Thankfully the only option in the Pacific Shores area is a good one. Pacific Shores Café is fine cafeteria-style dining. Chose from the numerous food stations; personal pizzas, burger grill, salad bar, sandwich bar, exhibition cooking, featured hot meal, sushi bar and more. The main meals change daily and are usually delicious and filling. Plus there are countless vegetarian options. The café is only open M-F, but a delicious option for breakfast or lunch. Breakfast and the always-changing lunch entrée offerings are a value. Don’t go late because the café closes soon after 1pm. Large open inside dining room and some outside tables. Plus the café servers will gladly place your meal in a to-go container.

My company gives me discounted lunch here, they try to make everything on the healthier side. So much variety. There’s nothing close in the area so this is a nice place to hang out and grab a bite on a 30min lunch. Very clean place. Beware during lunch hours! Wish they’d close a bit later.

Full disclosure — I work in the building, the company I work for pays for my lunch, and there aren’t any other options that are closer that a 10 – 15 minute drive away… The food here is decent, if a bit on the pricey side. Most of the staff is friendly and will customize your order to exactly what you want to eat. There is a daily selection of pizza, made-to-order salads, hot entrees, made-to-order grill items, a salad bar and a sandwich bar. In fact, the selection is pretty amazing when you look at the small size of the facility. The only real problems I have with the café is the flow through the space and the speed of some of the service. It isn’t at all obvious where the lines are or how you are supposed to order your breakfast or grill items. The menu items for the day don’t seem to be posted in any single location other than on their web site. While some of the staff is helpful, the other don’t seem interested in helping anyone find their way around. You may find yourself making a lap or two around the area to order your entrée or make a salad or sandwich and get something to drink. Since most items are made to order you may have a wait for some things. The grill doesn’t have any sense of urgency and watching someone hand-roll four dolmas is not my idea of a good time(even though they were very good). While I don’t pay for my meal, the prices do seem a bit on the high side. The entrees typically run $ 8-$ 10 each, and the salad bar is $ 0.45/oz. While it is possible, you would have to work to get lunch for much under $ 10. However, if you work in any of the buildings at Pacific Shores you are something of a captive audience and the food is mostly very good to excellent. Most items are served in compostable to go containers with compostable cutlery so be prepared to eat off of cardboard. If you order something wet to go, be careful as the container may spontaneously self-compost before you get very far with your food.

It’s likely I work around here, with my check-ins over exceeding any establishment in the whole of the peninsula. This café is above standard to your usual café food. They do put in effort to make sure meals are balanced, nutritious and interesting. Lately it’s gone through a bit of a dry spell with kabobs and Mediterranean every other day although I have to say it’s really good. Prices are fair, although a bit on the higher side for everyday things like fruit, and yogurt, and per ounce in the salad bar. Fresh variety, and really great options in the salad bar. Staff is really friendly and always saying hello. Lines get crazy at noon, and the wait can be unbearable so come early!(11:30 is the best time). They also do incredible catering here. I have used them for my company for so many occasions and they are superb. You get incredible service, and generous portions of food. They set up, pick up and clean up. Awesome staff!

This place is kind of a rip off. The food is just OK, and I understand that it’s cafeteria style so there’s some compromises to quality that have to be made to feed the masses. But most of the time everything tastes the same, bland, and at times I don’t even know what flavor my supposedly chicken dish tastes like. If this food was 2 dollars cheaper, I wouldn’t say much. But I end up spending 10 dollars minimum for just a meal. For that money better to just drive in to the city. But today, I got a veggie omelette. The sign said 4 dollars and some change w/side… they didn’t give me my receipt and I didn’t think I needed to check, but I noticed my bank statement on my app, and final charge was just shy of 8 dollars… What sort of fees and BS tax are they charging? Whatever, I give up on this place. Unless I’m desperate, at which point I’ll build my own sandwich. but god forbid my modest egg-salad sandwich comes out 9 dollars… again…

Food was decent. Nothing to write home about. I ordered a Salmon burger. Wasn’t great, but wasn’t bad either. What killed it for me was the service. I had placed an order over their app at 1030 am for an 1130 am pickup(when they open for lunch). The app notified me, both through push notification and email, that my sandwich should be ready at 1131 am, and that I would receive a notification when it actually was ready. Works for me. 1145 am hits, and no notice that my sandwich was ready. I get a little concerned, because I know the lunch rush is coming up, so I head down from our offices. I check in with the grill, and ask them if my sandwich was ready. I point out the notification email as evidence, just so that they know I’m not trying to cut the line(about two people deep). Grill guys says he can’t help me because he doesn’t have an order for me. Its kinda like, dude, I have the order right here on my phone. If you could just look it up, you’ll see that I placed it over an hour ago for pickup at 1130. Doesn’t look, says I need to check with someone else. I wander around until I find someone else. He takes a look this time, but tells me if its ready, it would be on the table for pickups. Nothing there, and he can’t help me anymore. I ask him if there’s anything he can do, and he shrugs his shoulders. I’m fuming at this point and quickly realize no one’s going to help me. I go back upstairs and start snacking on some candy I had, thinking it was a lost cause. After 30 minutes, I make my way back down. I’m thinking I’m just going to call the grill guys out on it and have it be at that. Fortunately, I see the Asst Manager(noted on his name badge). I tell him my problem, he checks out their online ordering system. Sure enough, its there. He has the grill guys make it for me right away(told him I still wanted it). The original guy who I talked to is there, and he gives me a sheepish look and says there’s nothing he can do if he don’t have an order. Ummm no. There’s a lot you can do. You can check your system after I showed you my emailed receipt WITH the time it said it would be ready. It was a 3 star sandwich and I’m giving –3 stars for poor service; should be 0 stars overall. Was it a one off? Possible. Other reviewers have noted good service. However, the guys made superficial gestures to help me and were willing to let me leave without anything. How did they think this was going to end? I showed them the receipt! Lesson learned. DON“T ORDERVIATHEAPP. Should’ve realized this when everyone else is waiting in line instead of ordering via the app.

Had a very nice lunch at PSC. Went to PSC today, my first visit. Parking a bit difficult, but I’ve seen worse. Had the Kobe hot dog with house-made BBQ potato chips. Both were quite good.(Hot dog is grilled, and I prefer steamed … just sayin’ :) You take a slip and design your own hamburger(or hot dog), and then hand the slip to the chef … provides a lot of choices. A friend had a hamburger and said it was very good. PSC has fountain drinks(Coke/DrPepper/others), as well as various other drink choices. There was a nice sandwich bar, and a number of grilled/cooked daily specials. The menu’s online at …click on «menu» on the left. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a cafeteria atmosphere … but an upscale one!

Food is always fresh if a bit pricey. Salad and sandwich bars offer a good variety. They always have a good selection of salsas and sauces. Ghost chili and Habanero salsas are sometimes hot and other times incredibly hot. Personal pizza is a good value for the size of the pizza.

Excellent hidden away casual cafeteria(no external signs) with a gigantic seating area. Open for breakfast and lunch only. Most of the clientele work in the surrounding Pacific Shores office complex. Healthy California cuisine dishes that change daily. Probably has the best salad bar you’ll ever find! Run by Guckenheimer catering.

I really like the options and service! All the employees are so kind and very attentive! There are always so many options to choose from there is a menu online for the week so you can check it out! Plus they are super healthy… cage free eggs… grass fed beef! wow! They also have veggie options everyday! breakfast starts at 730… there is a chef who will make most breakfast sandwiches/omelets and the special of the day. There are simple veggies such as spinach mushrooms tomatoes onions then you have breakfast meats like bacon or turkey sausage then breakfast potatoes and of course eggs! The chef will make anything you want with those ingredients… Lunch has a lot of options. There is the grill section where you have burgers. salmon burger chicken, turkey, and more… there is a pizza station with different personal sized pizzas! then there are two main course options there are always different ethnic foods everyday! I am surprised they even had loco mocos or tapsilog or chicken curry, even Phở or ramen! There is also a sushi station with nigiri or basic ca roll or tuna then they have the special sushi roll of the day! There is a salad bar with a lot of options and a sandwich bar!!! everything including their sauces are made in house! great café to have at the work place! oh yeah starbucks machine too! a fancy one and a simple coffee one! check it out!

Looks good on the outside, but upon digestion you realize it’s just a farce. The pizza is barely edible, it tastes like pizza you would get at costco but then added with fresh toppings to make it seem expensive. The veggie curry burger is well subpar. Friends constantly complain that the chicken is undercooked, under seasoned. I paid 6 $ for 2 slices of bread, a lettuce leaf, slice of cheese and a slice of onion, and the lettuce tasted bitter. The amount of times we end up throwing half the food. The only reason we keep going is because that is the only restaurant that is easily accessible.

Pacific Shores Café is an ideal spot to pick up something taste during work hours. Conveniently located across from my workplace building, it saves me time and gas rather than going to downtown Redwood City for lunch. The menu changes weekly and is easily accessible online, so you can know ahead of time what is being offered! Only thing is the café closes at 2pm! What’s up with that?!

I’ve only been working in this complex for three weeks now, so I’m sure I’ll get tired of this place eventually, but so far it’s been fantastic. Lots of salad options, you can make your own sandwich, have a custom made burger cooked up and served on the spot, fresh sushi, and an ever changing menu of asian and pasta inspired dishes. What’s not to like? They also custom make breakfasts for you in the morning, and have a breakfast special too. Free spa water all day. No idea what spa water is but my coworkers all seem to like it, so there’s that. They’re also really big on healthy eating and being environmentally conscious, so they have healthy eating guides all over the place and nearly everything is compostable. –1 star because they charge $ 6.50 for two scrambled eggs with cheese and bacon, which is freaking nuts.

This place is great for a quick bite to eat during work hours. The salad bar is always changing, having a diverse selection of fairly high foods. The people who work there are friendly and always remember your name. Great place for food while working at Pacific Shores.

Yes, I am finally at a workplace with a cafeteria which means only one thing… another Unilocal opp! It’s kind of chaotic here at noon but you’ll soon get used to it. There are three stations: two which have changing dishes and the other which has hamburgers. The first time I ate here, I had a Chile Verde pork dish which was so tasty! I asked for the spicy sauce and it was actually really spicy. The second time, I had Tuna Pomodoro Pasta which was the weirdest combination I’ve ever had. They used chunks of tuna, not canned. If you’re not feeling like eating that much, you can make your own salad or sandwich. If you go for this option, they’ll just weigh it. I can see why this cafeteria is so packed. It’s because this business complex is located so far off that there really is no other option! Big plus for using biodegradable containers, utensils, and napkins.

I don’t work nearby, but I know someone that does and so I ventured here for lunch. I used the sandwich bar and they had a good selection of organic and vegetarian stuff. Not that I’m really into it, but having grilled vegetables to put on a sandwich that doesn’t look like garbage is always an immediate plus. Although it is cafeteria style, the location is very clean. They have a salad bar and burger bar as well. I made a roast beef sandwich on rye with mustard, swiss, and grilled egg plant. It was really big when I was done and filled me up. For my drink I had their tamarind and lemonade. It wasn’t tart like most other lemonades I’ve had. I’m a fan. The sandwiches are charged per weight, and when I left with the person I was with our total was close to about 17.00. So about $ 8.50 per person for lunch isn’t bad. If I come back to visit again i would not mind coming back here at all.

When the private cafeteria in my building in the same complex closed, I was forced to come here. The food is serviceable company cafeteria food. My only complaint is the fact that one is generally restricted to about four or five lunch options plus the«build your own» salad/sandwich bar. I’d like a little freedom to, for example, order a tuna melt(which I know they have the ingredients for) on a day it’s not the special. Breakfast selection is even more limited.

This is not be confused with the other open to the public cafeteria in this complex. This is the BIG one, the little one is in the Computer Associates building(2000) across the amphitheater. Considering it’s an on campus cafeteria, it’s pretty good. Working way out here in the boonies makes it difficult to go far for lunch so having this is a must and it helps that it’s relatively cheap. Make your own salads can get spendy because it’s based on weight but they’re lunch plates are $ 5.95/$ 6.95/$ 7.95 depending on what it is. I especially like their burgers and pizzas, really fresh and tasty. The people at the stations are really nice and will always custom make your lunch. You want the Asian chicken salad with no almonds? You got it. You want dressing on the side? No onions? You got it. One odd thing is that in the clean up area where you dump your trash and deposit your tray is always *really* dark, perhaps they are saving on power?
