Great food and awesome service ! Visiting Reno came to el pescador to enjoy a late lunch. Had the pescado relleno de camaron(fish stuffed with shrimp and a garlic cream sauce) and it was amazing. Mentioned it was my birthday and they surprised me with a cheesecake! Will definitely be back when visiting Reno!

The fish plate and the buttery/lemon sauce shrimp was excellent! The meat was a bit dry. But I was satisfied with our dinner overall. Great service and knowledgable waiter. She got out order out in no time and asked if we were doing okay. The utensil and plates were spic and span clean.

Quite night, warm welcome, prompt sitting, boom salsa and chips served, drinks ordered and served, loving this. Our fish Diablo was ok, the Diablo sauce had no depth and a little too much, kinda drowned the fish, the rice, tasteless and definitely not fresh Loved the margarita I don’t know, maybe I’ll give it one more try someday, in the meantime, Hasta la vista

Such a great place with friendly staff and amazing food! Not to mention at a very reasonable price! They start you with complimentary homemade chips, salsas and warm bean dip! Yum! They have such a wide array of food and although I absolutely LOVED the beef enchiladas I got I regret not trying one of their many delicious sounding seafood choices! Next time I am definitely trying their seafood! Great experience at this restaurant and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Well I never walked out of a restaurant till today. Order was taken but never turned in. Ordered drinks got them the first time. The second time ice tea instead of London Ice tea. Wife asked the person who seated us in Spanish what was up with the order. He never checked on it so after about 40 minutes we walked. I’m not giving 1 star because I never got to taste the food. Good luck to them.

This is becoming our go-to place whenever we catch a movie at the nearby parklane theater. It’s nothing fancy by any means. In fact, it’s downright home-y, at least for me. All that matters though is the they serve seafood, Mexican style. The good news is, the food is really good. We usually order fish here, or some kind of seafood, which is their specialty. Tonight, I had the Camarones con chipotle(shrimp in chipotle sauce), and the server made my day by granting my request to please add octopus in there as well. It was a slam dunk. The shrimp and the octopus were tasty and not chewy at all. Which made me realize I was expecting them to be chewy, as is my usual experience in other Mexican restaurants. I’m glad they did not meet my expectations that way. My friend had the pescado a la veracruzana(grilled fish filet in Veracruz-style sauce. She let me have a few bites, and it was delicious. Very tasty without being too salty, or too sweet, as what usually happens when something is swimming in some type of sauce. Service was good, fast, and friendly. We made it to the movie with a few minutes to spare. Will most likely be back should we catch another movie at parklane again.

Maybe just hit an off day, but have been wanting to try this place for awhile and I will never go back. Service was fine, but the food was terrible. The table smelled like a dirty rag had been used to wipe it down. You know that smell when the water should really have been changed awhile ago, but wasn’t, that’s what the table smelled like. Salsa and bean dip show up at the table when you sit down. One is a chipotle sauce that the person I was with said tasted like cigarette ashes, but I thought just tasted like canned chipotle sauce. The other tomato based sauce also tasted like a can. The bean dip was fine. We ordered guacamole which was a reasonable portion, but had the flavor of one of those dry packets that you mix with avocado. It had the flavor and texture of dry milk powder, but the waiter assured us there were dairy ingredients of any kind in it. I got a ceviche salad, and my friend got fish tacos. I didn’t try the tacos, but my food was so salty, that I could actually feel the moisture being sucked out of my tongue when I tasted it. I tried mixing it with the salad, which was just lettuce to mellow out the saltiness of it, but it was just way too much. Inedible is the only way I can describe it. My guess is that the ceviche was made from canned ingredients days ago, frozen, and became more concentrated in sodium when it was reheated. So maybe it was better before or maybe no one tasted it before serving it, either way, it went uneaten. My friend I was with couldn’t stomach his tacos, but ate the side of rice. All totaled, service was fine, no complaints, food was mostly out of cans and had way too much salt in it, but that happens with canned food. Didn’t have drinks, so cannot comment on that. But wouldn’t recommend eating here.

This Mexican seafood place is kind of hidden from the main stream, but if you go down Plumb you’ll see it across the street from another favorite of mine — Super Burrito. Their seafood selection is basically shrimp, octopus, and fish fillets. I tried the shrimp and was satisfied. Sometimes I wish if Mexican restaurants would dabble with the possibility of maybe reducing the sodium content of their food. Either way, this place was delicious and a fine place to just sit, relax, have a margarita, and enjoy a little seafood wrapped in tortillas. The staff is super friendly as well.

I hate giving one stars to locations when I know how difficult it is to own a restaurant. However, it is difficult not to mention anything after you get diarrhea from eating here. The service was a typical Reno service. Again we get a waitress with an attitude. Pretty pathetic. The sauces, beans, and chips were not bad, but not amazing. The michelada was not tasty at all. I ask the waitress about«TAJIN» and she didn’t know what that was. Maybe I’m being to over exaggerated, but any«mexican» restaurant should know what that is. I’m a big seafood fan. This place is another disappointment of a restaurant here at Reno. It has so much potential, but won’t be coming back.

Although I utilize Unilocal often, I’m usually not one to write reviews. But this place deserved a good one. Not from Reno. Was playing poker a year ago & someone told me about this place. Wish we hadn’t waiting so long to try it. The service was excellent. Happy hour beers were a great price. The food was amazing. Authentic Mexican food! I had fish that was cooked Veracruz style. Best I have ever had. The flavor was so good and the fish was really fresh. My husband & son had the fish taco that they said was really good. We will definitely be coming here every time we come to town.

When I want seafood this is where I come! Been here about 4 times and I’m a fan, somewhat… Why they get 2 starts taken away? 1. Customer service 2. I like their fish stuffed with shrimp, BUT the sauce. It taste almost like a canned Alfredo sauce… they need to add a little more to it, maybe blend it with a jalapeño to give it a kick? Or some cayenne pepper? Idk but they need to add a little something to it. Beside that, yum! The chips with dip, beans and 2 salsas pretty good! Try not to eat too many since their portions are a bit more that average. I love getting their campechana! That’s what I usually get,(shrimp, octopus, and oysters)

Gentle reader, before we go any further, I’d suggest you look at the name of this establishment. A pescador is a fisherman. If you go into El Pescador and order something aside from fish… well…I don’t know what to tell you. El Pescador has a décor stuck somewhere in time and somewhere not terribly recent. I, for one, am fond of the ambiance… but then I’m a sucker for those tropical pictures that have speakers in them that play sea sounds… also…plastic sea life stapled to fake fish nets. The best things on the menu are the most«auténtico.» The tostada mixta is a delightful mix of shrimp and octopus. A bit toothy just like it should be. I’d also suggest the grilled fish tacos and the shrimp tacos. Both feature a nice slaw and fresh pico. The grilled fish tacos come with a slice of avocado. The Vuelve A La Vida is an insane gallon sized portion of sea life in a tomato broth. Delicious but huge. Take note that most of the tostadas and cocktails are served with ketchup, just as in Mexico. Thankfully it’s on the side. The chips and salsa are good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The iced tea is brewed. The margaritas are huge. El Pescador is not the cheapest place in town, nor the fanciest, but when I’m craving some octopus tostada action, it’s the best in town.

Good food, plentiful portions. No complaints. Had the carne asada w/enchilada, sampler platter, etc. More food than two people can eat. Come hungry!

Another 5 in the books. Here for dinner with my family. Between a full fried fish, shrimp cocktail, and carne asada we are stuffed and taking plenty of leftovers home. There has been a steady flow of patrons keeping the tables full the whole time we’ve been here and I’ve been hearing nothing but compliments from those sitting around us. At about $ 13 a person for everything we are leaving stuffed and looking forward to coming back! Also, apologies for the lack of photos. I’m not a fan of taking photos of food, especially when I’m eating out with people. I hope my words are adequate enough to sway someone’s choice to come here.

Gilberto Diaz I lived on California in the last five year and I ate in so many Mexican restaurant find different flavors. But in macho I find a natural mix of flavor in the food, the chips and the salsa are amazing. If you want to have a different experience macho Mexican restaurant will be the best option.
