a headache and the worst customer service I’ve recently received. And thank you for saving me a trip into your store ever again.

For some reason, bagels and lox was on my mind and I was in Reston. You can put two and two together and see how and why I ended up here. My bagel with lox and vanilla latte were tasty and just the right amount of food and caffeine. They did have a lot of cream cheese on the bagel though so you might want to tell them to go light on that if possible. The only thing that’s preventing this place from being rated higher is the service times. There were people in front of me waiting a long time for their food and their facial expressions were beginning to show for it. Plus the line was getting longer as there were only three employees behind the line(two working the line, one working the register). My bagel and latte didn’t take too long but it caused some to get upset as I received my items before them. Einstein bagels, if you’re named after Albert Einstein, then do what he did: brainstorm and fix the issue!

Every Sunday it’s the same. Try to get a bagel at 10:30 and they are sold out. It’s such a regular occurrence that the lack of planning/preparation hurts the business and makes for grumpy customers. Einstein, don’t wait until you’re completely sold out to make another batch! Telling us that it will be another 40 minutes is unacceptable! Since my kid was really hungry and all that was available were onion and salt bagels. Salt bagels – yummy! Except we got… onion. Off we go to Starbucks. I give up on this place.

The food here is typical Einstein Bros and is consistent with the franchise, but the customer service in this place is the absolute WORST I have ever experienced. 9:30 on a Saturday and the place is EMPTY of seated diners but there is a line of 20+ people out the front door and down the sidewalk despite 7 employees behind the counter… 6 of whom are jockeying aimlessly to AVOID helping the next customer in line. Unbelievable.

I went in early(6:45am) last Saturday morning as a man and his kid were walking out. The guy was upset they didn’t have the breakfast sandwich he wanted(no bacon available?). I walked in and there were no bagels in the baskets behind the case, but there were on the wall looking like they just came from the oven. My friend tried to order the 9-multigrain for her sandwich, but they hadn’t been made. I ordered a ham and cheddar cheese bagel on wheat, a chai and an orange juice. Everything was delicious and the service was great. It was around $ 10.50 for breakfast, not too bad. It’s unfortunate that if they open so early, they’re not fully ready to handle the early birds.

My wife and I used to occasionally go here. The food was fairly good and reasonable. One day I ordered a bacon egg and cheese bagel. I uncharacteristically opened the bagel and drew out the bacon. It was thin beyond belief I laid it on the print of their materials and had no problem reading right through the bacon. Funny I used to joke about meat shaved that thin. I never thought i would ever encounter it. I showed it to the manager, who was speechless and did nothing that would make me believe that hewould do anything but hope no one would ever actually open a bagel again. Though everything else was fine, no we do not eat at Einstein Bros Bagels anymore.

Sunday morning at 11am: badly in need of a team huddle. Four employees struggling to understand how to serve a modest number of customers. Cashier with an attitude didn’t help. Hopefully Management will train these clueless servers.

Chaos and confusion seem to be the rule this morning. Haven’t been here in a while and decided to pop in for a quick lox and bagel, not the best idea… at just after 9 the only reason for the line was super confusion on ringing at the order register. That finally got cleared and then the food auction started… Who had the everything with cream cheese she yells. Hummmmm they ask our name at time or order. Doesn’t she know who this goes to? I commented I have a everything but with flavored cream cheese and what’s on this… No clue so off she goes to figure out. Finally decide it’s plain so not mine but still no clue who ordered. Hummmmm seems the couple who had a issue at the order register claims it but they are still missing part, Mine comes out and all is okay… But we now compare the sad lack of lox on top as compared to the generous topping over at Bagel Café in Herndon. Should have popped over there but we needed close and quick. Hubby snarfed down before I could grab a pic but next time if we do come back I will complain… Not even close to the advertised pic on the sign. Me bad for not checking first. But as I said was being rushed…

After briefly getting better, the service here is back to get sub par. They are chronically understaffed and disorganized. It’s a shame because the bagels and menu are very good

I guess they have a new menu that is trying to be Panera. If so, please drop the word«bagel» from your name. They used to offer bagel sandwiches of all types for lunch. Now you seem to be limited to various pre-selected combinations that are mostly made on rolls or paninis. There is maybe one bagel sandwich listed on the menu and it had a strange combo of toppings. To be fair, the customer service was slightly better than what a lot of reviews have posted. I was able to request an actual bagel on my sandwich and they seemed to get the order right and bring it out relatively quickly. Maybe that’s improved or they just weren’t that busy on a Wednesday lunch(which is strange considering the location).

Great experience this morning. Went in with my sons looking for chocolate chip bagels. They were out but offered to make more but it would take approximately 30 minutes. We accepted the offer and ran over to Home Depot for a few items. When we returned, our bagels were warm, fresh, ready and waiting for us. Darryl the manager on duty was so personable, helpful and friendly. It’s so nice to go to a chain that doesn’t treat you like one. We were well taken care of and will be back as much as possible. Thanks so much.

I went here a few times in 2012, and it was great. This place is actually the place that turned me into the Einstein’s addict that I am. 2014 and on, however, that is not the case. I believe that they recently changed GMs from the one that was new in 2014. But it hasn’t helped much. The bagels are often out of stock, the cashiers are rarely ready to take your order, and it can take forever to get two bagels. There’s a sign at the first register that says«Order Here». If you stand there, no one will serve you — they’ll walk around and ignore you, until five minutes later one of them goes to the register at the other end of the place and asks you to come down there. The employees are generally rude, slow, and not particularly pleasant to deal with. We’ve literally waited for over an hour for four bagels before. Whenever you say«Dine in», they hear«To go». I don’t know what else I can say — this is one of those places that we always say«Never again» and somehow end up there again. Well, Unilocal reviews have been the kiss of death for me. Once I give you a one-star, you don’t see me again. So, this is it. Farewell! I will invest my money in a different location :)

Einstein bagels makes good bagels but this location and the Reston location can’t get anything right. My order has never been correct here– staff is annoyed when you try to get your order corrected and often takes two to three tries to get the correct order. The drive thru is a great idea but terribly executed here. The drive thru has never been ready to take my Order even with zero cars in front of me.

This used to be a go-to place on weekends… now it’s on the must skip. Stopped in for a Sunday morning breakfast run for the family. One would think that a place that sells bagels, would actually have bagels available… NOT!!! Had to wait 15 minutes for them to finish making bagels so I could get a bucket to take home. To top it off, they were almost out of cream cheese and had to give me a package from behind the counter. After waiting for the bagels, I tried to fill my soda cup with ice and soda… guess what… no ice! Each employee I spoke with just rolled their eyes and aid they would get to it. they didn’t.(Just walked out and forgot about the soda.) The fam had also requested a bagel w/Nova Lox so I ordered one… yet more disappointment when I got home and opened the package. Only 2 pieces of Nova on the sandwich(their usual has been 2 or 3). This place used to be a go-to and I’d see many friends and neighbors there. Unfortunately looks like it is going down hill and preparing to go out business. Save your money, time and frustration and drive a bit further to Bagel Café in Herndon or KSB Bagel at Fox Mill(heck… even grocer store bagels are better at this point). I will for sure from now on.

This place was surprisingly decent. Though the bagels can be pricey, they are also really filling and tasty. I ordered the nova lox bagel(it came with smoked salmon, onions, cream cheese, tomatoes, and capers) and truly enjoyed it. The restaurant is very casual and is certainly geared more toward carryout orders, which is what I did. The service wasn’t amazing, but was ok. And you get to choose from a variety of bagel types — Asiago bagel all the way!
