Ry the Pet Guy

Ry loves animals and they feel the same way about him. He was the first stranger I ever saw my once feral cat come out from under the bed for. She took to him right way, I was stunned. He or his associate have come in to feed my three cats for several years and I’m always happy. I think they like it when I go on vacation.

Ry watched our two dogs when my husband and I had to be away for over a week. It was fairly last minute and he had no problem accepting them. We brought them over prior to their stay so they could get acquainted with everything, and that took all of a few seconds. They both were so excited to be there and acted like themselves immediately (one playing, one lounging). Ry is so friendly and easy to talk to; the entire place has great energy. It felt like we were leaving our dogs with a trusted friend. His place feels like home and it’s clear that he puts the dogs first and treats all of them like they were his own.
When it came time to drop them off my husband said they didn’t even look back when he opened the door-​they just ran right over! While we were away Ry was kind enough to provide us with updates and pictures which always helps. Our little one really likes to snuggle on laps or under blankets or wherever he can and Ry had no problem accommodating that need (/​invasive habit). Our big dog is extremely social and loves to play so he had a blast getting to roam the large yard every day with all the other dogs.
We had previously planned to pick them up almost immediately after getting home from the airport, but before I even texted Ry to give him an ETA he offered to drop them off. This was HUGE-​it made such a positive difference in our day.
It really was like a puppy vacation for them and we highly recommend Ry to anyone looking for daycare or boarding (more like enjoying a mountain oasis than being boarded). Thank you Ry!

Ryland was very responsive, is very trustworthy and our cats loved him (Feisty fell in love with him the minute she met him). We would highly recommend him to take care of your animals.

Ry has been taking care of my 3.5yr old GSP since she was 8 weeks old. I was lucky enough to find him! Godiva goes with him 5 days a week for day care at his home. She also will spend the night with him when my husband and I are away. He’s very trust worthy, is good at updating me on Godiva’s activities, and will go above and beyond with favors I may ask of him (filling water/​food bowl). He also gives his clients the option for a bath (for a fee) — which I really appreciate… He’s easy going and responsive. My hubby and I and Godiva would probably consider him more of a friend/​part of our extended family than just a «dog walker». Can’t recommend more!!!

For most of my dog’s nine years I never trusted anyone to care for him except for friends and family. One year I got into a jam right before a trip and had to find someone to take care of my King Charles Cavalier. A friend recommended Ryland, and I’m so glad she did. Ryland is very professional. Before agreeing to care for my dog, Bucky, Ryland asked for vet records, a completed personality profile and required an onsite visit. He takes his business seriously. Ryland is now my go-​to person for dog care. He always sends me pictures of Bucky playing with the other dogs which warms my heart. I highly recommend Ryland’s pet sitting services.

Ry is the only place we feel comfortable leaving our pup! He treats them as his own, and they sleep around the house! They aren’t caged up in tiny kennels.
The dogs have a blast together running on his vast property. Our dog always comes back happy!

Ryland takes amazing care of my cat during work trips or vacations I have had in the past. My cat only warms up to a handful of people, making it difficult to leave her in someone’s care but Ry is a proven Pet Guy that she has warmed up to :) He’s my go to for all future pet sitting.

Ry is fantastic! When we need to board our babies (read: two dogs), he’s the only one we trust. His home is a vacation for them, plus he sends us adorable pictures and videos of them having a great time. He loves them like they’re his own! It’s also super convenient with his drop off and pick up service!

This is so long overdue! Ry is one of the best dog boarders we have ever worked with! I am from the Bay Area but live in Southern California and we were heading home for Christmas. We needed a great place for our year old Great Dane to sleep and Ry worked with us on a last minute type situation which was greatly appreciated! His home is catered to dogs of all sizes with indoor dog runs (if it’s raining), a huge outdoor yard with trees and tons of play area, dog beds EVERYWHERE and a big truck to drop your pet off in the morning or pick him up at night time! He sends you pictures all day long of the new friends your pet is making and the hikes that they go on! It really puts your mind at ease!
If you ever need someone to watch your dog Ry is honestly your best choice! I would send Harlow our Great Dane to him every time we bring her home with us!

Ry is the absolute best petsitter around! All my pets luv him, especially my dog who goes to his doggie daycare every friday! My dog adores Ry :)

Ryland is awesome and we feel so lucky to have found him! Our French Bulldog CeCe does doggie daycare with Ryland twice a week, and she has boarded with him as well. Ryland’s service includes pick up and drop off, and CeCe is always happy and exhausted when she returns home in the afternoons.
Ryland clearly has a genuine love for dogs. He is also one of the friendliest, kindest, and coolest people we have met since relocating to Palo Alto last year. My (human) kids love him too!
I cannot recommend Ryland highly enough. We have deeply appreciated his personal, genuine, loving care of our Frenchie!

Ryland is the man!!! He’s such a sweetheart and has such a great space for the dogs! All the dogs here are obviously happy. No pets are in crates here… just roaming around outside and inside the house. I highly recommend Ry the Pet Guy!

Ry’s Great.
He took care of my Cat a few weeks ago. And this is no ordinary cat. There are no ordinary cats… but he handled her quite well… I’ve even noticed a positive change in personality since I’ve been back. If you are leaving town or need general service, I’d recommend. He’s very professional.

Ryland is the best. He’s been taking care of our pooches for years and we couldn’t imagine trusting them with anyone else.

Ryland was my first and only pet sitter ever. My cat is generally timid but Ryland really went above and beyond to make her comfortable. She’s learned to be a lot more social around other humans and I say it’s thanks to him. At first I felt nervous about leaving her at the mercy of strangers but Ryland is an incredible guy and his love towards animals amazed me. Truly the best guy to watch your pets!

Ryland loves dogs and is the best in his class in terms of personalized and loving doggy day care! I have not only known him for 15 years as a friend but have also gotten to know him as one of my dog Winston’s favorite people of all time. I recommend him to anyone who spoils their dog rotten and wants a loving caretaker that will do the same :)

I’ve known Ryland personally for many years, he is genuinely an honest and outgoing person, someone very easy to get along with. Finding a sitter for your pet is not a job you can fill in with just anyone. He is a very likable person, passionate about what he does, very knowledgable with animals and their specific needs and definitely someone I would trust with my pet knowing that they’ll be safe and taken care of.

We love Ryland. It’s hard to find someone that you can trust with your family, and we trust Ryland 100%. He’s been watching our cats here and there for the past year and half. He’s watched our two cats and made house visits over a dozen times when we’ve had to travel for a day up to two weeks. I love that we get emails and texts with photos of our babies! He’s great about also doing some extras if we need it — gets the mail, takes the garbage bins in, etc. Highly recommend!

Ryland is your guy in all pet needs from walking your dog to overnight stays. He is friendly and treated mine as it was his own. I highly recommend his service.

I’ve had experiences with both Ry and Anthony, and both are INCREDIBLE.
Some backdrop. I have two special needs dogs. One was rescued from an abusive situation and has serious trust issues. The other was rescued from a dog fighter and can be VERY volatile around other dogs, given the violence and abuse she faced when she was younger. I’ve had bad experiences with dog walkers in the past, who are unable to handle the girls. And so always have to screen walkers very carefully before choosing one. Even then, I’m usually very anxious.
But Ry and Anthony earned my trust completely. They are both incredible dog people who love being around the girls. They are diligent about responding to communication, and they go out of their way to make the experience pleasant and comfortable for everyone.
Anthony also is just a super good dude. For example, there were many times I cancelled last minute, or had to request a walk last minute. He was almost always more than welcome to help, and many times tried to refuse my attempts to pay him late/​weekend fees!
The highest recommendation you can give to a dog walker is that you trust them with your girls. I trust Ry and Anthony completely.
