Just saw the driver smoking in the truck on 101. That’s seems gross. Not super tempting to eat food that might be tainted with cigarette smoke.

One of my favorite food trucks that I’ve tried so far. As is the case with all of the food trucks that come to Stanford campus, it’s certainly expensive for the quantity you’re getting, but that fried chicken sandwich was one of the best items that I’ve had the privilege of eating. I still dream of it to this day. Their pesto pasta and garlic fries are also well worth trying!

Grub is good. Expensive, but good. Their fried chicken sandwich was excellent, but I’m a bigger fan of the spicy brussel sprouts. We’re looking at a $ 10 fried chicken sandwich off the regular menu and $ 7 spicy brussel sprouts under sides. You get about the same mass for both, so maybe splitting sides with a friend could make it worth it. But no tax on top, so yay. Fried chicken sandwhich was nice — the slaw and pickles provided good variety of flavor to the moist chicken. Cornflake breading is a hilarious concept that sounds healthier but makes no difference since it’s fried. Don’t worry though, it’s still excellent. The bun may look cheap, but the soft bite is worth it. Maybe I’m trying to be healthy, idk. But those brussel sprouts were REALLY good. Spicy with balsamic, cheese, hot sauce — a good complexity of flavors that leave me satisfied. Realistically, I might just get these on their own next time. Or maybe try to copy them and make it at home? Side options that aren’t fries or onion rings on food trucks are always appreciated. The guys were friendly but a little hard of hearing — can see how some other Unilocalers got their orders screwed up. But I think these guys are worth trying at least once — fast service and food is solid.

We have their food truck come to our office. Their food is awesome! Being a vegetarian, I order portobello sandwich. It is delicious. Plus, it’s so huge that I end up saving half for late afternoon!

What the?! There are four sandwiches on the menu — two beef burgers, one chicken sandwich, one portabello sandwich. Today I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich(listed on the menu to have sundried tomato aioli, swiss cheese, sweet paquillo peppers and tomatoes). Instead, I got a sandwich with a fried chicken patty, coleslaw, lots of mayo(no tomato aioli), and pickles. None of these things are in the original description, and there is no other chicken sandwich on the menu to be confused with. I had already walked back to my lab at Stanford, by the time I opened up the wrapping to find this sandwich, but I am fuming. Did they just screw me over for no reason? Is everyone at Stanford today getting non-advertised chicken sandwiches?

The portobello sandwich was excellent. I highly recommend it. Service with a smile as well!

Ok, I don’t mind paying for good food, but decided to try two burgers for my kids at Treasure Island. $ 12 for burger and fries(kids meal). Awful. Dry, dry, dry… don’t want to be mean, but don’t know how anyone could enjoy this. Two stars for decent, overly salted fries.

Great fries, just visited them at Treasure Island Flea today. Try the spicy bacon garlic fries and make sure to mix the bacon unless you want mouthfuls of salty fries at the end, or you can just offset it with a Mango Ginger Basil Lemonade.

Because fancy burgers are a thing nowadays, there is a lot of strong competition and a much higher bar than in days of yore. Super Duper is probably my benchmark for a good burger in the fast casual price range. I felt the burgers here were a bit sub-par comparatively, but still well above fast food standards. So I’m going to have to go with 3 stars, the«A-OK», because they were just ok for their price range. Angus Burger: The burger-to-bun ratio is seriously out of whack. About 1⁄3 of the bread is meat-free. It’s not that the burger is particularly small, just that there is way too much bread! The beef patty itself is pretty standard in terms of taste and texture. I really like the pepper mayo, it’s like they took somewhat spicy roasted peppers and mixed them into mayo. The grilled onions and peppers were nice, kinda like what you’d get on an Italian sausage sandwich, but way more were provided than necessary. Maybe they were trying to fill the empty bun space? It was also pretty juicy/messy; that isn’t always a bad thing but it’s annoying when the bottom bun is soaked halfway through your meal. Spicy Bacon Garlic Fries: I could have made a meal on these alone! Thin and crispy fries with loads of garlic, diced bacon, parmesan cheese and parsley. Also, there was a good squirt of the same roasted pepper sauce I believe they use in the mayo. More of a starring role than a sidekick.

All this time, I thought this truck made cupcakes or some other baked goods hahaha. Appeared before this truck on a nice warm Tuesday afternoon. Looked at the menu and knew exactly what I wanted. The griddled chicken sandwich. What sold me was the aioli. Love that stuff. Waited in line for about 15 minutes with 7 people… Placed my order. Man behind the counter was polite. Waited to the side for about another 15 minutes for my food. Stuff looks amazing. Got the fries first. Garlic fries MMMMM. And the sandwich was a nice hefty size. Everything smelled delicious. Upon biting into my sandwich, I noticed the bread was not toasted which was just sad but omg the flavors were delishhh! All the sauces gave the sandwich the wow factor. Will be coming back to try the burger! I heard it was yum.

New day, new truck. Today Whisk on Wheels had the longest line, so I had to see what what was so good at this place. After waiting couple minutes and looking over the menu, I decided on a grilled chicken sandwich and some garlic fries. After waiting couple minutes, I got my order and walked back to the office. When I sat down to eat I was quickly positively overwhelmed by the amount of food that I just got. The box was full of fries and the chicken sandwich was a really good size. Everything looked really good and I couldn’t wait to dive in. The garlic fries were okay at best. I little bit on the dry and oily side so I don’t think I will be getting those again. The sandwich on the other hand was really good! The fresh ingredients really came through and the flavor was pretty good. I don’t know why but I felt like the sandwich was missing some key ingredient. I can’t put my finger on what it was. But overall the sandwich was really good and I will probably come back to try some of the other choices!

Pesto pasta is a simple thing but it’s incredible. Using almonds rather than pine nuts, it’s milder in flavor. A great option when you want pasta with a lighter sauce. They also served enough food for two people. Even the garlic fries(a must try) have enough fries for two people. Lunch line had slow service. I had to stand there 20 minutes to get my order. Normally I don’t mind but it’s lunch time during the work week. We need to move a little faster. Not all of us are granted a one hour lunch break during the week.

Awesome sandwiches and fries, I’ll definitely be back. My coworker and I split the griddled chicken sandwich($ 8) which had sundried tomato aioli, roasted piquillo peppers, tomatoes, sweet basil, baby greens and swiss cheese. All the condiments and additions complemented each other perfectly. The bread and chicken were a little flatter than I expected(normally, it’s hard to eat most store-bought /restaurant sandwiches), but this was easy to eat. There was nothing about the sandwich I didn’t like. If you get a sandwich, the fries are 50 cents off. We got the garlic, lemon, parmesan fries for $ 3. They were thinner fries, which I like, crispy, and topped off with fresh parmesan and lemon zest. I loved them. Great flavor, texture, and not overly seasoned. The portion size was a bit big — we shared the fries and only ate half of them. I’d love if they reduced the price of the size, and reduced the quantity of fries too. All in all, a solid meal. Will be coming back for empanadas and the burger. If you’re looking for healthy alternatives for lunch, they can make the food protein style over baby greens which is great. The salads also looked great. Go with some friends /coworkers so you can split a sandwich and fries. I usually can eat a lot, and half a sandwich and half the fries were a perfect lunch.

Was hoping to try the empanadas they are so famous for but they didn’t have them today. Love the name of the food truck very catchy but I have to admit the first time I saw them I didn’t really know what type of food they would be serving. When I think of whisk, I think of baking so thought it was a dessert food truck. Imagine my surprise that it wasn’t. So here goes, I got the: Spicy Cheddar Burger ~ $ 8 Genius that it is on a French roll because the burger stayed intact the bread was not mushy. Juicy angus burger, though I didn’t really taste the spicy I tasted the smoked pepper mayo, roasted pepper-onion & tomatoes, the cheddar gave it a nice kick. Good burger! It was huge so I split it into two and I’m saving the half for dinner. Garlic Fries ~ $ 3.50 They gave it to me for $ 3 since I got the burger. Super! Golden crispy fries topped with garlic, parmesan, herbs and I saw them grating lemon to top it off, wow it gave the fries this zesty and refreshing taste. Loved that the fries were not too greasy. Alfajor Cookies ~ $ 3.50 for 2 These are South American shortbread sandwich cookies that are filled with caramel filling. I got one that was dipped in chocolate and the other dipped in white meringue. I was expecting it to be really sweet but it had just the right consistency and sweetness. What a treat! Overall loved everything I had for lunch. Whisk on Wheels is up there on my list of top Bay Area food trucks!

Maybe I shouldn’t be reviewing this place as it’s totally not my style of food. But, who puts bacon all over a salad? I guess they’re targeting fast food goers, and you can’t please everyone ;) The wait was ridiculous.

It’s been a while since I’ve been on the burger hunt, while working in the city of San Carlos –Whisk on Wheels appears. First thing running through my mind are burgers. Delicious/Negative thoughts of what my burger maybe. Will it be juicy? dry? flavorful? weak? average? not worthy? salty? I guess I’m going to take that chance, upon standing in line: Patrons ordering garlic fries and Empanadas? Now seeing Empanadas and tapas on the menu, made you think was this going to be a Latin Fusion burger? My Angus burger came on a sesame bun with smoked pepper mayo, roasted peppers, onions, sweet roma tomatoes and fresh greens with provolone cheese. When I unwrapped my burger-it had dripping sauce from the mixture. My first bite? left me at the expression of different. I wasn’t accustomed to eating a burger with green/red peppers inside, obviously it was not americanized. I found it to be A-ok. My co-worker ended up getting the Parmesan fries-Skinny fries in the house and shredded cheese on top. Nothing special, but not a soggy fry in sight.
