We had the ham Benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes and avocado toast. The ham benedict was amazing. Thick slices of ham, a perfectly cooked egg and the sauce was creamy, flavorful and delicious. I haven’t had a ton of benedicts but this is definitely my favorite. It was not at all lemony though, for those who like that. The lemon ricotta pancakes, however, were ver lemony and wonderfully fluffy. They were smooth and crisp on the outside, but they didn’t provide enough syrup for my sweet tooth: p. I’ve never had avocado on toast but this was really good. It was so flavorful but not too salty. I came with pickled vegetables on top which I thought I would hate but it was really delicious. We sat outside and the waitress was polite and attentive. My only critique is that the mimosas were mostly juice.

My girlfriends and I were super excited for our Sunday brunch and to try Sophie’s for the first time. When we first got there about 12PM, our server said it would only take about 20 mins for our table, which was no problem. The hostess took my number and informed me that she would call me once our table was ready. So we went next door to grab a Sunday afternoon drink, and after 30 mins realized that we still never received a call. I went to the hostess and asked about our table and noticed that other guests that were waiting after us were seated before us. Fine. understandable however 4 other girls walked in and were seated immediately when we waited almost an hour for our table. If our table wasn’t going to be ready for an hour, just be honest and please don’t try to lie to your customers.

If you never been to Sophie’s Place it is one of the best restaurant in all of LA personally I think it’s tops. The restaurant is run exquisitely and the food is to die for fresh and clean Gastropub Redondo Beach California please tell them when you go in asking for Ali and let them know that doesn’t Pemberton Center everything on the menu is great from breakfast through dinner and the wine and the craft beers are excellent

This is one of those restaurants that I’ve been coming to literally since the first weekend that they were open — on and off. Sometimes the food and the crowds become uninviting. Overall the staff is nice and efficient and the restaurant has a good atmosphere. It can get very-very crowded, however. So, keep that in mind. I have watched this restaurant as it has evolved and it has gone through a few different stages. More recently they have begun to serve some of their food on those small wooden cutting boards that have become popular with some local restaurants. Though this is okay… What I have found is that they do not keep these cutting boards new. So sometimes, like for our food today, they serve the meal on a cutting board that looks very-very used with numerous knife marks on it. It just makes the presentation of the food appear unclean and unappetizing. So, that’s the story at least for the moment. This is a very popular restaurant so, if you are in the area and you feel like it, check it out for yourself.

Consistently good food, great company(staff), and great service. Jessica at the bar was great. Chef Albert is a master at his culinary skills! Try the fish!

My date and I came here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The hostess sat us and then promptly said it would be 15 minutes before our waitress would be to our table. Ok fine, weird but what can a customer do? Anyway we got our order, fried pickles(spears not chips), I got a great Kale Caesar salad which I think was missing some ingredients. My date got a cobb salad with grilled chicken and it was a salt bomb. Had to have the kitchen re-do the chicken because of the saltiness. $ 45 for two meals and app. Overall would come back, it seems they had an off day

I did not have a great experience here when my friend and I went for dinner on a Wednesday night. We asked the waitress some questions about a couple different things on the menu and got mostly shrugs as answers. Even when we asked if she liked certain things, she said they were alright but with almost no conviction. Most of the food was unmemorable and bland except for the mashed potatoes which may as well have been butter with potato sprinkled in. It was so thick with butter, I don’t know how anyone could make it through the dish. I had high hopes for this place but it fell rather short.

As much as I used to love coming here, things have changed and not for the better. Steadily declining in food variety, a favorite cheese plate is gone and precious few vegetarian options(aside from a salad) are available. My last three visits have been less than satisfactory, and I really can’t see myself returning. Where I used to enthusiastically recommend this place and bring friends, I’m afraid I no longer can.

I came here for Sunday Funday brunch. The veggie eggs benedict is really good. The breakfast potatoes were ehh. The Bloody Mary was decent. Yes, there was a bug in the water the dude brought us.

COCKROACHALERT! I stopped in with a friend friday night for some wine and apps… we saw 2 cockroaches a few minutes after sitting down at our table, crawling right along the table side. We left immediately of course & staff did not seem surprised or very shocked when we brought the cockroaches to their attention. GROSS.(Our waitress saw one of the cockroaches so it wasn’t a matter of believing us or not.) I’ve been here once before and enjoyed the wine & cheese plate. However, I will not be returning to an establishment that has an obvious cockroach problem and doesn’t seem the least bit surprised by it.

I love the beer options so many great choices. The servers are well versed in all of them. The food is great! I love the brussels. Yum! The live music is lovely. Not too loud, which I always appreciate. The servers are always kind, patient and keep my glass full.

I enjoyed how close Sophie’s Place is to the beach and their good selection of beer and breakfast drinks. Their all-you-can-drink mimosas were tasty and strong, and the blood orange beer was a good fit for brunch. Beware, this place gets packed on the weekend and it may be difficult to find a table for more than 2. Larger groups should be prepared to wait. Similar to S L’s experience on ½/16, we saw people come in and seated, eat, and leave before we got our meal. It took around 3 hours for us to brunch here. Plan ahead and get the endless mimosas, you will get your money’s worth here. While we waited, the front of house was attentive and gave us frequent updates. A manager gave us a discount on the bill and a couple free drinks for waiting. Which was good, but I wished Sophie’s Place was more organized than to let us wait for so long after placing our orders.

(Dined 11÷08÷15SU @ 11:00am): This was my choice, and generally speaking Sophie’s got a few things going for her! A dear friend and I caught-up with each other once a month — preferably in her area since she’s near the beach — and bottomless mimosas was the main criteria, so my handy-dandy Unilocal app directed us to Sophie’s Place which was a short drive from her pad. Did we make the right choice!?: Bottomless Mimosas($ 15.00×2) — Oh hell yeah! Apparently, $ 15.00 was the going rate these days, so my friend and I made sure and got our money’s worth! Because the mimosas were already pre-mixed we never saw the brands that were used for the champagne and orange juice. However, the mix was definitely on the heavy-handed side of the champagne(yes!). We floated away on the bubbles while we staved-off scurvy! Crab Benedict($ 15.00) — This was my friend’s dish which looked and smelled really good(brainfart — forgot to take a picture!). Of the little bite I had it lacked the lovely taste of crab, and sadly, this was indeed the case throughout the dish; just not enough crab. But the hollandaise sauce was rather nice… Chive Bacon Scramble($ 10.00) — Came with a side of home fries and wheat toast, I was disappointed in the small portion size. Whenever I thought of «scramble» I pictured a sliced-and-diced omelette with a minimum of three large eggs. Unfortunately, I was left asking, «Where’s the egg, bacon, cheese… and flavor!?» Plus, I was starving. The home fries were good and came out hot. I babied this dish while I filled the belly up with countless flutes of mimosas. Side of Mac & Cheese($ 5.00) — This was gastro gooey goodness galore! I didn’t know if I was able to add bacon, breadcrumbs, etc. as a topping which would’ve made it oh so much better! But the macaroni was cooked perfectly and the melted cheese oozed all over the place. Shame I didn’t have pieces of bread to scoop up any remaining cheese instead of embarrassing myself as I used my fingers! Service — Brittany our cute friendly server kicked arse and always seemed to be in the right position to pour me another flute of mimosa as I polished each one off! Can I take her home?! Besides her, we were immediately greeted by two young hostesses who led us to a table for two inside. Our server was cool as we took our time ordering food while we downed mimosas. Once order, the food came out fairly quickly, and as we finished the plates were cleared away, the mimosas kept coming, and they were chill as we kicked it and continued to talk. It was all good! Parking(Varies) — Located in the«Riviera Village», we actually parked nearby at my friend’s work and walked a couple blocks. Although there appeared to be plenty of street parking spots, I didn’t notice whether they were metered or not. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — Initially, the inside gave off a sinister parlour vibe with its somewhat dark wooden tables, chairs, tomato soup-colored uncluttered walls(except for the one brick wall which added a rustic touch), and relatively high ceiling with ornate electric light fixtures. The dining area was tight throughout while patrons crowded around the bar as they watched NFL games. The front outdoor patio was equally crammed but offered the open ocean air and warm natural lighting which barely made its way through the glass windows into the main dining area. There were TVs in the bar area as well as throughout the restaurant, but no background music. Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I wouldn’t mind if I hung out at Sophie’s Place again mainly for their exceptional service and beach-adjacent location as I sipped on mimosas. The laid-back California beach lifestyle was evident as everyone seemed so cheery with toothy smiles on their faces. I felt it was still too formal to be anything close to a decent sports bar even with the various TVs and drink options. However, the small portions and elevated prices would be a barrier for me. The menu was varied so there was something for everyone. I found fairly good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(TOTAL paid experience was around $ 65.00BEFORE tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX! 3.5STARS

Found this place on a whim! It’s located in a peaceful and cute little area in Redondo Beach not too far driving from the Pier. There was a group of staff outside as we were walking in the restaurant but we got welcomed and seated right away. It was pretty busy with people watching a football game and people dining. Good amount of offerings on the menu and beer selections. The server was knowledgeable about the beer choices and recommended some good ones. The food was excellent! We ordered… Brussel Sprouts– Delicious! Good amount of balsamic vinegar and cooked to perfection! Slamb Burger– The couple bites I had was really good! The burger comes on a focaccia bread and choice of fries. Candied Bleu Burger– Super flavorful! I got this wrapped in lettuce and got sweet potato fries with it. It was a little hard to eat since it wasn’t exactly wrapped in lettuce but layered with it. This might have been the first time there was an onion ring in my burger! The only thing is I would have like is to go easy on the blue cheese had I had known there was going to be a lot. I ended up scraping chunks of it so if you’re not a fan of blue cheese just ask for it on the side, go light on the cheese, or substitute for another type of cheese. The aioli sauce that came with the burger was to die for! The service was on point and the food comes out really fast. Enjoyed dinner and looking forward to come back!

You know,… I have visited this establishment before without realizing it — one bad-hangover morning — and I enjoyed the experience. It was a busy Sunday with a group of girlies and I had a coffee to cure my hangover with a Brunch item… can’t remember quite what that was. Well some years later I find myself visiting this place again. Just our luck! It was Taco Tuesday AND Hoppy Hour! Seated within minutes and attentive service made this a pleasant experience. 2 Tacos, 1 Slamb Slider(my fave), and 1 La Fin du Mont later, made me a hOppy camper :). Overall, this was a good choice for a simple Tuesday night dinner. It didn’t blow my socks off(I wasn’t wearing any, anyways) but it offered a little variety and the food was decent. I’d recommend it for both Taco Tuesday and Hoppy Hour.

The covered patio offers refuge for feet tired of shopping. Drink menu is lengthy so we enjoyed a few cold beers as we cooled off. Staff referred to the sign for most of our beer related questions. Seemed they were not well versed in their beer offerings. They may have been getting warmed up for the day. Back of the house seemed busy /chaotic. Menu is a tad expensive with burgers being one of better values. Would have appreciated more practical options. The burgers satisfied our hunger but there were no home runs here. We will not come here specifically for burgers. Good for kids. Patio seating let the kid watch people strolling the Riviera. Staff didn’t rush us, so my toddler took a year to push his veggies around the plate. :/

Loved the environment, specially the weather was lil breezy, but although they were not super busy, the service was slow. The waiter was very caring, the food quality was good, the last 2 stars that I didn’t give was bc their receptionist was very rude and mean, once I asked her if possibly I could change my table to a warmer place bc it got windy and other tables were empty, she refused and said that she is so sorry about that. What kind of serving is that on the first glance? Not a good idea

Came here on a Friday night and was seated within a few minutes. The service was very attentive and we never had to wait on anything. I had the ribs with a side of brussels sprouts, split in half at no extra charge. The ribs were very meaty and tender, sliding right off the bone. It came with some great sweet potato fries and a nice pickled cole slaw. If you’re not into mayonaise based cole slaw, you’ll really like this one. We sat outside on the patio and the heat lamps kept us warm enough. I’m looking forward to going back and exploring the drink menu.

We took my Mom here for Mothers Day brunch. They didn’t take reservations and said it was first come, first serve. We got there right when they opened and were the first in line. We got to choose our booth, and we selected one in the corner, hoping it would be less noisy. The first thing we noticed was loud rock music playing through the loud speakers. Really? On Mothers Day? The second turn-off was our waiter. He was probably the most unfriendliest waiter I’ve experienced in a long time. Rude, slow and just didn’t care. For Mothers Day, you’d think they’d roll out the red carpet and bring their A game. This guy was so bad that my sister had to speak to the boss about him. As soon as he got a «talking to», he did a 180… and was sweet as pie! I got the SOUTHWESTSCRAMBLE | $ 10 eggs | chorizo | cheddar-jack | avocado | pico de gallo | tortillas(see photo). It was tasteless and dry. I had to add mega tapitio to give it some life! I also ordered bottomless mimosas for $ 15, but being that the waiter was so SLOW, I changed it to just 1 glass. The one nice thing they did was offer each Mother a big daisy flower as they left. I thought that was a nice touch for Mothers Day. Overall, I’d give it 2−½ — 3 stars. I probably wouldn’t return, as there are much better restaurants in Redondo Beach.

I came to check Sophie’s place out because they were featured on a site that I came across with one of the best brunches with bottomless mimosas. We were greeted and then seated right away, yay for no waiting! I ordered their bottomless mimosas and had their granola with fruit. My siblings ordered an omelette and a burger. Their food is mediocre, I’m not sure I would come back for it. But for the drinks, I might have to! As I was sipping on the bubbly, I kept staring at their list of beer that they had on the chalkboard and one stuck out to me: coconut porter. I just had to get it on top of my mimosas and I am so glad that I did. I have to say service was great, as I ordered the bottomless mimosas, because what better way to start your Sunday? Our server kept pouring and pouring right as I was finishing, so I was never empty handed for more than 2 minutes. The place was clean and sultry, there was a good flow of people coming in, it was crowded but not overwhelming. Parking I would have to say is a bit tricky. You could probably find free parking nearby in the neighborhoods, but other than that, there is street parking right outside the establishment, I don’t think they have a lot.
