These guys are F**king thieves!!! Charged my friend $1,087 for an alternator & belt! Charged a $150 "diagnostic fee"(which should have been applied to the labor when the job was OK'd) & then $311 "labor" to change the alternator which is a half hour job with "book" time of 1 hour, then $611 for parts plus another $40 for "shop supplies"!! There is zero breakdown of the price for the parts, or the labor time billed or their hourly rate! A total bulls**t invoice & scam operation!!!! They are exactly the kind of jerks that give honest automotive shops a bad name!!! BTW; I've been a professional mechanic, managed, & owned / operated my own shops for 50 years so I'm NOT just some crybaby making salacious accusations!!!

Every positive review that you’ll read about Reno Vulcanizing Works is absolutely true.
I first came in after absent-​mindedly skidding on ice/​snow and smashing myself into the curb. They inspected my car for me and let me know that I had a bent sub-​frame which would need to be replaced. Everywhere I called quoted me 3k+ for the parts alone, but Ken took the time to work with my budget and spent an entire day on the phone calling around until he was able to find a used frame which he had shipped from Roseville for less than half of 3k!
Since then I’ve also been in to have my tires replaced, and since I had the tires replaced with them they have always lived up to their word and will check balance and alignments with no extra cost!
They truly do care more about helping you with what your car needs are than nickel-​and-​diming you. I have and will continue to high recommend Reno Vulcanizing Works to all of my peers who are looking for a respectable, well-​knowledged staff to take care of them.

This business never ceases to amaze me. They place the customer first and they understand the concerns of the customer, especially when they are faced with the uncertainty of an unknown repair and the costs associated with. I came in with a troubled idle problem on my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the mechanic there diagnosed it within minutes and the part arrived a few minutes later. I was on my way in less than an hour. Their prices were very reasonable. I am very glad I found this place.

Just swung in there after having issues with my car starting. Bobby and Julio helped me out and they were fantastic. Found it was a super simple fix and then pointed out a few other things I might want to look into down the road (I had recently purchased the car used and hadn’t had it checked out yet). They weren’t pushy at all and really helpful. Definitely feel they went above and beyond and will be bringing my cars their way in the future.

Terrible place that will just take your money. I took my car in to fix my abs system. Instead they replaced my break pads after I specifically told them not to. After realizing their mistake I was informed I would only be charged the parts not the labor. When I get my bill that was not the case. Instead they charge me to fix the breakfas on rear only what it would cost to replace all my break pads. Then with the extra charges I couldn’t afford to replace the part I specifically asked them to. And to top it off after they replaced my breakpads, I had a terrible scratching noise when I would turn. After taking everything apart, I found the mechanic that replaced my breakpads just jammed the breakpads on the causing it to scrap along the wheel well when I would turn. Avoid at all cost, shotty work and charge you for items you specifically tell them not to fix and lie about it.

Horrible place!!! I am a business owner with little time to do things. I dropped my truck there for a simple alignment and oil change, got charged 50.00 for the oil and they forgot to do my alignment. When spoke to the supervisor of the elder man who set my appointment, his reply was, mistakes happen, he offered no way to resolve the situation. Upon leaving the elder man came outside, got in my face and threatened me, when I would not listen to him.
I will never recommend this place!

You really can’t do better than these guys. The customer services is great and they do outstanding work. I feel like I’m taking my car to a trusted uncle. Not only do they do great work, but they balance my safety against my wallet. Price is great and I feel confident every time I leave. Kudos to this team of people.

Man these guys are great. They worked on a few of my vehicles and they got the job done in a timely manner. Staff is friendly and they are in good spirits. We left a work vehicle here once and it was making a ticking noise. I told them about it and they got it all worked out. I also told them to do an oil change and no issues there. They did a great job.
Another time we sent another work vehicle here to get the fuel line replaced because it was cut and we needed a new one. After the job was done they called us up to pick up the vehicle. They did that job with no problems and was also done in a timely manner. Thanks for reading my review.

Flawless customer service! I needed a new set of tires and the staff at Reno Vulc truly took the time to work with me to get the best type of tire for my car. They considered my driving needs, budget and the tire manufacturers willingness to honor the tire warranty.
The morning of the installation, Josh worked his magic to speed up the installation process so my car was ready in a little over a hour. This even included a brake inspection. When I picked up my car, the staff even gave me all the forms necessary to get a $ 70 rebate from the tire manufacturer!
Head to Reno Vulc for all your car care needs. You won’t be disappointed. The staff is honest, well trained and professional and they stand behind their work.

Very very pleased with this place. I had a problem with noise on my suspension that alarmed me so I took it first to Tires Plus. They said it was a noise from my exhaust, so they recommended me to a muffler shop. I took my car to the muffler shop, and they said they «fixed» the noise and low and behold the noise was still there. After taking my car to several other shops, (le schwab, big o tires, mechanics, etc.) they all said there was nothing wrong and that my car’s noise was normal. I started to give up until I explained my problem to a fellow coworker, aka mechanic, and he recommended me to Reno Vulcanizing.
When I took my car to RV, I told them my situation, and they suspected several things and found out my car needed an alignment, and they did my alignment for free that day. I was advised by Roberto to get certain parts, and then come back, and they would do the work. When I got my car back, I was very impressed! THEY FIXED IT!
I recommend these guys to everyone. They’re very friendly, professional, and knowledgable which are key factors to being a successful company. Roberto did an excellent job treating me as a first time customer, and their level of customer service is what other auto shops need to model after. I will definitely be returning to this place.

I made arrangements in advance for my newly purchased 1979 Winnebago Brave to get full service at this place before driving her across country. I arrived a day early, but I was given a royal welcome (no exaggeration) by the owner and his team. These people could teach and train others in customer service… and I will NEVER forget them. I was so thrilled that I had my partner Fed Ex them Jake’s Ice Cream from our shop to thank them. Best of all? Josh Brown followed up not once but twice to make sure we made it back to Atlanta safely. We have named our RV, «Reno»…not after the wonderful town, but the amazing repair shop we’ll always appreciate.

Called to schedule a brake job, simple pad swap, already purchased new AC Delco Durastop Professional pads and was told they will not use customer’s parts. Ironic considering the AC Delco logo they use. Even more absurd, the guy tells me «no one is going to use customer’s parts»…I was born at night but not last night sir… every other shop is more than happy to use customer provided parts and not try to con people into rebuying them with a markup. Thanks for being horribly disreputable and inspiring me to write a review, something I rarely do, but you take the cake.

Steve Besso honest and friendly his team at the Plumb store are hard working and dedicated to customer service I bring my company car their and personal car for service and the work is done right at a fair price better service than the car dealers job we’ll done

When we lived in Reno, and a friend of mine suggested we go to Reno Vulcanizing for our new tires.
A month after purchasing new tires, one of the tires had a blow out, and we took it back to Reno Vulcanizing.
Unfortunately they made us pay full price for a new tire. No discount, no help, nothing.
After using Discount Tire, we have grown to expect great service as they offer amazing service. And they are super fast when it comes to getting new tires. Save yourself the frustration and hassle of poor service and avoid Reno Vulcanizing.
Never went back, and never will.

I have taken my vehicles here for over ten years, and my family has done business with them for decades There are not enough words to describe how good they have been to us. They are honest, fair, and dependable. I trust them for the safety of myself and my children daily, and they do not let me down. If anything ever comes up that they cannot fix (ex: muffler), they have referred me to other ethical and trustworthy businesses. I am so grateful to Ken and his entire crew there for all that they have done for me over the years. I feel safe and secure doing business here. I have sent many friends and family members here, and they also rave about the service. If you chose to do business with Reno Vulcanizing, you will not be disappointed. :)

I had to come here because my car was making a strange noise. They scheduled for me to come in because the manager Ken wanted to hear the noise with me before taking it from me. I really appreciated that. When we drove around, nothing was happening and he said he can’t charge to fix something he can’t here. Then lo and behold, the noise happened. He diagnosed it from sound alone but assured me he would double check in the shop and would make sure that was the only problem. He explained how it would have happened and why I should fix it now rather than waiting.
Obviously no one wants to spend money on a car, the idea makes me sick especially before the holidays, but I trust this place and they are always fair. I hope I don’t have to go back anytime soon, but if I do, I will know I am taken care of.

Two terrific experiences have persuaded me that these guys are honest.
I bought new tires here, which needed to be special ordered. I never asked about price. Yet when the bill came, the price, with installation, matched the lowest price I found online for the tires alone.
Months later, my brakes were squeaking slightly, so I took my car in for an inspection. I would have easily believed they needed to be changed, but the service manager called me to tell me that I had plenty of useful life left on the pads. I offered to pay them for the inspection, but they declined.
In both instances, the mechanic could have taken advantage of me to make a buck. But they didn’t.
When something does go wrong with my car, I’m bringing it here. Terrific, honest service.

I guess I just couldn’t get enough of this place after spending a lot of money and most of day here on Thursday, I was back at 8 am on Saturday after trying to get my tires switched out at not one, but two different Wal-​Marts who couldn’t accommodate me. Roberto remembered his promise to me to give me a really good deal on switching my tires, told me if I could get there in 10 minutes, he’d have my tires switched out in 45 minutes (compared to the two hours or longer estimated at the Wal-​Marts). DONE. These guys are absolutely the best.

Went here for a second opinion about my brakes (first location was going to charge $ 460, yikes). They were able to inspect my brakes with in an hour of walking through the door without an appointment and with very friendly and welcoming service.
Then after a little wait the good news, I didn’t have to change anything about my brakes! They suggested to get them inspected again in the next few oil changes and that I was good to go.
I was a bit concerned only because I was going to be traveling a lot in the next month and the «boss» himself assured me that I would be fine.
It’s is refreshing to know that this business was absolutely honest and wasn’t trying to take advantage of me (especially being female).

So I eventually did need a battery, and I came back here for more of their fabulous service. They didn’t have a battery in stock for my German sedan, but they still were able to get a battery in and get it installed in less than an hour. Amazing!
The service here really is friendly and helpful, and the prices are fair. Sure, maybe you could get a battery cheaper elsewhere, but I’d rather come here, get expert advice, know that I’m not going to be ripped off, and be in and out in less than an hour.
