I’m sad to have to report this but customer service has gone to shit in the past few months. I’ve been taking my dogs to see Kelly for many years. I still love him and he does a great job but the front desk staff just sucks. What kind of business tells you they are too busy to answer your call and asks you to call back and leave a message? Suggest firing the idiot managing the desk and finding someone smart enough to actually answer the phone.

The staff and doctor were welcoming, warm and took great care of my cat Sassy. They were able to accommodate me quickly, and followed up on my online booking to check if a more urgent visit was needed.

We think of pets just like our children as many of you, I’m sure do as well. Their care is critical to us and we don’t trust them in the hands of just anyone. Dr. Kim Nicholas is fabulous. He cares! His staff is amazing. His office is convenient and clean. He’s also a Harley guy so how could you possibly go wrong?

I still take my now 12 year old dog here. I love Dr. D. She’s so awesome. My dog is pretty sick these days and she takes such good care of him. Best Vet ever.

Staff is very friendly and understanding. I would recommend Dr. Deri. My dog is very wary of strangers and warmed up to her very quickly. On the other hand, Dr. Nicholas seemed bothered I had brought in my dog and did not attempt to make any connection w my dog nor did my dog want to make any connection w him. He also felt that a muzzle was necessary for my dog while Dr. Deri did not. Overall service was good though.

We loved meeting Dr. D! She was amazing. We will be switching our care over from VCA in Issaquah so that our 8 year old dog will be seen by the same Dr. every time and so that we are able to connect with the staff. Amazing experience. Thank you to the staff at Cedar River for their kindness and passion for what they do!

I always read reviews to help me decide so I started writing reviews as well to help other people.
I took my Chihuahua in last week to be spayed and Dr. Keri did a great job.
As soon as I picked up my dog in the evening, the assistant at the front desk gave us detailed explanation about how we should take of my dog durning her recovery plus all the stuff that should and should not happen and if so, what we should do. They provided us a 24-​hour phone of an animal hospital so that we could call in case of an emergency.
Another thing that made me happy is that the price spent for the surgery was way cheaper than other places that I called before.
My dog was feeling great just 3 days after the surgery.
Recommending and returning.

New to this neighborhood and with a 6 month old black Labrador, I scoured the streets for my puppy’s new vet. Yes, I could have trusted my fellow Unilocalers, but I wanted to actually walk-​in to locations to get a feel for what Poppy and I would be getting into. After walking in to several nearby offices, I got the best feeling immediately upon entering.
Poppy’s first appointment, in preparation for her spay, was for a urinary tract infection and third round of shots. As rambunctious as my Poppy Puppy was, Dr. Nicholas and team handled her professionally and courteously; I had been concerned they might kind of shove/​order her around making me and her uncomfortable. That was a completely unfounded concern. They absolutely loved her and despite focusing on corralling a puppy Dr. Nicholas explained to me what he was doing the entire time. We even had a few laughs about puppy life. Poppy was at absolute ease without any anxiety.
The day of Poppy’s spay, the office kept me informed throughout the day. I was truly thankful for their commitment to calling me as I worried about my puppy. All went well and I haven’t any complaints.(They would be a five if they were a mobile vet.)
I have already scheduled her upcoming shot and have been told they are $ 20 each. I don’t know if this is comparable and I do not care as I know my dog and I are both happy!

The receptionist was great. She squeezed me in for a vet appointment for the same day. The honor the Seattle Humane Society free vet check up that comes with the adoption. They took really good care of my German Shepherd mix. And when she had a hard time with taking the temperature for my 5 month old puppy, she was very patient. She gave him a treat when she was done since she knew how scary these appointments are for puppies. The doctor gave good recommendations on deworming since he doesn’t want to give extra medication if it is not needed. He told me to bring in a stool sample to know exactly what to treat him for. The overall experience was great and they took the time to get to know my rescue puppy. I don’t have any information on pricing since my first visit was free. They also gave me advice on my breed and what to expect in the future. My baby is happy and healthy. We will be going back with the stool sample and I have found a vet who I trust.

We just moved to Renton from out of state and needed a new vet to prescribe us a heartworm preventative for our miniature schnauzer. They don’t carry the brand we use (Trifexis) but Dr. D agreed to write us a prescription so we could order it from an online pharmacy.
During the check up, Dr. D noticed that our dog had a retained baby tooth and recommended we get it extracted. She also gave us advice on brushing our dog’s teeth and gave us a toothbrush and toothpaste. She even let our dog pick out which toothbrush she wanted, which was cute. She was very good with our dog and even though our dog hates going to the vet, the visit went well.
We were told the clinic would call with an estimate on the procedure but we never did get a call. No big deal, but it would have been nice to know before hand. The procedure ended up costing about $ 450, include a dental cleaning. Definitely more money than I would have liked to pay, but I think that’s fairly standard.
They extracted the tooth and sent us home with medication and instructions. They called the next day to check how she has doing and even called the next week to make sure everything was still going well. I really appreciated that. They even trimmed her nails while she was out for free.
Overall, I think we’re pretty pleased with this vet and plan on continuing to use them for our pet’s care.

Very bad experience. I was told a procedure would be $ 800 to $ 1,200. I requested an itemized estimate, but after numerous phone calls, didn’t receive it until six days later, the day before the tentatively scheduled procedure. Dr. Nicolas was very abrupt and rude when I questioned him about some of the charges. The staff is friendly and helpful, but Dr. Nicolas is obviously primarily interested in increasing his profit margin.

Very nice staff, very quick to get in and helped. Easy to make an appointment. Always am nervous taking my pit bull mix anywhere because of the breed negativity, but they were so loving to her, giving her kisses and treats. She was so happy! The only issue I had is that when it came down to breaking down the bill for the surgery she was going to have to have, none of the numbers added up… so that was strange, and it was a little expensive. But other then that, it was a good place to take her. Doctor D is super nice :) Edit: Though we did not choose them for our animals surgery, they did call us the next day checking on our dog, making sure that she had been able to go somewhere to get the surgery and that she was recovering well. I thought that was so nice, and so professional that they really did care for our animal. Will certainly take her back her if there is any urgent issues with our animals.

Prices are reasonable. Doctors and staff are friendly and helpful. They will take time to answer questions and give your little buddy lots of treats. My dogs love going here and so do I. I’ve tried many vets and this place is the best — hands down.

Customer service was good, prices were average, and overall good experience. The check up was about $ 60 and every shot was about $ 18. Check up is a little more than average I think, but worth it. The facility was very clean and seemed more up to date compared to other vet places. Lots of parking and easy to find location. The Vet and Technicians were all friendly and professional. The Vet was very accomodating and answered any questions I had. Scheduling was easy over the phone, and minimal wait time when I arrived for my scheduled checkup for my dog. Overall I would recommend.

Very sweet staff!
I am not a customer here as I have a regular vet already, but I just moved to the neighborhood and on my way home from work I saw a little dog running up, down and across NE 4^th (four lanes of busy traffic). It’s a miracle he wasn’t smooshed.
I am not equipped to house another dog while I’m looking for the owner so I took him to Cedar River. They scanned him for a chip (none) and agreed to house him until King County Animal Shelter could take over his care.
Thanks guys! I work in the veterinary field too and am always stunned by how very few hospitals will house a stray for a few hours or a day.

I have take my dogs here for 10 years. I also, board my dogs here while away on trips. My dogs are excited to go to the vet — go figure!

After many years we have decided that our pets deserve better. Really bad experience. Looking for a vet we can trust. Can’t express our disappointment strongly enough.

They seemed nice until I met the doctor. He teased my dog by pretending to give him a treat, and then taking it away from him. Eventually, he gave him the treat, but my dog quickly took it away thinking the doctor would take it away from him again. The doctor took it as aggression, and then started growling at my dog. He muzzled my dog, and looked at him.
I also came in the vet’s office to have my dog’s ears looked at, and to get a thyroid test. The doctor did look at my dog’s ears, but refused to check his thyroid.

I have been a customer for 6 months. They are very thoughtful and caring to my dog Peanut. He is a stray Chihuaha/​Jack Russel mix and tweaked his back in my truck when I first got him. They checked him out thoroughly and diagnosed his back strain, gave him a shot for pain relief and set me up with doggie Demerol for 4 days, he recovered like a champ. Also, had him fixed there the next month, very caring and thorough. I had him chipped next and they took great care of him. I’m having him boarded there this weekend and will report out on that later. If you want a VET on the cheap, go some where else, if you want quality care and can pay for it like me, you will find value here. They do appreciate my business and the followups and web page for my pet are great!

I started taking my animals to this vet because we recently moved into the area. I used to live in Bothell and went to Canyon Park Veterinary Hospital and my husband and I have recently decided to start taking our animals back there (despite the 45 minute drive) and I suggest you do too. I have brought my animals in 5+ separate visits and nothing has ever been fixed. I brought my dog in because he had a bad rash, the doctor said it was a staph infection, and gave us expensive medicine that did nothing. I brought my cat in because she was peeing on things she shouldn’t be, he tested her poop for parasites and nothing came back. He didn’t even check for a Urinary Tract Infection which, I have now learned, is the most common reason for this problem in cats. Save your money, and take your pets to the Canyon Park Vet where they cost less and actually fix the problem.
