I was referred specifically to PMA by the TMJ center for a sleep study. I had to deal with a «new patient coordinator» that kept saying that she never received my referrals even though they were sent multiple times. No one else will help you. This was all by voicemail tag as I could never get through to her in person. Finally, I got the person sending the referrals to call another employee there and they confirmed they received it. This took 6 weeks. After I finally got her in person she booked me for three months out just to have a «consultation». This isn’t even for the actual sleep study. As my insurance changes at the end of the year I started looking at who else I can see with my current and new insurance. I called the Nevada Sleep Diagnostics and it sounds like the process will be taken care of in a couple of days. They said a couple days after they have my referral I will be going home with a home test machine(insurance requirement). I’m beating myself up for not looking for alternatives sooner. If you are like me and just need a diagnosis and are having trouble getting treated reasonably just skip this center and look for other options because they are out there. Why suffer for months more than you have to and put up with being treated horribly?

Whether intentionally being evasive or genuinely not willing to provide a cost for services is in my opinion completely unprofessional. Because they couldn’t provide a cost at the time of check out from my consultation when I asked for it, prior to scheduling a sleep study, I was told someone would give me a call with the info. I was provided incorrect information via VM by someone from the office who must have misunderstood the question, they gave me the price for the office visit I had just paid for. When I called to verify the info(which I knew could not be correct) I was transferred back and forth until I was deposited to Libby, who felt it was her duty to educate me as to why no one could provide a cost. At one point I was making a statement about no other doctors office not providing cost information, even the dentist can tell you how much the services will cost with your insurance and was interrupted by Libby with«excuse me» to which I replied«I will excuse you» and hung up. Am I to believe that 1000’s of people actually consent to unknown procedures at an unknown cost. WOW. Sorry not me. Especially a procedure that requires prior authorization, which says to me you have a really good idea what the cost is going to be.

Another great experience with Dr. Skaria. I really appreciate his sincere interest in my well being. He focuses on my daily activities to ensure that I’ve got the proper sleep program. His staff is attentive and friendly. Unlike the other reviews, I understand the purpose of an IVR and know how to navigate them. The one time a year I call to set an appointment; they’re made quickly and professionally.

Very hard to get a live person on the phone.

Let me start off by saying the doctors and staff at the sleep center are great. I have been a patient for many years and they have been very professional and friendly. What has gone wrong is that I recently had a change in insurance which required a new authorization be sent to allow for the replacement of my CPAP supplies. I called and was confronted with a phone menu that had nothing clearly related to my issue. I tried different options and finally got a live person through the billing department, who couldn’t help, but gave me a number to call. Of course that was the same number they had. I did leave voice mails on a couple of these options and did so multiple times without a response back. I finally went to the Sleep Center in person seeking help. The receptionist said they couldn’t help there, to try billing. I insisted that wasn’t working. She talked to someone in back and gave me another number. She said the person on that line handles authorizations. I thanked her and called that number. I am now three calls in over a week still without a response. I have had travel in between, but it is now a month since I started trying to get this authorization, and am still no further than before. UPDATE5÷14÷2013 Extremely frustrating. I continue to be shuffled off. I thought I finally found the right person, but after intial progress, nothing. No call back, no contact, nothing. This is now five months after my initial request and still no resolution. I think I will find a new doctor. UPDATE May, 2014 Upping from one star to three. Latest interaction has been much better with quick service. In the midst of an order for an updated machine and all has been smooth so far.

I guess my experience with PMA is not exactly the same as some of the other reviewers. To me they seem like a billing machine. $ 40 for an appointment to make an appointment for a sleep over. $ 80 for the sleep study. $ 40 more to tell me the results of the sleep over. These fees are my co-pay for a specialist visit but I only saw a specialist once — the other visits were with ‘almost doctors’. And I’m sure if I spring for there little CPAP thing they’ll expect me to continue paying $ 40 a visit 4 or 5 times a year so I can see more almost doctors. These guys have the ethics of a used car salesman.

Been a longtime patient. The new location is easier to locate. The staff are pleasent to greet you at the front door to the time you leave. Drs are awesome and take extra care to advise of your concerns.
