Austin crest apartments is not a nice place to live. They are supposed to be affordable housing but charge 1000 for a 3 bedroom which doesn’t even have a washer and dryer. All other affordable housing apartments are less and have a washer and dryer. They can’t keep staff and their maintenance is terrible. They don’t ever complete work orders unless you call over and over again. The grounds are always awful with trash everywhere. I would not recommend living here.

My wife and I moved here in 2005. New to the area, we were happy to find a reasonably-priced apartment in a good location. For years, we found Austin Crest to be a wonderful place to live, with attentive staff and decent neighbors. The only odd thing – and this continued the entire time we were there – was random shutdowns of the pool to the entire community because ONE person misbehaved. Why punish everyone?(Well, now that we don’t live there anymore, I can confess: We’d go up to the nearby Northwest Pool and swim there. Shh.) It started going downhill about 2009. Maintenance requests ignored, lower-quality tenants, deteriorating grounds. But we stuck around, hoping matters would improve. Unfortunately, they did not. We ended up with the upstairs neighbors being loud, the downstairs neighbors being loud, and the neighbors to the side being loud. By 2012, we’d have enough and bought a house across town. Turns out that was less expensive anyway. Don’t live here if you can avoid it. There are many other much nicer apartments in the area, such as the one directly across the freeway.(We never lived in that one, but knew a few people that did and visited them often.) One good thing about the area, though, is its convenience to lots of shopping three minutes away, a park within a five minute walk, and community facilities such as schools, a post office, and a library within a couple miles.

Hello everyone, I would not suggest to live here if you had a choice, these apartments accept section 8 and it shows once you live here. In our case no one was around to see what kind of community we were about to live in and the management is really nice before you move in but then really useless once you live here they don’t care if your car gets broken into(which by the way is common here). The management could care less what happens here as long as you pay your rent and dont bother them, The maintenence is pretty decent, the rent is ridiculous, horrible freeway noise 24 hours a day, laundry room sucks and both gym and laundry is only open during office hours. There is a pool and security but everyone on the entire street swim here regardless if it is locked with the stupidest gate lock ever and the pool is freezing not heated and the sun doesn’t help. The river was warmer. people just kick it in(in mid day) there are even cameras supposedly but management obviously do not watch the video I wish I could move but I am stuck in a lease and have to deal with austin crest apartments on top of that ridiculous amounts of paper work i have never been to a place where they needed my whole life story to move in. I understand a background check but damn. Apts don’t look bad except you have to get your own washer and dryer which should have come with the apt remember we are renting for a high amount of rent and laundry is not open at night… This is a 24 hour town… caution this place is deceiving is seems nice until your here for a few weeks then things just start going down hill. I will not be renewing my lease.

The money you save on rent is spent on your utility bill, wind blows through the windows so hard it moves the blinds. They don’t fix anything in a timely manner, and only fix things that they are required by law to fix(and they take every minute of the 14 days). The people in the office are AWFUL and nasty, Don’t complain about noisy neighbors either, they don’t want to hear it. When it snows, be aware they don’t care if you slip and fall either, they might get around to putting salt down or plowing, probably not though. If you are a decent person, this is probably not where you want to live. Shootings, drug dealing, vandalism, all things you can look forward to(and all verifiable through the Reno PD). If you are a drug dealer/user, you will think you have hit the JACKPOT!!!
