King James Construction

These folks did wood floors for us in two rooms. Now I’ve had a lot of contractors and I’ve never left a review for one. But these guys came to us highly recommended by a good neighbor. We wanted to them to raise the floor in a sunken living room and install wood floors. The estimates we got for this job ranged from $ 3300 from my plumber and his friend who never provided a written estimate, to $ 21,000 from an outfit that specialized in insurance restoration. That high estimate was crazy. We got estimates from about 10 companies and most were in the $ 5000 to $ 11 000 range. Pretty amazing range! Well, King James was at the low end of the estimates but what impressed us was the people. Really good people that we trusted, and they proved us right. They ran into a problem when raising the floor and they didn’t charge us more even though it was a lot more work. Usually when I’ve had contractors there is always something that’s «not perfect» and they try to fix it but it’s never 100% which seems to just be the nature of the universe. But not with King James, they made everything 100% RIGHT the first time, not one problem. They always 100% came on time and were extremely courteous and friendly, very professional. HOW REFRESHING. I wish there were more great contractors like this. I’ve not given ratings to the bad ones, I very rarely give bad reviews of anyone unless it’s really really really bad.
