A friend of mine has been raving about how wonderful the pastries are at the Sofitel. I tried out 1 chocolate croissant at $ 2.75 and 1 macaroon at $ 1.50. The macaroon wasn’t that good. Very sad, for a French hotel to not master something that is French. The chocolate croissant was really good, but for the price it was on the small side. I think I’m not going to go out of my way to try out Le Market.

A pleasant surprise inside the Sofitel. They don’t advertise that they have this little gem in their establishment(probably because they want you to buy their expensive breakfast). They have very reasonably priced muffins and croissants($ 2 – 3). Since it’s a French hotel chain of course their chocolate croissants would be pretty good. Service was also very pleasant. The only thing I didn’t like was that when you sign for things, they try to be classy and pull out this very tired leather book for you to sign on. The problem is with a ball point pen, you’re almost guaranteed to rip through the receipt. Then the leather book now has more pen marks on it.
