I regret taking my family here for our traditional New Year’s Day Dinner. We live near by and always wanted to try this place but now every time I drive by my stomach turns. The food was not good at all, every single fried item we ordered seem to be fried in the same oil… French fries, fried fish and fried calamari all tested the same. The tuna steak taste was just wrong, like it had some sort of chemical on it(and I’ve had lot of tuna steaks before, I can even make a mean one ;-)) Other dishes seemed bland and not worth the money. The bust boy kept cleaning and wiping our table with a dirty cloth while we were eating, I asked him not to but he didn’t understand and just smiled(nothing against him not understanding) but its not polite to do that while people are eating or at least trying to eat, management should change that. Every single item on that table was unfinished except the drinks… the drinks were good. The waitress noticed that something was wrong and took one meal of the bill which was nice but still did not correct everything that was wrong with this place. Even the valet parking sucks, You DONOTSPEEDOVERTHESPEEDDUMP!!! they don’t care about your car. We all went home together to have desert, rushing because both my sister and brother stomachs turned and needed to throw up. Happy New Year!!! Never again.

Great Seafood place, probably the best around the Forest Hill/Rego Park area. Food was amazing and service was impeccable! Will definitely come again

This was my first visit here and I’m a bit sad that I was not feeling well enough to have a full experience. What I would say is this, their level of hospitality and service to their customers was commendable. Immediately upon walking in, the maître d’ appeared with a friendly smile and attended to us. Once seated, our waitress appeared and gave full attention to our table’s needs and questions and she was so understanding that I was a bit under the weather and continually checked in on me, Kudos for that. I did have the pleasure of eating the most delicious lobster meat served with avocados, mango salsa and watercress. An infusion of sweet, a little spice and a blast of delicious!!! I do plan on visiting again so that i can get the experience everyone raves about and judging from the dish I selected, I’m sure nothing falls short of fresh and scrumptious flavor

I would be the one to come to place that specializes in seafood and order a steak. I’m badass like that. Lol. No but seriously, this place is really nice. The waitress was friendly, answered the million questions we asked and not once gave an attitude. This review would’ve been 5 stars if the wait time wasn’t so long but it’s understandable being that we went on a Sunday. I definitely will go back.

As it was my first time here, I figured it would’ve been a bit more upscale and formal. I even called the restaurant and they relayed the attire is formal. My boyfriend made reservations for us at 8:30PM and we had to wait an additional 30 mins when we arrived on time! The food was not all that spectacular as I expected. My boyfriend ordered something with the grilled chicken and vegetables and it was very poor. The chicken was undercooked and we had to send it back. Not the best experience for the first time.

A bit disppointed. Seafood corn chowder is delicious with chunky bits of seafood. Whole Branzini is tender, cooked just right. The boiled seafood platter is just OK, no much taste. Baked clams are disappointing. The clam meat is very tiny, the size of a dime. Overall Very pricy.

The food was not as good as it used to be, but what I found the most disturbing is how poor the service has gotten. I had not been here in a while but when my mom asked me to take her out to dinner, I decided to bring her here. I’m so disappointed I did. when she brought my mom the cake, she came back 15 minutes later with the fork. As a New Yorker, I play hard, so I don’t mind spending the money, but London, speak to your staff. I’m giving you two stars because I still have some respect for the place, but if I’m spending 400 on dinner, why not make it a nice experience?

Oysters were good. Dinner was just OK. I had the swordfish with veggies. Swordfish was thin and the sauce on it was very commercial and tons of oregano. The veggies had zero flavor. Tasted frozen and then steamed. Lava cake was delicious. For a Mecca of seafood, the swordfish dish was so mediocre, it was like a joke. Like this is what London Lennies is all about? Nice ambiance. Could have been a tad cheaper for that meal.

For restaurant week, they increased price of their regular weekday lunch deal & removed some of the options they usually have on that menu… so, you paid more & got fewer options than any other week of the year! I made the trip to the restaurant on a cold day after seeing their meal deal on their website, which did NOT mention any changes because of restaurant week. When I pointed this out to our waitress, she first said there was nothing she could do… I was disappointed, but didn’t try to continue the conversation… she then said she’d bring over someone else — unfortunately that person repeated the same thing«we can’t help you», so not sure what the point of that was!

I have eaten at London Lennies over a dozen times in the last few years. I must say that this place doesn’t disappoint. It is the perfect«go to» place if you live in Queens or a definite Unilocal bookmark as a future must try for others who live further. The food and service are always consistently above average. My dirty martini was on point. So many items are a must try, I suggest you start with the New England clam chowder, sushi, a variety of oysters, crab dumplings… to many to list. Enjoy your dinner!

My husband and I had dinner on Sunday at LL and was it so enjoyable. Their seafood is always fresh. I ordered the branzino fish and this was my first time trying this fish. A whole fish baked and stuffed with rosemary, thyme, oregano and garlic. The fusion of flavor was just right. The skin was crispy on the outside yet flaky, tender and delicious at the bite. The fish was cooked to perfection! This a fairly large size portion so easy on the bread and appetizers. You may not have room for dessert. I can’t believe I ate the whole thing!

Made a reservation on open table for 9 pm for a party of 8, as we arrived at the restaurant valet, I received a text message stating the kitchen is now closed. I called the place a girl answered and said that we where 5 minutes late and our kitchen is closed. I have been going to this place for 20 years and have been happy. I will never go back or recommend this place. They could have at least called me at 8:30 and told me not to travel in the rain with kids for a half hour to get there and disappoint our whole family on a holiday week!

I have been here a few times in my life and always remembered the experience and food being great. My parents, my three year old and myself made an open table reservation for around 7PM on a Sunday night. Beautifully decorated for the holidays with lush green garland and poinsettias everywhere you look. Lots of wood, crisp white tablecloths… cozy atmosphere to say the least. My mother ordered a cocktail and the waitress told us they were out of the strawberry mixture for it… ok. So she decided on another one. The crab soup special was amazing– steamer appetizer was delicious as well as the baked clams. My mother goes to order second round and was told they are now out of the mixture needed for THAT beverage. Ok? At this point the waitress should have offered her glass of wine on the house or something. Now we had ordered my daughter the kids pasta(a painful $ 12.95) and we are waiting about an hour for our entrees and they couldn’t even bring out the pasta? We mentioned it and they said the food would be out in one minute that the«lobster takes longer to cook» on to 90 mins of waiting for our entrees we finally get them. My stuffed shrimp was nothing special– my dad enjoyed his steak and my mother said the seafood stuffing with her lobster was not even baked– just thrown on top. Yeah… that’s what took so long to cook right? I always thought of this place as a great treat, an expensive one but one worth it for special occasions. This last experience changed that for me. Maybe I will limit my next visit to appetizers at the bar if I ever return.

omg! they have stone crabs this holiday season!!! I went to LL for my moms birthday last week and they had stone crabs as a special. we ordered them, and they were sooo worth it. almost exact replica of Joe’s Stone Crabs in Miami– served chilled with a creamy mustard dipping sauce! will definitely try to make it back while the special is still on :)

This is one of the staples in seafood dining for this region of Queens. Everything on the menu is at least good. Some items are fantastic. Their chowders, the white clam sauce, the raw bar selections, quality and selection of lobsters are all the defining items you can always defer to, happily. I only recently ordered from their sushi menu. Reluctantly, I must admit, because I tend to believe that certain specialties should be saved for the specialists: steak at a steakhouse, sushi at a sushi bar, ceviche at a Peruvian restaurant and so forth. I couldn’t believe the quality, portions and the finesse with which it was prepared. Wow! This is the kind of restaurant that can satisfy anyone in your group with sea, land and veggie selections but if you’re into the fish and crustaceans you’re in for a treat!

I really liked this place. My boyfriend suggested we go for a late lunch after I got back from Florida. The food was fresh, well prepared and the service was excellent. The décor is nice and a relaxing atmosphere. We had fried calamari as an appetizer. It was crispy and seasoned well and a generous portion. They also served us coleslaw, which seemed like it was in house prepared. It was fresh and had good flavor. Hints of celery though. Just an fyi if you don’t like celery. The bread on the table was warm. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. I had the broiled lemon sole, with baked potato. Everything was cooked pefectly and it came out piping hot, the way I like. My boyfriend had lobster tail with filet mignon. He asked the waiter for the mashed sweet potatoes and it was past lunchtime but the waiter said he would check if they still had any left. They did, so he was pleased. His food was cooked very well also. The waiter checked on us often and I like that. I definitely would return.

This review is only for the BUCK-A-SHUCKOYSTERS. Both times I’ve had them, they were REALLYGOOD – A BITSALTY, A BITBRINY, and MEATY. I’m assuming they’re East Coast but the MENUDOESN’T INDICATE where. There are no other types of oysters on the«HH» menu. SERVICE here is where LL is LACKING. My dad and I sat down and WEREN’T GREETED by anyone(besides the busboy who brought us our bread) for at least 10 minutes. The waitresses seemed PRE-OCCUPIED with every other table around us besides ours. I had to flag down a bus boy to ask for a «HH» menu, to which he said he’ll grab the waitress but never did. When our waitress finally greeted us, she never introduced herself and started off by telling us the soup of the day. She said that customers who order only the buck-a-shuck deal are supposed to sit at the bar… uhm, PLEASETELLTHATTOTHEHOSTWHOSEATEDUS, not the customer. Regardless, from that point on, service went DOWNHILL. It felt like because we weren’t ordering from the regular menu, she didn’t feel as responsible for our table because she knew she wasn’t going to be receiving a good tip. Her overall DEMEANOR was NOTGENUINE and she seemed to FAVOR another Asian table seated near us and barely paid any attention to us. After our first round of oysters, she passed by our table at least twice and never changed our plates. I had to flag down another waiter for service. OURBUSBOYGAVEUSBETTERSERVICE than our waitress. I would have gladly given him a 15% tip. Because of this past experience, I won’t be coming back to LL.

London Lennie’s definitely fits into the category of classic queens dining. It has discernible charm and an air of nostalgia to take you back to in time where«soda pop» was 25 cents, and living in Queens or Brooklyn wasn’t seen as «trendy». The vibe is always warm and jovial as Lennie’s is the type of restaurant the locals frequent for birthdays, graduations and all those special little dinners. I’ve visited approximately 4 – 5 times over the years for the aforementioned occasional family gatherings. While the fish is consistently fresh, the food tends to be a little all over. Coleslaw — Always visits the table before you meal. Crunchy and not swimming in mayonnaise. Clams on the Half Shell — Fair sized and served on ice. I’d opt for the cherry stone or little neck to fill your clam sucking cravings. Spicy cocktail sauce on the side. Caesar Salad — Traditional tasting and not overly dressed with giant slices of aged Parmesan laid atop. Whenever it’s ordered at the table I can be seen making shifty eyes and stealing spare slices of cheese like a little ninja. Fillet of Sole — Two giant meaty pieces completely flavorless with the exception to the lemon I liberally squirted on it. I was tempted to ask for melted butter or capers or something to just give it a LITTLE flavor. Pass. Tuna Steak with Udon — Absolutely delicious dish with perfectly cooked bok choy adoring the plate. It’s a pleasantly nontraditional choice, for an American classic seafood restaurant at least! Curried Blue Claw Crab– Not sure of the exact name, however this was a special a few months ago. I toiled away for quite some time, it was tons of working getting all the meat out of it. I was the last one to finish eating out of 7 people! Still, it was worth it as the crabs were savory and the flavor of the mild coconut based curry was spot on. Fries — Often forgettable, soggy, and boring. Pick one of the other sides with your dish. Like a good aged wine, waiters all seem to have a favorable amount of experience under their belt. You won’t find any teenybopper TGI Friday’s material here. They’re personal, professional and usually prompt, however be warned service slows down on Fridays and Weekends. Every time I depart the restaurant, I always tap the glass of the crab tank and tell those big delicious decapods that they belong on my plate. Their day is coming, crab fest @ Lennies is only two months away…

This is a good place for special celebrations. I’m glad I made a reservation because this place fills up fast! Once we stepped inside, we felt like we were at a restaurant in midtown Manhattan. The décor and atmosphere is casual but fancy. Before you start your meal, they provide complimentary coleslaw. The coleslaw was good — not drenched in mayo and light enough to eat without feeling guilty. We started with Lennie’s salad which was very well tossed. I love that every piece of my salad had dressing and cheese and was well mixed. Then we moved onto the classic tower with a variety of raw oysters, raw clams, lobster, shrimp and mussels. The tables are tiny but good enough to house the tower. I didn’t like the mussels. Felt very rubbery and old. The raw clam was okay. The oysters were decent, however, there was a lot of shell grit on the oyster. The lobster was good. We also ordered the baked clams which I LOVED. The sauce that comes with it was delicious and garlicky/buttery. We dipped all our raw seafood in that — it was that good. Wish we kept the bread so we could have dipped it in that, too! We ordered the lobster roll and crab cakes and they were good. The lobster roll was filled to the max. The only thing I didn’t like as much was that the roll was super, extra buttery/oily. I prefer my bread to be less oily. It came with two sandwiches so this is a good sharing plate. The fries were good — large and slightly crispy. The crab cakes were delicious and truly filled with crab; very light on the breading. All I remember was that it was two crab cakes for $ 29. Very friendly service and good experience overall. This place will make a dent in your wallet but it’s worth it for special occasions. After all, seafood is quite expensive!

I’ve been here once a couple years ago for my hubby’s bday. It wasn’t that memorable, so I didn’t write a review. We came yesterday because we got the Amazon Deal for Crawfest. $ 10 for 1 lb of steamed crawfish, and beer or sangria. So we got that to start. Crawfish were ok. Not much of a flavor until u got to the bottom. The sangria was off their special Crawfest menu. It was a sparkling sangria with passionfruit. It was pretty delish. For entrees hubby got the ribeye, and I got the fried seafood platter. Steak was good. My seafood platter was solid as well. The fish was the best item. It was super fresh. Possibly the best fried fish I had in a long time. We were happy with the food. Truth be told, I think it’s a little overpriced for the location, and the mediocre service we got from this short young guy with glasses who acted like he was too good to be serving us. I think their menu is quite boring and limited. They should really update it a bit. Bottom line, if it wasn’t the Amazon Deal, we wouldn’t be there. If u feel like splurging on some seafood in this area, this is ur spot. Otherwise, I’m sure there are plenty of other restaurants you can spend this type of money on for something a lot more satisfying.
