I have to say, some pretty suspicious bad reviews on this place. First off, it’s not really a Thai place, it’s more like Chinese, which is good because I like to go to actual Thai restaurants not food courts for it. And it was really good when they started and something did happen for a year or so when it wasn’t that great but they have really improved lately. I go to the mall just for this place. It’s a nice change instead of panda, the prices are better and you get more food. The mango chicken is the best.

Do not buy food here! They are giving samples of their food that are 2 days old! I ate a noodle here and pineapple chicken that tasted weird and when I got home I had a stomachache.

The mango chicken is the best thing ever, however, I can not say the same for the pad thai. I ordered a side order of pad thai and it did not taste authentic whatsoever. I should’ve known, considering this place was in a mall. It had the smell of sink water, it was very bland, and wasn’t great at all. The portions were sufficient though. A side order of mango chicken was 4.99 and the side order of pad thai was 3.99. Good prices, good portions, but could do better on the food itself.

Run away from this place. It may taste okay but trust me your belly will feel bloated soon after eating. Something about the seasoning or spices or not sure. Whatever it is, you’ve been fair warned!

I hate you! You gave me food with glass!!! I was so dumbfounded and worried that I would bleed internally, that the first thing on my mind was not to sue; I just wanted to make sure I was OK. What’s worse is at the time I did not have health insurance. I complained to the restaurant. Guess what? They offered me more food. WHYTHEHELLWOULD I WANTMOREFOODAFTERYOUFEDMEGLAS!!! I went to complain at Guest service @ The Galleria. The customer service representative asked me if I had pictures… REALLY??? I’m WORRIED about dying not SELFIES!!! The South Bay Galleria never contacted me regarding this issue – not OK!

I do not recommend this place. Unfortunately, I read Fabian C.‘s review after I ate the food. My suspicions of the quality of food were confirmed. I ordered the mango chicken, spicy chicken and fried rice. The mango chicken underneath the batter was dry, stringy and tasted somewhat old. The spicy chicken had a nice glaze on the outside of the chicken pieces. Unfortunately, when I bit into the chicken, the quality of the chicken, once again, was dry and stringy. The fried rice, though mostly cooked well, some of the vegetables were definitely not cooked all. I also had the Thai ice tea with Boba. The tapioca balls in the Thai ice tea had hard centers. Which means they were a day or more old. I gave them 2 stars because the people were very nice. I’d rather go to Panda Express where I can see the food being cooked.

Decided to give this place a shot for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. Food court was busy so I figured the food would not be sitting so long. I tried the Pad Thai noodles with panang curry and mango chicken. Mango chicken was ok, similar to Panda’s orange chicken. The Pad Thai and panang was not so good, flavor was just not there. They do offer samples, so you should definitely taste before you settle on anything.

I’ve brought a couple of different people here while at the mall shopping and they all love it. Their mango chicken is soo good! I like to try something different every time and have not yet been disappointed. However, I can never finish the food; it’s a lot!

My friend and I come here for the vegetable noodle soup often. The food is always delicious and the service is usually great until today. The general manager was there(short hair with tattoo behind his right ear)…HORRIBLEATTITUDE. When we requested for the guy who always makes our soup to make it instead of the general manager he started pacing and mumbling about how he can make soup because he is manager. If i were a manager I would be happy that I had a staff member that did such a great job that customers requests him, but no… not this nut. He also clapped at the staff, which was very rude as well. Maybe they should have someone more professional in charge.

I have to admit, I be driving to da mall just to eat here. Lol. The mango chicken is great, so is the teriyaki, but my fav is the yellow chicken curry. Where else can you get good curry at a food court?! I got all 3 items for $ 8 more or less. Good deal, even if I have to deal with the embarrassment of being at the mall in my PJ’s. Worth it.

How many times have I passed this place on the way to another food joint? Plenty… and now I realize the error of my ways. For fast casual Thai food, this place is surprising good. I couldn’t tell the difference between the pad Thai, or the yellow and panang curries, from this place and the ones from an authentic Thai restaurant. So, I am not really sure what that says about my taste in Thai food, especially since I am Southeast Asian myself… but(!), all I know is that for the price and the meal, you seriously cannot get a better deal. If you are new to this place, ask to sample everything before you order.

Really good for a mall’s food court! I’ve spent years working retail in over a handful of malls. This is one of my favorites. Good thai spices and quality ingredients are used. Plus you can sample anything you want. I’ll stop by the mall just to pick up a 3 item combo for dinner with the hubby.

Went to this spot and ordered small portion of rice, the mango chicken, and spicy barbecue chicken. Started eating mango chicken in after three bites, I felt something tingling in my throat, and I cough it up and felt something on my tongue like a string and I pulled out a long piece of hair that was in my chicken. The hair was cooked or connected to the piece of chicken that I was eating or chewing on. Took my plate back and spoke to a young guy who was at the register and he told me they don’t have nobody with long hair that work there. He refused to give me my money back and the older gentleman who took my order seen me start taking pictures of my plate and he took my plate and gave me my money back which was not the correct amount. I went to this place because other Unilocalers gave it a 4 ½ star. This surely ain’t no real Thai food, this is like fast Chinese kitchen. Finding a long piece of hair that was not mine in my food messed up my lunch and spoil my appetite, any other people reading this review check your plate before you eat!

Definitely do not recommend this place. Being a past employee, I know too much about this restaurant. The quality of food is not as good as it looks. And this place is very unsanitary; the dishes are not done properly, cooks don’t wash hands, and I’ve even caught the cooks and the manager smoking in the kitchen. They also store cooked food overnight to sale the next day, which is just disgusting in my opinion. To top it off they treat their employees like crap(the reason why I resigned). They offer the cook no days off and no overtime or holiday bonus. They also pay many employees under the table and the manager keeps the tips for himself to support his personal habits(cigarettes). So please do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

The * * * * is based primarily on the the service here. They are so welcoming, and have a near carnival barker type approach to drawing in customers with free samples of the food to try before you buy. The food samples are seductively tasteful, so if you’re hungry it’s like the crack/drug dealer business model«the 1st one is free», and you’ll be craving more and next thing you know you’re in line ordering. It’s a business model like this and friendly attitude to match that’s probably allowed them the success as I’ve seen their neighboring food court peers turnover the past years, yet Ruby Thai is still standing. The prices are on par with the neighboring Panda Express, but this has more of a home kitchen cooked feel and taste I think is more appealing at times and should be supported over the corporate chains. They also have fresh made noodles /soup options in addition to chicken served a half dozen different ways. I like their«Mango Chicken» much better than Panda’s «Orange Chicken» — — and the best chicken is the new Lemon Pepper chicken. I enjoyed the Sweet and Sour Chicken too. They have Pad Thai, Noodles and Rice as the carb staples. The portions are big enough if you order a 2 item or 3 item, I’d say«go for the 3 item» and then you’ll have a dish big enough to split amongst 2 people or have a 2nd meal to take home. The total cost is about $ 10 or so for a meal. Parking of course is plentiful(unless its Christmas Holiday Shopping time) since it’s at the South Bay Galleria Mall where there’s indoor covered parking and outdoor parking(park next to Kohl’s then you can take the long escalator straight up to the top floor directly where the food court is located)

UPDATE [1/13/2013] So I dont see the crazy guy at the counter anymore, and I love the food. So removing my 1* and upgrading to 5 *s which they deserve. I have to admit, the people who work there now are extremely nice. ______________________________________________________________ So I have to say i started writing this review with 5 stars, because I like their food so much. Their food is Thai with an Indonesian twist, and something you cant find anywhere else. After eating here today noon(9÷3÷2011), i decided to take a picture of the store and post it here. As soon as i took the picture, one of the guys behind the counter, who i think is the manager,(the one in orange t-shirt in the pic) started yelling at me saying«you can’t take pictures of the place, without asking permission». At first i thought he was kidding and laughed it off. But he kept insisting about ‘company policy to not take pictures’ ! Are you f’ing kidding me? its the mall. I will take a picture of any store here. sue me ! He kept asking me to delete the picture, i said no and kept walking. He jumped over the counter and started running after us !. I ignored him, but he kept following us all the way through the stairs to 2nd floor, then to first floor and to our car; all this time asking me to delete the picture, and how he is going to lose customers because i took a picture. And all i wanted to do was post a good review so they get more customers ! In between he kept threatening to call the cops. for taking a picture of their store??? I should be calling cops for him stalking us . Once we got to our car he started standing behind my car to block me from leaving !! I had to force him out of my way ! All this for taking a picture of their store??? I hope the owners fire this guy ASAP before they lose more customers or get into some lawsuit.
