Just like Stephanie, I got suckered by Mark«Mr. Awesome» Boteler. I try to give everybody benefit of the doubt — but Mark taught me a valuable lesson. Don’t. I can say I am lucky to only have thrown $ 400 into to Mr. Awesome’s Alcohol Fund. At least he left me with a parting gift of some garden equipment, lawn mower and shovel(which might be stolen as well). I saw Four Loco’s in the Yard Waste bin on daily basis while he was working. I have to say when Mark was working, he actually did OK. I just should have NOT pre-paid him for ANYTHING. He told me first that he has a friend that will bring in sand to put on top of my yard to help grass grow, then he told me he needs to pick up materials for cash to upgrade my sprinkler system — then he asked if I could give him a pre-payment on the job he is doing for me so he could get himself a truck(sine he would take a bus to get to my house). I should have gotten a clue when Mr. Awesome told me if he wasn’t doing«this»(aka landscaping), he’d be a criminal — to which I laughed off and didn’t give much thought. Anyway, after my total advance was $ 400, he started ignoring my call /text message. Good lesson, thanks to people like Mr. Awesome — I will have to treat any other contractor, who might be good people, with a grain of salt. I usually don’t wish bad on people — but Stephanie and I are not the only folks that got taken for suckers by Mr. Awesome. There are others, no doubt. Mr. Awesome, I hope you have a nice 8’x8’ waiting for you — with Bubba, who has very low standards, visits every Thursday.

My husband and I just returned from small claims court where we have spent many hours over the last 4 months attempting to get our money back for work we contracted with Mr. Boteler to do, which he did not perform on. We did have a signed contract and signed receipts for paying him $ 1,500 to build a fence, cut down 20 bushes, remove stumps and remove debris, and we have almost nothing to show for the work, outside of several broken tools of ours that he and his crew used and broke without replacing, a neighbor’s yard where he dumped all the bushes he had been paid to cut down and haul away(never did, we had to hire a second company to come chip and remove the debris), and a fence with posts that were not cemented correct and was never finished in 8 days, despite having contracted the work to be for 3 – 5 days in total. We also have a compost bin that was full of alcohol bottles consumed and left by Mr. Boteler while on the job. What we do have, is a successful judgment in our favor for Mr. Boteler to pay us for what he has basically stolen from us. I IMPLOREYOUTOSTAYASFARAWAYFROMTHISPERSONASPOSSIBLE. Do not give your hard earned money to someone who cares so little for the work he does or rather doesn’t do. Our experience with Mark was nothing short of a nightmare, that is still on-going. Please take your business elsewhere.
