Dr McAdams repaired my completely separated right shoulder(A-C joint) from a bicycle crash. He did such a good job that when I tripped and fell on that side while still in the sling post surgery, I did not damage the repaired shoulder. My shoulder feels batter than it has in many, many years. I have even fallen a few times on that side while skiing with no problem.

I recently had an MRI that showed a tear in my shoulder. I made an appointment to see Dr. McAdams, he looked at the MRI, did some tests, and told me to schedule surgery. Thankfully, I got a second opinion. The second surgeon gave me a cortisone shot because she wasn’t convinced the tear was the cause of my symptoms and that I should wait to see how my shoulder reacts to the shot before rushing into surgery. Fast forward a couple of months, and my pain is 90% better and improving slowly over time. If I didn’t get a second opinion, I may have had an unnecessary surgery to fix something that wasn’t giving me any serious problems. Dr. McAdams needs to realize that for most people, surgery should be the last option, not the first.
