I had some high hopes for a good yet affordable burrito on this side of town. It’s too bad that out of four visits there they got the order wrong every other time. Won’t eat here ever again.

Honestly, I was a little sketched out the first time I went to Alderto’s since the building is an old-ass Taco Time(I feel like anything that starts with Taco Time ends in tears) but I persevered and boy-howdy was it worth it. The cashier was friendly and helpful and once we ordered we went and caught an open booth. We both got shrimp burritos and since they were so cost effective we figured they would be small so we decided to split a super nachos. Mistake. Big mistake. The shrimp burritos were huge and tasty — two of my favorite things. The rice was well flavored and was chock full of shrimp, bell peppers and onions. Honestly, they were good enough to change your religion over. The nachos were really good, too. Thick chips that had just the right crunch. Real cheese too — not that fake, soupy crap. There is a salsa bar your abuela would be proud of and a delicious mix of pickled carrots, onions and jalapeños. This place is the real deal and make no mistake, Alderto’s and I will meet again. Soon. Also, as a side note, we finished all of it. I’m a lot of things, a quitter isn’t one of them.

Not a fan. I like tacos with onion and cilantro, this came with lettuce and cheese. The burrito was soppy… and the quesadilla was made in a microwave. The salsa was good. .could’ve been a lot hotter.

Mediocre food and service. Sorry. No pics this review. But really don’t need it. You can imagine a hole in the wall taco shop. No beer wine or any menu item of interest. Got a medium order to go and they missed packing the extra tortillas, and even salsa we paid for. Guac they did pack, had no flavor. Tasted dumped from a bag that they order once a week This is NOT the restaurant I went to a few short yrs ago. Should have gone Wendy’s down the street but we were hungry. Worst part is that every dish my hubby and I ordered tasted fried in dirty fryer oil. I mean dirty like over a week. If they use chorizo or any sort of pepper, you’d NEVER know it. No sour cream. I could go on… don’t bother going out of your way for this place.

Foods good. But to expensive for them to not be able to place a order correctly. 10 dollars for four beef tacos and they cant fix their drive through speaker.

Very friendly staff and very reasonably priced authentic, fresh, delicious Mexican food. We received complimentary chips to try the salsa bar. We ordered the carne asada and carnitas plate and asada tacos. We even had leftovers due to the amount of food they give you. If ever I’m in Reno I’ll definitely come back again and again.

Coming from Escondido, CA, where there are multiple Alderto’s just blocks away from each other, I was relieved when I found this one. The food is great, as always and the customer service is pretty too great. I am a huge fan of the original bean and cheese burrito and cheese quesadilla, as they have mastered the technique’s. Previously, I have tried the Carnitas burrito, and it is also delicious. I’m sure that any food on their menu will be amazing. This is classical Southern California Mexican food…

Stopped here on a mission for some messy chicken nachos. I hate hate cilantro so I went without the guac. The woman taking our order was super friendly, and the guys preparing the food were super accommodating, and were able to add a ton of fresh avocado to my order for super cheap. The nachos were loaded with chicken and cheese, but I wish there had been more beans, as my chips ran dry towards the end. The serve-your-own salsa bar was great, though. I will definitely be coming back to satiate my nacho cravings.

I used to love this place but after my experience today with an order they just couldn’t get right, a huge attitude from employee, Yesenia and food that wasn’t even close to their norm, I’m done with Aldertos. Sorry guys but good restaurants are a dime a dozen so I wont be back… even if it means saying goodbye to the salsa that I really like. Not worth it & thats disappointing.

Aldertos is on my list of frequent places to go for lunch during the work day. It’s fast, convenient off the highway, good and cheap. I mainly get the two shrimp tacos as that is easily the best thing on the menu and surprisingly filling for just two tacos. Tortillas are soft and doubled up to support the delicious spicy sauce covering the shrimp. Don’t forget to get the Horchata with your tacos!

So I’ve been here 3 times. The first time I got their Flautas. And it was good. Then I got like a bean burrito and it was good. Went there again and got their fish tacos. The fish was crispy and didn’t taste fishy at all. It was really good. For a small family little fast food place it’s pretty good. I think this is just everywhere I go when I eat at a Hispanic food place. I always ask for extra Spanish rice and no beans but they always seem to forget. The horchata isn’t the best here. I’ve definitely had better. Overall haven’t had a bad experience here at all. Oh yeah. The candle and the thing in the middle of the tables kind of need to go. Since people drop food on them and it’s not easy to clean off.

Fantastic place to grab a quick, hot meal. The beef tacos combo plate I had was perfectly off set with the mango fresco I got to wash it all down. Juicy, tender meat with generous portions of the standard re-fried beans and rice and a homemade taco shell. This paired with decent prices, a friendly staff and well stocked salsa bar means that this is now a favorite place of mine!

Alderto’s is my go-to spot when I’m hungry and need to grab something quick. Service is generally pretty quick, the food is fresh and the serving sizes are hefty. My top 3 favorites include the Asada Burrito, Breakfast Burrito and Steak Quesadilla. The Asada Burrito cuts out all the fluff(rice & beans) that other restaurants add as a cheap fillers. It’s solely comprised of carne asada, guac and pico de gallo. The Breakfast burrito is always a solid option(and is served at all hours of operation) and goes great with the wide array of salsas available at the salsa bar. The steak quesadilla is amazing and is probably one of the largest quesadillas you’ll ever eat. Another solid option. Quick tip: If you have a UNRID you can get 10% off any order(not sure about TMCC).

This is my favorite«fast food» type Mexican Restaurant to go to. It conveniently located near the freeway and the food is really quite good. The interior has a fast food vibe with the classic booths and sparse décor. It looks clean though. You have to ask for the key to use the restroom and they are clean as well. I’ve always ordered to go and I’ve had several items off the menu with no complaints. They are pretty quick about getting the food out and it’s hot and fresh. It’s made from scratch and has a home cooked appeal. The prices are reasonable for the portion size and they have a salsa help yourself salsa bar with several salsas to choose from. I intend to continue exploring their menu. I really like their rolled tacos.

Okay I’ve fat assed myself here enough times now to write a decent review: There is nothing like getting out of work late and getting into your car only to hear the horrific sound of your engine failing. I’m not talking about the engine of your crappy car, I’m talking about the engine of your sore aching body. your stomach. So it’s just before midnight and there’s no food at home, where do you go? You can go to McDonalds and add a couple layers to your triple chin, you could go to In-N-Out and wait in the drive thru line till the sun comes up, you can go to Taco Bell then go straight to your toilet when you get home. .OR! .you could get some good ass Mexican Food at Aldertos! I’ve eaten here a couple of times and have tried a couple different burritos, California, Carnita, Steak Ranchero. all were pretty good but the best one hands down(so far) is the CARNEASADA Burrito. It’s thick and juicy(get your mind out the gutter) and it’s less than $ 6. I also get the Super Nachos which is the Carne Asada Burrito but on chips and it is also extremely delicious. Though a little more pricey at about $ 8.although it easily could serve 4 people or one day ass man like myself. I haven’t had to wait too long in the drive thru yet as I usually go after 8pm. And inside is nice too. It has a family owned feel too it. Overall I would say this place is awesome(if you live close enough) good food, great service! If it ain’t midnight yet I suggest you come through. .NOW.

I’ve been to Aldertos quite a few times now, and I’m well overdue to review them. Over the last few visits I’ve tried: $ 1 Carne asada tacos on Wednesdays. The tacos were good, but the meat slightly bland. Added some green salsa from the awesome salsa bar they have and I was good to go. Super nachos. Fresh tortilla chips loaded with carne asada, refried beans and enough cheese to stop you up for a week. Chicken Torta. A fresh sandwich roll, soft and fluffy, stuffed with zesty chicken lettuce and delicious guacamole. Carnitas nachos. More crispy fresh tortilla chips covered in chunks of shredded pork, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. Chili verde burrito. Chunks of pork in a spicy green sauce, rice and beans wrapped up tightly in a tortilla, served sliced in half and ready to set your mouth ablaze. Kids Chicken«fingers». More like chicken nuggets, served with crinkle cut fries and catsup. Chicken and fries both seem to be previously frozen and lack any type of seasoning. The counter service is friendly and the place is always clean. There are plenty more items on the menu to keep me coming back to try new items.

I would have to agree with Tabatha on her a-ok review. I ordered the nachos with chicken. I wasn’t very impressed, but there wasn’t anything wrong with them either. My little guy ordered a chicken burrito with beans and rice. He complained it was too spicy, but he is a weeny when it comes to spice. My friend ordered the same thing as my son. He devoured the whole thing. I like that they have a little«salad bar» so to speak of salsa. I tried all of them. I liked the green one. They don’t offer free refills. Refills are priced off of the size of your soda. I will say if I’m back in the area, I will give Alberto’s another chance and maybe order something more complex next time.

A-ok, not sure I would come back just because limited menu and«fast-food» atmosphere. No menu to hold, but a menu you look up at, above and behind the register, like a KFC. Oh wait, I do want to come back for their burritos. I got the shrimp fajita’s($ 9-$ 10) and a combo platter with a cheese enchilada and a ground beef taco($ 7-$ 8). I did get things to-go, which always affects quality. The food wasn’t bad, but its not sit-down restaurant quality either. The rice, plain rice, and the beans had shredded monterey jack I think, not even crumbled feta like normal. At least the shrimp were cleaned! That doesn’t happen a lot I’ve found in Mexican cuisine, they are tiny shrimp though. The bell peppers were super thin, which I did appreciate, but the overall dish was pretty spicy for me, so much so, that I couldn’t finish mine. My fiancé did enjoy his combo though and I think, that he was more happy with that combo here, than he was at Miguel’s where he had the same combo. The place was empty, and relatively clean, but just… old. They had both bottled and fountain drinks of both regular soda and Mexican soda’s. They also had a couple specials, hand written and taped up to the bottom of the menu. The prices are great and the salsa bar seemed like all in house made salsa’s. I was a fan of the red, mild salsa, one of the green ones was super spicy, and the tomato salsa, which was oddly lacking color, was pretty bland in my opinion. Okay, so I could see myself back here for«fast food» Mexican, just keep in mind that it isn’t sit down atmosphere or quality.
