Bad customer service tried ordering over the phone and lady was rude. She said it would be 30 to 40 minutes for food to be ready and when I told her to cancel the order she said it would be 10 minutes? I still said no and she got mar and hang up on me.

Yuck– not great Chinese food. Be aware that the fried crab wontons have yellow curry in them, which was not noted in the menu. Gross is all I can say– hot and sour soup was pretty terrible too

1 star is being nice if i could pick 0 stars i would. Horrible experience with a phone order we tried to place with the owner at that. Was hung up on several times, after asking a co-worker who speaks the language to order for us, we were still hung up on. after canceling an order we faxed over for delivery that she stated was«NEVERRECEIVED» because of the rudeness over the phone. They still attempted to deliver $ 50 worth of food to our office 2 hours later! WILLNEVERORDERFROMHEREAGAIN!!! Owner or not does not give you the right to talk to people in a rude manner and hang up on paying customers!!!

I really liked my experience with Golden Swallow today! We are a small startup that does weekly group orders. I chose Golden Swallow this time and I was not disappointed! Overall, they offered a great presentation for their catering. Well organized. The food was great! I really miss Su Hong already, but was really happy to find another Chinese Chicken Salad to love :)! My colleagues enjoyed their meals as well. So overall, great presentation and high quality catering. Great flavors and well cooked meals!

This place is horrible… I ordered take out. Chicken fried rice, Filet black bean sauce, and chicken and brocoli. First of all, the sauces is just too much. So much cornstarch and sauce and it’s very bland. The rice was overcooked and sticky/mushy, they give way too much rice and too little real meat/vegetables(lots of sauce though). The brocolli was not fresh and wasn’t cleaned well, you can tell… Price was expensive for what it was and the delivery guy gave me a bag that had sauce all spilled into the bag and then asked for tips. When I said I didn’t have cash(I really didn’t) he was mad. I will NEVER order from here again.

I usually order from here for delivery only, so I am not sure how it is inside the restaurant. I have a tendency of ordering the same things at every place I try(you know, the search for the best and all that jazz). The last time I ordered food here I got: — Honey Walnut Prawns(Cashews instead of walnuts. I’m allergic) — Vegetable Chow Mein — Sweet and Sour Chicken Everything was really good :) The Prawns were a little heavy on the batter and very light on the sauce, but all in all it was still a pretty decent dish. Will order from here again!

Horrible customer service the hostess doesn’t have a concept of what being rude is! You can hear her talk to a customer on the phone rudely so just FYI its the same in person! Good sucks you might as well get chinese at Safeway its the same quality and you don’t have to deal with the chinese hospitality that their employees delivers very well!

As a pure Chinese, I have to say this place make great beef stew noodles. Although the so-called«homemade» noodles tastes like machine-made, the beef stew and soup of the noodles are awesome. Besides, Mapo Tofu is quite good but fried woton is a nightmare.

I came here with my family and had a feast that was cheap and delicious. The beef noodle soup was tasty, and I liked the dried fried chicken wings that were flavorful and fried just right. we also had salt and pepper fried shrimp, and that was money. A good find in redwood city, oh and they deliver to and are on Seamless.

I was so excited to find a Chinese place in the area that A) delivered for less than a million dollar minimum, and B) served fried crab-cheese wontons. Yes, I know those are hardly authentic, but all Asian places in Chicago(where I’m from) serve them and I’m nostalgic for crab rangoon, okay? I ordered the aforementioned crab-cheese wonton things are they were okay. They had curry or something similar in the mix, too, which was unexpected but not bad. Just not what I was hoping for… the search continues. I also ordered chicken fried rice and chicken chow mein(with the homemade noodles for $ 1 extra). Both are very good. I wish they were both a little saltier, but that’s easy enough to fix on my end. The chicken was nice, big, white meat pieces. No mystery meat. Also, the portions are MASSIVE. Seriously, at least 2 big, satisfying meals from both the rice and the noodles. I ordered delivery directly through their website(not using GrubHub or any other food delivery service) and it was amazingly fast. Seriously– I think I got my food in less than 25 minutes. Will definitely order again when I’m too lazy to leave the house, and I’m out of cereal and frozen Trader Joe’s.

I am glad to learn that there is another option for Chinese food in burgeoning Redwood City. Their handcut noodles are very slim, like soba, which was disappointing because I always make a beeline for handcut noodles, which should really be thick. There is a lot of oil in the food, which is unfortunate, because it drowns out the subtle flavors and textures of the food. I think their food is decent, middle-of-the-road/average Chinese food, but the fact that they exist at all rounds out the Redwood City Chinese food universe a bit. At the very least, they’re open until nine, and they deliver. Their delivery minimum is only $ 20, which is a rare thing nearby. Chef Peking’s is $ 50, for example. There are many delicious Chinese restaurants nearby, with more extensive menus, in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and San Mateo, but I’m hopeful that Golden Swallow comes into its own and catches its stride.

Being Asian American I’ve developed a liking to bolder flavors. Most def try the General’s Chicken and Special Beef Noodle Soup. Gotta come back again someday. Pretty affordable too.

2ish, cheap, big portions. Cliché Americanized Cantonese food. I can go to any state in the US and the Chinese food will be exactly like this. It is edible, but nothing stands out as unique or gotta have. One of those you don’t see many Chinese eating there type of places. Heavy duty gwai lo centered cuisine.

I’m being nice with 3 stars since they are still new. They replaced Panda Dumpling, which was hellllla good. What’s there now is a typical Chinese restaurant with a gigantic menu and no specialties that really stand out. I ordered potstickers and the salt & pepper pork chop. The potstickers were probably the most flavorless i’ve ever eaten; they were pretty full of pork but they just had zero flavor. I couldn’t get over it. The salt & pepper pork was not fried long enough, the batter was still lightly tan colored and half the pieces were fried fat. I’d be lying if I said I’d go again, but maybe they’ll get the kinks out soon. Also they don’t accept CC right now because their CC machine isn’t up yet.

Seriously the worst!!! I will never order from this place ever again. I received the flyer at my door and thought I would give it a try. Such a mistake! I called in an order and the woman tood me it would be 40 minutes. I waited an hour before calling the restaurant to see where my food was, I’ve worked in the service industry so I understand things sometimes happen. The woman proceeded to tell me that my food was still at the restaurant, and she didn’t know when the delivery driver would be there, and asked me to come pick it up. If I wanted to pick it up I wouldn’t have ordered delivery, and on top of that was someone going to ever tell me. I seriously think if I didn’t call it would have just sat there. The woman gave me absolutely no answer to when my food would arrive. It finally showed up 40 minutes after I called, and I had to go wave down the driver in the middle of the street! As for the food… just as bad as the horrific service, everything was bland, greasy, and somehow dry at the same time. They offered no apologies for my terrible terrible service, it was the most infuriating experience I have ever had with a restaurant. Save yourself the headache of this poorly run place.

I also tried this restaurant as a result of the to-go/delivery menu that was left on my doorstep… an unlikely scenario for me. I have mostly been boycotting Chinese-American fare in favor of Dim Sum or FOB Chinese restaurants. But… I was home, had a little too much to drink to consider driving for food… and could have used some leftovers for the next day. So I’ve been here twice now, once for the delivery mentioned above, and once for to-go pickup. Here’s what I have eaten: Salt and Pepper Fish Fillets: This is more reminiscent of a FOB restaurant. This was part of my delivery, so I didn’t expect the fried crispiness to hold up inside the box. It arrived with a little crisp left to it, nice batter, and once i put it in the broiler for a moment or two, it crisped back up nicely, and was delicious! I loved all of the onion in the mix, the batter was light, and the flavor was spot on. Mu Shu Pork: I ordered this, because I’ve never met a Mu Shu Pork I didn’t like. I’ve had this twice now, very very good both times, but the pancakes, which I usually don’t eat more than one of, seemed to be of the Mexican variety… aka flour tortilla. Combo wonton soup: Very good soup chock full of nice wontons and chunks of different meats and veggies. All in all, everything I’ve had here has been great, prices reasonable, and the option for delivery is very good. I arrived early for pickup, and stood and watched the chef cook the food. Its quite remarkable that stores sell woks to use at home; once you see the actual amount of flame that these guys use under the wok, you will realize that there’s no reason to ever purchase or gift one to somebody for home usage. Looks like a jet engine pointed up! Looking forward to the next time!

We came here for the old place that specialized in dumplings. The décor is the same inside but the food is very different. The menu is a typical American Chinese menu. Far too many choices and too many options of sweet and sour this and orange or lemon that. We tried the salt and pepper fish fillet, the pot stickers and the Singapore style noodles. The noodles were too salty, the fish was decent(the breading fairly light) and the pot stickers were like the Costco pre-made type. The worst part was the owner practically shouting everything he would say and over intrusive into what was supposed to be a quiet, simple dinner. I don’t think we will ever be back. So much for first impressions! Oh, no chopsticks… That should speak on its own.
