If you want authentic Vietnamese food, this is the place to go to in the 818. They also had a new management who remodeled the whole place but the food quality is still tip top. Order a duck noodle soup or a roast chicken with rice if you’re a first timer. You’re welcome.

See Van’s sandwiches. They are the same shop.

I have been eating here off and on since the early 80’s and I think they raised their prices maybe 10%. They have been through a few owners since I first started going there and the latest owner has changed the way the sandwiches are made… the french rolls are now longer and skinnier. Anyhow I always get the Combo sandwich which is still very tasty. It has Pâté, pickled carrots/cucumber celantro, jalapanos, mayo and some funky sliced pork… all for $ 2.75…along with some shrimp spring rolls and a coconut milk it was under $ 6. Tasty food, cheap prices and I have never seen another non-Vietnamese person in all those years. It’s my strange little hole in the wall.
