From the excellent friendly service, to the amazingly fast hot food, this place is great! The«fish» swimming on the ceiling and the kids’ artwork on the wall is fantastic! The view out the back is spectacular, and I love the old soda shoppe feel. Great prices too!

First time here and everyone highly recommend their guacamole burger. Can’t wait to try the garlic fries. Great beachy environment and friendly staff!

I thought this place was adorable to take my daughter. We don’t go to a lot of «kid friendly» restaurants. This place is extremely kids friend. We shared chicken fingers. If I go back I want to try one of their shakes.

Not very good anymore. Untrained chefs ruined second meal in a row(2-months between visits) * left the paper on and served the burger last time. –manager comped that order which was right. This time * didn’t scrape the grill or … Leaving a funky skin on the meat * cold fries served * fries were speckled with black. They seem to have avoided changing the oil in some time * M&m’s shake was yummy * server and service was good * food came out quickly even with customized order Dunno if I’m heading to this Rubys again anytime soon. Place seriously needs a secret shopper from corporate

Breakfast was good, average diner food. The omelette was filled with large pieces of meat and vegetables. The breakfast burrito was good, not great. Sitting on the patio mid-morning was nice. This is a good place to stop for breakfast or lunch, but they don’t seem to have much dinner business.

The huevos rancheros was very good. The dish includes a couple of deep fried flour tortillas but the cooks were able to scrape up corn tortillas for me(gluten intolerant). Adding the fried tortillas gives the dish a good crunch. Last Friday night was opening night for the ‘car show’. An informal gathering of a variety of cool vehicles. My ’66 wasn’t quite ready so we missed that one, but they do this all through the summer months and into the fall. If you have nothing to do on Friday or are a fan of old cars, go down and grab some hearty American food at Rudy’s and check out the cars.

There’s a lot of parking, close to the beach, very convenient! Loved the food here as usual and the service was awesome! We were a pretty loud group and they accommodated to us really well. Would definitely recommend this location :)

Rubys is wonderful. I was upset about having to pay for parking to eat there but the fast service and wonderful food made up for it, ok still upset about the parking. If ur near rubys go eat there u won’t be disappointed, except the parking I’m still upset bout that. Lol

50s themed diner. The food is standard American fare, burgers, shakes, fries. Plenty of parking. Well managed restaurant.

The«free shake with purchase of an entrée» check in deal here alone is good enough to get me through the door! At 5.99 a piece, its not a bad place to go and get a cheeseburger, not to mention the burgers all come with«refillable fries». What deals!!! I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid, and will say that it’s gone down hill a LITTLE bit, but nit enough to say it isn’t still good. My past visit, we upgraded two orders of our fries to chili fries and garlic fries, both of which were forgotten. But, it was very quickly remedied, so it was nothing to cry over. Everything else was on time, and satisfying. It’s not the best diner food, but it’s great for kids and casual dinners, or a great choice if you’re at the seaside lagoon!

Came on Valentine’s Day & got seated right away. Slight wait to order because of the crowd, but no big deal. Got our usuals(cranberry turkey sandwich & vegwich) & they did not disappoint. Tried the fried green beans. They were tasty & came with 3 sauces. My man got the oreo shake(thanks Unilocal check-in!!), & gave himself an ice cream headache. Friendly staff that were on top of everything(except the screaming baby!). Hopefully this will be our new V-day tradition.

Been coming to Redondo Beach Pier for four years, I had never visited the Ruby’s Diner. I hadn’t been to any Ruby’s location in years, so I wasn’t expecting much. The burgers here are HUGE. Much bigger than I remember, and the fries were definitely on par, crunchy and piping hot. We got a set of regular fries, one with the garlic, and one as sweet potato – everything was devoured. The bottomless fries that come with the burgers are definitely a plus. For being right by the pier they have not inflated their price for the location – which was rather surprising. This was the perfect spot for my picky-eating nephews who only wanted hot dogs and mac and cheese, and great for the adults that wanted a good burger with cold shakes. Service was great and our waitress checked on us often, we will definitely be back the next time the boys come fish on the pier with me :)

Ruby’s Diner on their 33rd Anniversary, Monday 12÷07÷15 offered $ 1.99 for their famous Burger and Fries. It was a no-hassle/hassle-free experience in that there was no wait in line when we went, there was no upselling of other menu items and the service was fast and gracious with the food being delicious. The special was a cheeseburger with your choice of 3 cheeses, or an option to have no cheese at all. What I love about Ruby’s also is that they cook their burgers fresh to order and also customize them for the customer, and I requested MEDIUMRARE and they accommodated that perfectly, nice, juicy moist and pink meat in the middle. Parking is easy, ‘tho in the lot it is validated parking that will still cost you $ 1 for 2 hours… but it beats feeding the meters in the streets or walking, unless it’s a day where a nice stroll is called for and street parking is free, to get some exercise, take in the scenic Redondo Beach pier and then walk off the meal afterwards.

Thank you Ruby’s because your delicious dairy based beverage did indeed bring this young man and his friends to your«yard.“It most certainly is better than mine. This is the only Ruby’s I’ve been to so I’m not sure if they all do this check in promotion, but if you check in there is no charge for their milkshake. I’ve only tried their cookie dough and cookies and cream shake and both have been excellent. The food here is pretty standard diner food and nothing particularly stood out. I’ve tried their fish and chips and their sriracha burger, both just average. The fish and chips batter lacked proper seasoning although it was fried perfectly. The Sriracha burger lacked the sriracha taste, I feel like the only way to do Sriracha right is to shower the food with it. Service has been great though. Extra .5 star for their free milk shake check in, so this place is more like a 3.5 star.

Mom and I went here today. We were pleasantly surprised! We sat out on the patio where there used to be a lot of birds but today there weren’t any! We ate the chicken fingers and fish and chips. Maybe we were just hungry but the food was so good! Nothing was greasy or too salty! Our waitress was really friendly too. Overall, it’s a great restaurant.

Went here last Friday which was during the Classic Car show, needless to say this place was super packed and we were with 8 ppl to get seated. The wait was only 10 minutes. I was not expecting that considering the amount of people standing outside waiting to get seated. The burgers were so good. Everyone was happy with what they got. And of course the malts and milkshakes were BOMB. For how many people were inside the restaurant, the service was still really good and the food came out much quicker than we had expected. :)

Stopped by here on a Sunday and wondered why it was so empty… I understand Ruby’s Diner reproduces the feel of 1940’s era with their décor: Bright red vinyl booths, white Formica tables, soda fountains, milkshakes, burgers, antique Coca-Cola posters and commercial art echo the Swing Era but the food is short of mediocre. We ordered the *Bleu Cheese Burger and the *Guacamole Burger. There was nothing special about them, same with the fries. Aside from that, we had a Root Beer float since we haven’t had that in years. Well, let’s just say that thank goodness when you check-in via Unilocal you are awarded a free float… You can bet we marked it as used for this visit because we’re most likely NOT returning. Service was good, and efficient since well, of course, there was no one else there but us.

Disgusting food and management is lazy. This place has a great location I bet it could do really well with the right staff. Food tastes microwaved and nacho thingy was cold. Service was whatever and when told management about issues he shrugged it off. I won’t be back and here’s your 1 star review. Gross Gross Gross…
