Washington Area Girls Soccer League

The Academy United SC participated in the 2009 Rael Vodicka Memorial WAGS tournament. This was our first time at this tournament so we learned a lot. The Washington DC area is our nation’s capital, so the tourist attractions. combined with the congestion of the area makes scheduling and logistics critical to being successful here. If we had it to do over again, we probably would come in for the tournament, and then do DC sites afterwards. In addition, tournament locations are somewhat off the beaten path, so choose your hotel and ground transportation carefully, while working within the parameters of tournament approved hotels. This tournament provided the highest level of competition our club faced this Fall season, so teams must bring their «A» game. This is an aspirational tournament where seasoned and experienced teams will be successful. Fields and customer service were good, while parking and amenities were adequate. We would recommend this tournament and would like to participate again next season.
