butter chicken w/naan an order of basmati rice mango lassi aloo matar mushroom w/naan it was very good. i especially liked the butter chicken. we got the two mains with a spice level of 3. and it was very satisfying. i can take a fair bit of spiciness in my food, and i would say that the 3 was solid. most of the time it seems like i order a 3 and it’s more like a 2 at other places around seattle. it’s annoying to have to re-calibrate to the spicy levels with every single restaurant. even some places that put the little pepper next to the menu item and call it «hot and spicy» don’t make it so. oh, btw, the scale they run on is zero to 5. i think that the zero is very important. because there will be a certain contingency of people who don’t want any. and none(zero) is not the same as something(one, the lowest rating at most places). with the 3 they have, i would not try a 5. i know it would be too much. but i do plan on trying a 4 star butter chicken at some point. it will probably be slightly too hot, but sometimes you gotta just burn yourself a new one every once in a while to make sure you’re alive. i think I would like to try a lamb curry next time. p. s. the naan is very good i thought. it’s nice and fluffy, and very hearty. even after a 10min car ride home it was packed in such a way so that it didn’t end up soggy.

Simply put, the best Indian restaurant in Renton, Tukwila, Kent area. Very tasty and economical.

This place is really delicious! I’m surprised! I came here meeting up with two other friends, and was confused on why they were both so excited about this place when the outside of the place wasn’t that great. The food certainly proved me wrong! The staff was very friendly and patient, as my friend and I were waiting for the last one to arrive. Prices were reasonable for the portion size. The three of us had three orders of naan, I think that was plenty… maybe just order two orders for three people, unless you want to try all the different types. I loved the garlic naan! It went really well with my dish.

Delicious food, really great prices, especially for the«chef’s special,» which comes with a basket of naan. Gets crowded at lunch time, so come early for a table.

I love this place. I wish I could eat here every day. I usually get the chicken tikka masala. The sauce is divine. Perfectly spiced, velvety. Ugh I’m craving it now. The only downside is I wish it came with both rice and naan instead of either or

Don’t be detoured by the location of this place. It’s situated in DK Market and feels like the middle of no where but aren’t the best places holes in the wall? We placed an order over the phone for pickup. The lady who answered was super friendly and even hooked it up with chutney when we couldn’t make up our mind on which to try. She gave all of them to us. We ordered chicken tikka masala(3 stars), garlic naan, and plain naan. Portions were what you would expect for Indian food. The chicken tikka masala was creamy and the chicken was tender and moist. I love spice and 3 stars did just the trick. I’ve never met a naan I didn’t like so can’t complain there. Will definitely be coming back to Spice King.

It’s sad that a place, which started out well has been deteriorating over time. We were there end of Dec after almost a year. We ordered some saag paneer. The saag had clearly gone bad. We told them about it and they did apologize saying their refrigerator wasn’t working and offered to get another dish to replace it. Because they replaced without arguing, we gave it another shot today. This time, my husband ordered a to go. He got some Shahi Paneer except that the paneer was completely missing. It was just the orange sauce. We called them to learn that apparently, that’s the way they make Shahi Paneer where the paneer is all crumbled(not according to their menu description, of course). They should stop deceiving their customers. It makes a real bad impression. Guess that’ll be the last we go to Spice King.

For the price the food is okay. I’d prefer to go to a fast food place compared to this as the service will be faster and the food will be better

Came for lunch take out. Warning: parking is limited and tight since its shared with a market. Service: nice people who understood the time constraints of a lunch break. I ordered the butter chicken, which I normally do at Indian restaurants. They gave plenty of rice and the sauce was perfect! Ideal amount of tomato flavor, spice, and consistency(not too thick or watery). I wish they had a lunch size for less cost, it took me another meal or two to finish. But no complaints it was still amazing each time.

Seriously mind blown that in all my years of living in the area that I’ve never stopped by before. Quite easily the best 5 $ that I have spent in a long long time. I got the lunch special chicken wrap and drink for 4.99 $+tax. Such a good deal! Often times you sacrifice quality when you get copious amounts of food, but this is definitely not the case with Spice King. Seriously, the wrap is so big that the amount of food that falls out while you’re eating is a meal in itself! The wrap has rice, veggies, peas, tender cuts of chicken and curry/white sauce to bring it all together. More than happy with what I got, and you can bet that I will be returning, quite frequently at that!

Been there 3 times this month. Amazing. Everything I have tried has been delicious. Veggie Tikka masala, lamb coconut, chicken khari or something, and 2 other Veggie curries. Rice, garlic naan, paratha, Indian chai, service is great. Food is absolute delicious. I’m definitely coming again within the next week or two! I found my new favorite Indian place in seattle! Located in a run down building shared with a grocery store and salon. Barely any parking for peak hours. The surrounding entrance area may scare you before you go in. But don’t let it stop you. The food is amazing. I want moreee!

This is a casual restaurant adjacent to the DK Market I had seen and a friend told me was very good. We went in for lunch and I had the chicken wrap which was very tasty and for the price a great deal. I could not finish as a wrap, it was falling apart, so I picked up a fork and finished it off. I will be back to try out some other items.

We had Groupon, so came here one day for dinner. Wouldn’t have heard of or even noticed this place if it weren’t for the Groupon. The food was good; we really enjoyed it. And the service was very good; they were welcoming and friendly. Wouldn’t mind trying this place again.

Legit food. It is a tiny place but we like that. The menu is on the wall and we thought we could order at the counter, but we ended up being seated and ordering off a menu. The menu is on the small side but they have a good range of items for our liking. We tend to like the southern style of Indian or chaat so went with a veggie entrée and bhelphuri. She asked for the spice level for the entrée but neglected to ask for the bhelpuri, which was extremely spicy. It was made with fresh cut jalapenos and not too sweet like many are. One of the best we’ve had. I was glad that my husband had asked for a lighter spice on the veggie curry after that though. My taste buds were blown out. Veggie entrée was a little on the pricey side, but the bhelpuri is a great deal. It is located right next to DK market, which is a big plus.

Delicious Indian food! I’ve been walking past this place alot while going to DK market but never stopped by. Until finally, I gave in and decided to give it a try and I’m glad that I did. I purchased their groupon deal online and decided to try their chicken tikka masala with rice and also ordered a side of plain naan. Their chicken tikka masala was the best that I had that my sister and I end up finishing our plates clean. The restaurant is pretty small but very clean and they play Indian movie/songs for entertainment. Definitely coming back!

They changes cooks? My balti chicken had a weaker spice profile to it so it had a different flavor and wasn’t nearly as spicy. I couldn’t say what was off about the chef special since I couldn’t try the cream based dish but for how many time I’ve eaten here something is definitely different. Different enough to make us hesitant about going back any time soon

I’m always at DK market and always walk past this little place so I finally made a note to stop in when I was there. I had already eaten lunch beforehand so I wasn’t hungry but I knew I wanted to try something. I decided to order the meat samosa. It wasn’t on any visible menu, but I asked if they had Rasmalai(a type of dessert) and they did! I added two orders of that to my to-go order as well. They came out quick and we were on our way. I tried both items when I got home and was really pleased with what I ordered. The meat samosa(one order came with 2 samosas) I had came with ground lamb and was nicely flavored and not overly salty. The mint and sweet(maybe tamarind?) condiments that came with it were really tasty as well. I could’ve used a little more spiciness to the samosa but overall I was really pleased. One order of Rasmalai had two pieces per order and I wish it was a little cheaper for the sizes you get, but I have to say, it was one of the better Rasmalai I have had so I can maybe look the other way. I definitely want to come here for lunch one day and try out their more substantial dishes.

I bought a groupon to this restaurant and decided to try it out today. I ordered buttered chicken, meat samosa, rice and garlic naan. Buttered chicken is so flavorful and the chicken is so moist. The meat samosa is filled with lamb, peas and spices. SOGOOD! And the tamarind sauce with the samosa just compliments the whole thing very well. Rice was ok but the garlic naan was delicious dipped into the buttered chicken. Would definitely recommend this place to Indian cuisine lovers!
