Academy Locksmith

Quick, efficient, and much cheaper than other off-​hours locksmiths. For around $ 100, we had our bedroom door opened, plus a new set of keys made at 6:30pm on a Friday evening. The locksmith was an expert picklock. He opened the door in around 15 seconds. We’ve had another locksmith out here for the same door, and he took 20 min.
When I called, the operator said the locksmith would arrive within the hour. He arrived in 30 min, so no issues there.
I think the price quoted over the phone was cheaper than the price actually charged, so minus one star. This seems pretty common practice, though, for locksmiths unfortunately.
Overall, I was pleased with the service, but I am glad to have an extra set of keys now so that I won’t have to call Academy Locksmith (or any other locksmith) again! :) :)

Locked myself out of my apartment on a Saturday at 11am with smartphone in hand. I had googled «locksmith burlingame» and I tried the first hit on google (A-​1Locksmith) and they quoted $ 150 to open my door! I thought that was an outrageous price to pay. So naturally I called the second business listed which was Academy Locksmith.
I was pleasantly greeted by Academy Locksmith and when I asked for a price I was quoted $ 65. Then I was asked if there was a second lock or door and I told them there were two doors (outside security door) needing to be unlocked so then I was quoted $ 87 (for extra door or lock). I was told they could come in 45 mins so I waited. 45 mins came and went and I get a call that the person who was on their way to help me blew a tire. In the meantime, some of my neighbors came home and opened the security door for me so when Academy Locksmith asked if I can wait another 45 mins I also told them I only needed one door opened and I would continue to wait.
By the time the locksmith came he took 2 mins to unlock my apartment door and then he said the price was $ 79. I naturally thought it was the $ 65 and he said no, that his boss told him it would be $ 79 for just the one door. I was at the mercy of this guy so I paid the $ 79 but I’m kind of upset the prices are just random!
The lock was opened with no problems, the guy who came to do the job was professional, did a great, fast job and he didn’t ruin my lock.
I’m rating 3 stars because having to wait so long and having iffy prices makes me a little hesitant to use them in the future, yet they were still cheaper to use than the first company I called and they did get the job done.
