I recently acquired a Voice of Music 1000 stereo/record console from a garage sale and, of course, when I got it home and plugged it in, it didn’t work. Waaaah-waaaah. Actually, I had a feeling it wouldn’t work, but hey, a guy can dream, right? Anyway, enter Chris from the Voice of Vintage! I gave him a call and he came over one night after work. I mean FIVE stars alone for making house calls!!! He recognized my unit instantly as, coincidentally, he had recently repaired and sold one just like it. That was a godsend as according to Chris, my unit(along with parts for my unit) are getting pretty hard to find. He took it apart and did his troubleshooting and determined that he would have to take the parts home with him as he couldn’t fix them there.(The console is a behemoth, so there was no way he could move the entire console!) Eventually, he determined that the pre-amp was fried which worried me as I wasn’t sure if he’d be able to find replacement parts. But miracle worker that he is, Chris managed to find the parts he needed through his local contacts! When the time came for him to come back and put everything back together, I was super excited. We scheduled it for a night after work, and once everything was back in order, he showed me how to use the console and answered any questions I had. And he stuck to his estimated price! Throughout the whole process, Chris was very professional and friendly. He also kept me updated through texts and pics and would always respond to any of my texts/calls. Thanks so much, Chris, for bringing this vintage beauty back to life!

I purchased a vintage record player on craigslist as a Christmas present for my bf from a man named Fargo in northern california. Seriously. He said that there were a few issues with the arm dragging on the record player but otherwise it worked fine. What an understatement. Fargo mails me the record player via fedex(without providing adequate cushioning in the box) and it arrives cracked and decrepit. Upon inspection, it needs a WEALTH of repairs. Luckily, I found the Voice of Vintage. Chris gave me a reasonable estimate and fixed it for me beautifully. He even had it ready in time for Xmas which was unbelievable, given the number of pieces ahead of me in line. He updated me on the progress of the repairs via instagram, which was a nice touch, so I felt informed. As he was repairing it, he kept finding new areas that need fixing, but he didn’t increase my original quote— and that was extremely kind, as that record player was starting to feel like a money pit. When I went to pick it up, he spent around 45 minutes with me explaining how it worked, how to use it properly and even how to change the cartridge in the arm. I recommend Chris at the Voice of Vintage strongly: he is very gifted and methodical and truly knowledgeable when it comes to these antique and vintage pieces. Plus his home is like a mid-century time warp— very cool! If you visit him, you’ll feel like you stepped into a time machine!

Purchased a Zenith 1964 stereo console from Chris. I put a deposit down to secure the piece and after a few weeks he delivered a gorgeous refurbished masterpiece. Not only does the console sound amazing but his restoration of the cabinet is also a work of art.

Chris is great! He fixed my Mother’s Webcor record player from 1955. My Mom will be so excited, and I can’t wait to fill my home with the warm sounds of records. He was so informative and really nice, I could hang out and just listen to old music. He did an excellent job, and I recommend you to get your turntables fixed by him, he can work some magic and you’ll feel like your back in time again listening to your favorite records from the past. Give him a call you’ll be do happy you did.

1959RCA Purchased from Chris of Voice of Vintage based in Reseda, CA. I found Voice of Vintage here on Instagram whilst searching for a Vintage system. I originally purchased a 1957 voice of music of which I enjoyed. However, I was still looking for a more unique system with better sound yet a small piece for my small space… So I upgraded to this 59′ RCA Chris of Voice of Vintage did amazing work restoring this beauty and the sound is incredible not to mention it is also bluetooth capable so not only am I able to stream from the system with amazing sound I can listen to AMFM stereo and also my vinyl!(which is what I wanted). If you too are looking for a restored vintage system to play your vinyl on… I highly recommend you reaching out to Voice of Vintage! Very happy, Sheri Chamney

About a year ago, I was looking for a specific Zenith Console Stereo that we had in our house when I was a young boy. In my search, I ran across an ad on a local internet site and that is how I met Chris. I phoned him and explained to him what I was looking for, and he sent me a few pictures of a unit that he had which was very similar to the one I was looking for. Same year, and almost the same cabinet style. After viewing the pictures Chris sent, I went out to look at the unit and met Chris in person. He showed me the unit, and it was almost the exact same unit I was looking for! It needed a complete restoration, chassis, turn table, cabinet, and a few alterations for me. Chris did a fabulous job on this piece, delivered it, and all with extreme professionalism and ease. I also have a fairly large collection of Zenith Black Dial Radio’s from the 30’s which I’ve been collecting for the past 15 years or so. So I am very partial to Zenith. Well, since then, Chris did find the exact same Zenith Console Stereo which I was initially looking for that was in our house when I was a young boy. Needless to say, without hesitation, I bought that one from him as well. It was the wrong color, so Chris refinished the cabinet to my taste. It was Maple, and I wanted Cherry, or Walnut, anything but Maple. This one was playing, but had never been totally restored. Chris went through the Chassis, and turn table and got it all right, exactly the way I wanted it. Then, a few months later, I went out to visit him and he had a very nice Curtis Mathis unit which I immediately fell in love with. So here we go again! The cabinet was the wrong color,(Pecan), and it needed a full on restoration. Chris did a great job with this unit. It’s not a Zenith, but sometimes you have to jump out of the box and take a chance. I’m glad I did. After the restoration and delivery, there was an issue with the turntable which Chris immediately took care of. It was a very odd problem, but Chris found it immediately and took care of business. Chris’s passion for these long forgotten pieces is truly incredible. If you are looking to purchase a unit, I am certain Chris can find one for you. If you are looking for a repair to save your unit, call Chris, he can most likely repair it for you. If you have a unit that needs a full on restoration, call Chris @ The Voice of Vintage. He can do it for you. Keep up the good work Chris! Dave.

If you need any kind of vintage radio/phonograph repair I highly suggest getting into contact with Chris at The Voice of Vintage. I have taken several pieces to him(from big cabinets to portables) and he has worked miracles. He was even able to fix an old record cutter I had. He is a great communicator, has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to older electronics and his pricing is honest and fair. All his services, from the mechanics to the refinishing of a piece are exceptional.

I searched high and low for the right craftsman to rebuild my 1966 video vintage stereo console and luckily found Chris. He responded right away and came to the house. He took all the guts with him and returned(as promised) in 10 days. The stereo sounds as good as the day it was built. Could not be happier.

Chris is fantastic! He fixed the popping and crackling on my early ‘70s stereo cabinet in just a few hours and went above and beyond to glue together a broken piece. My records sound great and everything is running smoothly. So happy I took my stereo to Voice of Vintage.

I bought a sweet vintage console at the Rose Bowl over a year ago, where I assured that both the turntable & radio worked. The radio worked ok but the turntable wouldn’t play my vinyl. A little while later came the sound issues. Damn! Finding someone to fix one of these babies is NOT easy. There’s a guy in Studio City who doesn’t make house calls, has a very long turn around and doesn’t get great Unilocal reviews. Well… Lucky for me a friend told about The Voice of Vintage! Owner Chris Cuesta picked right up and made a house call within 3 hours! A super cool & knowledgeable guy(he’s been working on stereos since he was 15) Chris put my console right into his truck and said it would most likely be ready by early evening if I wanted to come and get it that day. Of course he was willing to deliver the next day but I wanted my Zenith back! When I drove to his house jazz was wafting out of the speakers and over the driveway. Chris completely cleaned & tuned up my console from end to end. Plus he hooked me up with Bluetooth so now I can play music off my iPhone & iPod! The sound is AMAZING! Chris also gave me a little history lesson about Zenith consoles and mine in particular and showed me some of his prized possessions. He’s quite the connoisseur of mid century consoles, record players & accessories. Best part? His prices are very reasonable. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He is truly the Voice of Vintage.
