I loved Delzano’s! It’s closed… no further info on this.

I feel bad giving them 2 stars, but its always hit or miss with the food and the staff. I will say I have had great meals but it was overshadowed by the inattentive waitress. I will give It another try, maybe on a less busy night.

After hearing music coming from this place on a regular basis, we finally decided to walk over and try it. I’m glad we did. It appears to be a typical, on the water, medium end type of restaurant but the food is much better than you expect. I had the filet medallions with wasabi mashed potatoes and vegetables. I cannot remember liking pea pods that much! The wasabi potatoes was a first, but was a great addition — you can taste the wasabi, but it doesn’t overpower, so nothing else needs to be added. When I think of filet medallions, I think of half-dollar sized pieces of filet — the portion i received was more like 4 ounce pancake — three of them! The merlot reduction with mushrooms was a great add, but the filet was so tender it could have stood by itself! This was only $ 19.95! He had the seafood kabobs over rice and vegetables. We were surprised to see the a great variety of seafood on the kabob from whitefish to shrimp. It was cooked perfectly, so you could taste the flavor of the fire grilling. The rice could have been better — it almost tasted like standard, instant rice, so if you are going with great seafood on the water, do it with fresh rice too, right? We went on a Friday evening, sat by a nice open window, enjoying the ambiance of the water, plus the nice live music being played. Sitting by the window can be great people watching for those that like that as much as the music like we do! The wait staff was so friendly, the music/ambiance was good with a nice breeze, while still having the ability to talk and carry on conversations. The prices were really reasonable, though the wine is a bit overpriced — but when isn’t it? :(Also, they take credit cards, but no Amex, so be aware. I would recommend Delzano’s, see if it’s your type of place, at least once — I know we will go back. Be mindful that it is on the International Boardwalk, so you never know what kind of crowd there will be. We got right in, but I have seen this place packed with long lines too.

This food was ridiculously delicious! We were here on a Saturday night and they had good, easy listening music. We got to see a few seals from our window as we had dinner. We had no problem with the service(and my sister is a little high maintenance when it comes to this). Overall we all loved it!

Gosh… I wish I had looked at this before we ate here. My friend and I(both Unilocalers) should have known better, but we were enjoying our walk down the pier and we were running out of options and we were feeling a little adventurous. My friend had the sea bass and I had the shrimp linguini and we shared the calamari. I think we were both unimpressed with the food. My linguini had so much garlic in it that I was really worried that I was stinking up the fresh ocean breeze, which was the highlight of the place. They have these HUGE windows that open up to the marina, which was nice. But overall, I don’t think I’ll be coming here for a repeat visit.

only reason why I give three stars: the food. and the manager who helped us more than our waitress. I try to understand what the waiter/waitress goes through, but our server was so bad. we had to go the different restaurant to finish our dinner… sorry I hope the owner knows that having bad employees… could hurt the restaurant business.

Had v day dinner here group of 5… I would give them props for being able to accomodate us last minute but the food and service made it obvious why they were able to. The food was so so my steak was over cooked and was not properly rested as the thing nearly burned my mouth when I bit into it. as was the crab legs… The mash potatoes were underseasoned and tasted like they came out of a box. Service in general was disjointed and scatterbrained. People seem to think a restaurant should get passes for poor service on valentines day cause it’s soo busy. But they know what to expect and should Staff accordingly in any case service levels should get elevated along with the prices on these holidays.

This place is horrible. Considering that I have been here 3 times thinking they just had an off day, I think it’s time to throw in the towel. EVERYTIME I came here, they ran out of something. Lamb, salmon, Crown Royal, beer… BEER!!! A bar running out of Crown and BEER? WTF? But the worst thing about this place is the service. I think they intentionally find the worst waiters and waitresses in the world. They have attitude and have no idea what service is. Depending on the bartender, he(I only had ‘he’s’ there) can’t even make a simple vodka tonic. And they all act pretentious. The only people that hustle over here are the buss boys. That’s sad. I think it really says a lot about the management not caring. They don’t care that service is inadequate. They don’t care that they are understocked. They just don’t care.

Worst service I have ever had. I don’t even remember the food, because the waitress pretty much ruined my experience here. Wish I could give zero stars.

I went here for a company event last week. Their upstairs event area is fantastic! Great view of the water, we had our own bar and waitress who knew how to pour a Guinness. Dinner was salad, some delicious chicken florentine, salmon, and steak with brown gravy and mushrooms. It was delicious!!! They also served us some raspberry torte and chocolate mousse for dessert, I had the former and it was fantastic! I also have to sing the praises of the delightful servers we were graced with, as my new shoes were killing me and I had even cut toes from the peeptoes, and the kind waitress gave me bandaids from her own purse to ease my discomfort. THAT is service. THANKYOU!

Some other reviewers have noted that the potential for this to be good is so great. How a small restaurant near the boardwalk and in such a great place could be so painful to experience… beyond me I met with a friend this past weekend. We were there on Sunday. It was not closing time yet they had run out of very very basic items explaining that they close on Monday. Is this really any reason to cheat the people who are not 1) already loud and drinking 2) interested in complete meals 3) in from out of town and have no idea what is up with the attitude when you walk in the door? The place has potential. Lose the music, or at least the music that has so many microphones/amps it could support Lady Gaga and Prince and all their entourages? Two girls were singing and they were pretty(in the words of Randy Jackson) pitchy starting out. But two singers with mikes, a drummer, a guitarist and a bassist all with mikes? The room is smaller than the rest room at AM/PM for crying out loud. Their music needs to be outside where the seating is in the parking lot. Not appropriate level of loud for people who want to talk. I told my friend: I cannot hear what you are saying so I signed this message: ‘Send me an email of what you just said, ok?‘ On to food/service. It doesn’t get any better. you might want to grab a chair. The waitress, before the noisy music started, got to our table smiling. Of course as soon as we ordered our drinks the music had slapped us up side the head and we had to repeat every little thing x 3. I think she felt we were there to annoy here because after not getting the drinks we needed(how complicated is hot water, tea etc?) she really showed some obnoxious girl attitude. The food was as I mentioned, lacking some accoutrements. How the heck do you run out of portions of items which go together The place was not full any time that day when we passed it. Come on. Do not run out of food when the sun may be out, people may get up and get dressed for a walk on the beach, and maybe, just maybe, may honor your establishment with their business? These days you have that attitude? Come on. You know me, I am pretty generous with my observations but really. I ordered a special of Santa Barbara haddock with spinach and rice. It was presented pretty well but nothing I could not have seen at Carrow’s, or Coco’s. The flavor was meh. My friend had a salad and chowder. That was ok. I am not usually disappointed but the regulars who stopped in got smiles, greeted by servers rapidly, and their drinks were on their tables sans error. There were a lot of loud regulars in there, laughing and scratching and schmoozing. That is truly only a bar with some food, and maybe not enough food. I suggest you go and grab a Churro on the marina, and go back to Ruby’s diner. We could have done a lot better there because they have servers who know how to make the business look great and they have sufficient food to cover a weekend crowd. By the way, there were never 3 tables full of food-eaters there the whole time we suffered through the music. Keep on walking past this one folks. Unless you eat beer and pretzels and like a bar with no possible chance of conversation.

My team and I hosted our banquet upstairs and though the view was gorgeous and everything was pretty clean, in retrospect… Delzano’s isn’t quite the best place for a semi-formal to formal event. The food was extremely sub par. I had a salmon dish that seemed to be cooked on a bed of salt and pepper that came with a random assortment of vegetables, including a stray bok choy(just because we’re Asian doesn’t mean we always want Asian vegetables you know) and the only thing I really savored from the whole night was the bread and salad. Others ordered chicken or steak and still there were complaints. Too dry, too salty, too meh. The dessert platters we ordered for our event were okay, but you can’t really go wrong with sugary items when people are half starved from waiting for their food(or from not liking it). Food aside, the venue is nice, at least! Gorgeous view indeed.

We should have Unilocaled this place before we went. We were at Tony’s for drinks but wanted something… else for dinner. I was a bit over dressed for Tony’s at that moment, maybe that’s what it was. So Delzano’s was the choice. Looked clean, nice bar. Wine was good. Martini was not as ordered. Bread was really good. Okay, let’s order some food. I like to use bread as an indicator since most bad restaurants don’t care about their bread. The food was horrible. The steak was way way way over cooked. The lobster was UNDER cooked. I didn’t even know that was possible. I still taste the buttery stuff on the vegetables and it’s the next morning. It was just bad. Won’t eat there again… ever. The service was decent, but there was clearly no one in charge there. It was a Saturday night over labor day weekend. Should have been a manager there to resolve our dining issues. I’m just sayin…

Very Inconsistent! I have come to Delzano’s 3 times and have had a different experience each time in spite of ordering the exact same dish. The first time, my Filet Mignon was absolutely amazing, perfectly cooked and flavored. The second time, it was totally cut differently, seasoned differently, and most importantly, was so over cooked, it was like leather. I wanted a steak, I was not planning on shoe shopping! Not an easy thing to do to Filet which is naturally a very tender cut of meat. My final time here yesterday, my meal was so undercooked, I was expecting my filet to jump off the plate and go for a jog down the Pier. 3 people in my group including myself needed to send our food back. While the potential is there and the atmosphere is great, the consistency in food and service just isn’t good enough for the prices they charge. Going here is like a game of roulette, hope you get a decent server and the right cook. Unfortunately, they have let me down twice in a row and I don’t know that I want to go back. Two stars because the first time was so good

Holy moly was this a surprisingly bad place. All in all the seafood dishes were tasty. My friends ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and salad and the crab + Maine lobster special. Both dishes were very tasty, but given how BAD the service was, I would go elsewhere for equally tasty and less expensive options. I ordered the Fettucine Marsala. Ugh. They should not serve Italian plates if they don’t know how to cook them! The pasta was overcooked and unsalted. It was just… mushy and water. The sauce was mediocre, and they didn’t even properly toss the pasta in the sauce. The presentation was just sloppy. The waitresses completely ignored us, except to 1) mess up my order, 2) charge me for the wrong item(and a more expensive one at that), and 3) forget to bring me back my boxed leftovers. They never refilled our waters, and the food was incredibly SLOW(given that they barely had any customers). While they were not outwardly rude, they seemed lazy and incompetent. They also told my friend that the lobster/crab special was $ 24.95… and then told us at the END(after we ordered already), that the price was $ 29.95 and«oops!». They should have at least offered a discount or service to make up for it. We went into the restaurant for the special only, really, and felt misled. The food’s not worth it, especially for the service.

Skip Delzanos, head over to Tonys if you want a great meal with great service. Just ate at Delzanos last night, thought it had great ambiance, a lot of potential for a fun afternoon, however the service was awful. My fish was over cooked, couldn’t get a drink to save my life, and the waitress literally threw our check at us. This place was just bad. It’s a shame.

I hate to give a 1 star rating, especially when an establishment like Delzano’s may not deserve it. As in other reviews I have provided, perhaps this wasn’t their best evening. Here’s an exception — they deserve this one, and I mostly blame the head chef for that evening. First off, we had to try and ignore the older waitress who appeared to have been recently sobbing in the tableware kiosk. Over what I don’t care — she needed to just keep her personal stuff out, or go home already — you are doing no good here. Don’t bring my dinner party down because you and your BF just broke up(as we deduced at the end of our meal). As to the food itself, no imagination. It’s just a typical fare with items either being overly seasoned, or not seasoned at all. Mind you we are not snobs by any means, but then again we weren’t famished willing to eat just anything. The bar libations were OK(you really can’t screw up beer or wine, can you? Don’t worry… they didn’t). However we did witness a table send an entire tray of drinks back because they had vodka in them. I’m not sure why that would be a problem but they did. Maybe they ordered gin based drinks? My Chippino was fishy smelling, as in OLD fish. Chippino should only have a hint of herbs and the ocean, not like the bottom of a bait bucket that’s been sitting in a hot SoCal sun on a July afternoon. My wife’s lamb was also a bit too aged, as in muttony in texture. It was also overly salted and way-way too garlicked, probably trying to mask the mutton smell. We didn’t finish either entrée. Another person in our party never even touched her shrimp pasta other than a cordial picking over — «shrimp not cooked enough» she reported. Strange, I though you could only overcook shrimp since they cook so quickly in the first place. Only at Delzano’s I suppose. The steak eater in our party said it was OK, but under-seasoned and not worth the price. The prices were on par or slightly higher with the other restaurants of this type. Here, though is where you pay for the waterside views, and not for the(lack of) quality of the food.

Tonight was my first time here. It’s an attractive building with lots of windows, located on the ocean with one side facing Redondo harbor and all its colorful boats. I ordered pork chops, charbroiled with a wine reduction sauce, & turned down the garlic mashed potatoes in favor of steamed broccoli, zucchini & asparagus. The veggies were delicious but the chops were so salty I could eat only one of two. I should mention that I arrived at 5pm & the restaurant was not busy, however my server was inexplicably inattentive. She did not once stop by to ask if everything was okay(it wasn’t) and I had to eventually flag her down to ask for the check. I also had waited more than half an hour for my food, although there were only a few people in the restaurant at that early hour. So… when my server came to take the plates away, I did mention the extreme saltiness of the chops(they were also tough). I usually don’t complain about food, I simply don’t go back… but this was over the top. I asked for a doggy bag for the other chop, explaining I would take it home & try to rinse off the salty sauce. My server returned with the news that I was not being charged for the meal. The chef had tasted the salty chop dish and agreed that it was inedible. I gave ten bucks to the waitress… because I had eaten the veggies, after all. These people need to learn how to cook a pork chop. Here’s one method: Buy the best quality pork chops you can find, about ¾ to 1 inch thick. Trim off as much fat as possible. Flour the chops very lightly & brown on both sides in oil or butter. Add to the pan enough boiling water to rise halfway up the chops(it must be boiling or it may toughen the meat, according to my grandmother). Pour in at least ½ bottle BV Sauce(for a pan of 4 – 6 chops). BV Sauce is a very strong beef stock reduction & it flavors perfectly; I recall there is only one size small bottle. Add a couple of peeled and quartered onions. Cover and simmer until the meat falls off the bones. It takes a couple of hours over very low heat. You can reduce the sauce — I prefer to skim the grease first and then reduce if necessary; I mostly just eat the meat and onions, not a big gravy fan. I’ll be okay later on tonight after I drink a couple of gallons of water to counteract the sodium. Sheeesh. Maybe Delzano’s does better with their seafood entrees.
